I've had 2 accidents while stoned and sitting at a traffic light....both times I was hit by somebody that WASN'T stoned. They're the only accidents I've had. Musta been the weed right?!

I read many of the comments about this tragic tale in NY daily news. Most of the talk was about alcoholism and how women are often able to hide their problem. A 1.75L vodka bottle was found near the car, but it wasn't certain that it came from her car b/c the car rolled and was open. The MJ is clearly a side issue, interesting mainly b/c it is unknown whether it was smoked at the campground or if she smoked it with the kids in the car.

1900 PPM? almost 8 times the allowed quantity in my country.

Pompey_Monkey - I generally agree with what your saying, with the following exceptions: for years I've never driven not stoned. Never even came close to an accident. We live in a sick, neurotic society, and I actually find that ameliorating my fucked-up mind with some weed made me a better, more relaxed, driver. Problem is, you gotta be responsible. Most ppl are not as responsible as myself, so they get wasted, then get behind the wheel. Though booze is much more harmful than weed, you actually can get as disoriented on weed as you can on booze, so for those of you who believe in law and order, why not make a maximum allowed THC blood level for driving, and I mean something above 0 PPM : )

Look back through history. Alcohol has always been the big contributor to these types of accidents. Also perscription drugs such as sedatives. last ten years female DUI has increased 30% while male DUI has declined 8%." Youve come along way baby!!"

ive driven high dozens of times if not more. closest i came to an accident was when some woman ran the red light as i was going through the intersection. i was so angry that this chick almost hit me.

thats it. ive driven drunk 1 time and 1 time only. who knows what would have happened if i hadnt been stoned too at the time. i had to take over the wheel. 4 of us in the car, the driver was drunk and was nodding off at the wheel, the other 2 couldnt drive, i could drive, but i was drunk still and in a foreign town. luckily i met a cool rasta outside the club we were at and he smoked a B with me. soon as i got behind the wheel i went into focus mode, all that drunkeness dissapeared and i was all concentration.

thanks to weed im not dead.

i tried to drive drunk one other time, in the winter in the snow, we were all drunk, i was only drunk and not high at all. i made it like 10 feet before i pulled over cuz i couldnt do it. im not trying to advocate driving drunk, but i am saying you can drive high. its much safer.

that said ill never drive drunk again. i dont even wanna drive if ive been drinking anything even just 1 beer. but i will gladly drive high. makes me focus and relaxes me. im usually really tense driving sober cuz everyone else drives like they got their licenses in a box of cracker jacks.

If you get to disoriented to drive when high, your a lightweight IMHO. SMOKE MORE WEED. ;0)

For me i would say that if i hadnt smoked in a while i wouldnt feel up to driving. But if my body was used to the smoke i would prolly feel more up to it. I had some opiated thai i wouldnt drive on for sure. Just depends. 1-2 beers no problem. But not drunk.

for years I've never driven not stoned. Never even came close to an accident. .

My driving makes people nervous until I medicate. *shrug* I medicate 24/7 for anxiety and pain so I'm much more used to functioning at everything while medicated.

When I'm unmedicated for long periods of time (2 months) I have major issues with concentration, long term tracking, anxiety and a bunch of other pain and autistic related issues. You don't want me unmedicated, seriously.

From witnesses saying she was totally sober to .19 in how many minutes till crash and a high level of THC just doesn't make alot of sense unless she was slugging away on this Vodka and hittin a big dube at the same time driving to the moment of the accident, seems like there is just something missing. Like hiding her drunkeness to the people that seen her before driving off which I don't buy. Seems there are more questions to be answered before you can come to a conclusion on this accident. Tragic bigtime tho!!

I don't think this reflects badly towards marijuana. With the BAC that she had when she died, along with the amount still in her stomach she was 3 times the legal limit when she died. Now, if she would have been .08 or so, then they would start riding the marijuana, but with those high limits of booze it's more than obvious what the problem was......

The 'something missing' is the fact that the woman was a diabetic.:joint:

For me, I've always found when combining ganja with alcohol (or any other drug for that matter,) intoxication increases almost exponentially, and there is a point that can always be reached where the feeling isn't pleasant anymore. Know your limits and don't be foolish.

exactly what i was thinking ... if i go to the bar and have 5 drinks i feel ok and definatly good to drive ... however if i hit the bowl before i pull out the parking lot ... im so fucked i can't see straight .

everyone saying that mixing the two drugs should have made her more aware ... is talking out their asses

Of course that last paragraph was added to sensationalize what was already too tragic.......

The head-on crash happened July 26 when a minivan driven by Schuler and carrying five children was heading the wrong way on a northbound lane of the Taconic State Parkway.......

Witnesses told authorities they believed they saw the minivan straddling lanes and tailgating before the crash, according to WABC.

How in the fuck do you tailgate oncoming traffic? The Taconic State Pkwy is two or 3 lanes (3 where the accident happened) in each direction, you can only tailgate if you're driving in the right direction.

Body to be Exhumed?

Body to be Exhumed?

This report, though preliminary, could prove interesting in the weeks to come.

The allegation that heat could turn blood sugar to alcohol sounds like a stretch.

( Could an adult-onset diabetic condition/reaction be responsible? )

http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/09/01/new.york.wrong.way.driver/index.html

How did the heat create an empty vodka bottle?

Couldn't help but notice that the husband denies the alcohol flat-out, but has said nothing at all about the allegations of marijuana "residue" in the corpse.

Even if the booze tests are different, a second "positive" for THC will look bad.

Maybe the tailgating before the crash is how she got so drunk?
