You still have a few weeks to take clones.... I've gone as long as 30 days into flower, others have gone longer. :D

I've taken them after that point. It's a lot more stressful on the clones once you're a bit further along. My leaves came out a bit twisted but they are taking off now.

Take it. Budget? Starter Plugs, I have a rule of thumb, let your new equipment pay for itself, either through commerce of what-have-you or Savings...

I use a dome, cheap and easy in perlite/verm. With rooting hormone(powder), I get more than enough new Babies. But I rarely take them as far along as you though. Usually just before 12/12 during the final pruning.

You're going to have to find what works best for you in your situation.

I prefer bubble cloners. I've used rockwool, peat/coco pucks, soil and plain glasses of water. They all work in the right situation.

Get an area that stays 75-80F aaaaaaallllllll the time. That will give you the best chances with any method you choose.

Most important? Do a search on 'cloning' and read everything you can find for the next 2 weeks. Pick a method... read more threads on that method and then get your materials.

Expect to fail a few times, makes that first success all that much sweeter. You may end up taking cuts in another month, if the first batch fails, but you'll be much more prepared by then.


Remember you are only defeated if you give up. :D

thundurkel was their any rooting hormone or gel of some sort applied to the stems prior to them being inserted into the cloner or just straight water?

I pull clones aboutt 12 days into flower i find they root faster and allows the plant to produce larger cuts for you....just my 2 cents

when you pull the males try to get as much root as possible then fill with clean soil itll allow more growth as they flower aside from that good start

Should my friend pull out the whole stub with roots, he just chopped the stem completely

HES FINE CHOPPING IT, however when im sexing a new herb i will gently pull rotts you wont get entire system and you dont want to rip the other roots (if you do it wont kill other plant just dont go crazy) bu doing this it allows more clean soil for new growth.however by no means necessary...my 2 cents

when is the good time to give water to the clones? or do i just spray the inside dome and not the clone itself?

dont water just make sure there in dome sealed for 4-6 days spray or mist twice daily, then after 4-6 days cracklid all day slowly craking further as plants can take it if they wilt close the opening, you can get away w/ spray once daily after first couple days and should root 4-15 days
