Never did anything as big as Tom but, have done 3+ kilo grows outdoors. All we did was plant in spring, harvest in late fall and in between ... leave it alone. They know what do do if we just get out of their way.

Jesus....man, thats insane!
I've always wondered how big one could get a plant, I think I now know!
I'm a professional landscape gardener and I know that that is one hell of a lot of work there... just wish I was a part of it.
Great job and hats off to you Mr Hill

Tom’s been an inspiration for me for years. Here are a couple little girls based off his approach...

it is more nomally the grower, than the beans
Even more factors can come into play as well (at least for outdoor), climate can make a big difference, especially if the plant is gonna push over 2 pounds, far more likely in a extremely sunny place.
Genetics also can make a difference, Sativa and sativa dominated strains are much more likely to get huge than a pure Indica.
Also, the level of concern for security can make a huge difference, a huge plant is more likely to belong to a medical grower in California, than to a grower in his back yard in Texas, or a Guerrilla grower in Oregon.
