growMEDS, VerdantGreen: Thanks for popping in and dropping a few kind words around.

rooted: Welcome to the journal, thanks for dropping in! I've tried the Bubblicious and loved it, but I've yet to try the WR. Can't wait!

Just got done doing another watering (plain water with 1tbsp/gal. of molasses). The girls are really frosting up good, and still putting on a bit of weight (particularly the RH girls). The smells are really starting to come out; the Bubblicious girls are fruity with just a hint of that elusive pink bubblegum smell, the Royal Hawaiian's are getting spicy, and alas the W. Rhino isn't yet too distinctly fragrant, just a nice cannabis smell.

After watering I went through each plant, removing the fans that had gone 100% necrotic and chopping off significant necrosis on any others. There were quite a few to remove on the Bubblicious girls, but not many otherwise. Tons and tons of yellowing going on...a nice fall transition. It's unmistakably the ripening season in there.

We're at day 48 now. I won't take them down before 50, and likely not until 55 or so. I think the Bubblicious girls might go down at 55-57, the RH's closer to 62-65, and the WR might go all the way to 70 (decided to let her go way amber, to push the already couchy medical effect of the W. Rhino genetics). It's coming soon, but sometime not soon enough! It's hard not having your own medicine to medicate with.

Looking fantastic KJ. Dedication pays off

Thanks Scrub! I'd say that dedication is the number one skill to develop if you want to be a good grower. If you have that, everything else will pan out.

Ruby's been beheaded!

Ruby's been beheaded!

So today I decided to go give the girls a haircut. When I was in the cab last night, I found about 8 or so of the little bastard mites trying to web up one of the flowers on Barbie. I immediately ruined their fresh webs and smashed any I could get my grubby little green fingers on. I then went on a larger mite hunt in the cab. There aren't a ton, but they're there, just waiting. I decided that I would go in and take off as much yellow and necrotic foliage as I could, in hopes that many of the eggs and mites would go with them. I figure the girls are close enough to harvest that it won't harm to be a little more chop-happy than usual.

I took quite a bit off of the Bubblicious girls, a bit less off the RH's, and almost nothing on the WR. I also checked out the trich's on each of the major buds and watered them a tad while I was in there (not much, just enough to hold them over until I do a major water on Friday morning). I found that the Bubblicious and Royal Hawaiian girls are both about 40/60 cloudy to clear, and the White Rhino is about 50/50. Harvest time will likely be in this weekend for the Bubblicious, the following weekend for the RH's and WR. I wanted to let the WR go longer, but I have plans to do some major work on the cab soon, and I don't know that I have time to let her go much longer than 60 days.

So during all of this, I got an unexpected surprise. I had just taken Ruby out to trim her up, turned my back to put a few of the others back in the cab, and when I turned around again Ruby's top cola (and the branch down to about halfway) had just toppled over from the weight! I was laughing my ass off. She had been leaning over for quite a while and I didn't want to use a big stick to stake her up with, so I just kept propping her up against the cab walls the best I could. I guess the weight finally just got to be too much. lol.

I decided that instead of playing plant doctor, it was day 50 and I'd just go ahead and chop her top off. Her trich's are about 40/60 clear to cloudy, so she's really not that far off from ripe. Taking parts of her this early will certainly affect the weight of those cola's, but not too much. I took only the part that fell over, so there are still 4-5 good branches left to finish out. Hopefully they'll finish even better for it.

Here are some pics for your enjoyment. I forgot to take one of the cola's once manicured, but I'll get one after they're done hang drying and are ready to go in jars for the cure (they're hanging upside down in a box inside the veg room right now).

you lose potency when you chop them with clear trichs... either way they will give you nice head rush high and they look great

Sure, if you have 100% clear trich's, but this was close to 50% cloudy. This is only about 10 days earlier than I would have taken her anyway, so hopefully it won't affect it too much. It was just one main cola with 2 smaller nugs, so there's still quite a bit left to finish up properly either way.

Thanks for stopping in and posting! Welcome. :joint:

Awesome. Do you have a full plant shot of that White Rhino? And what breeder is that from?

Great job@

Hey Deaner, thanks for stopping in. There are other shots of the WR throughout the journal. I'm not 100% sure who the breeder was, as this came to me as a clone, but I'd bet that it came from Nirvana.

Strains: Thanks for the kind comments. Welcome!

vanbl: Yeah, toppling plants isn't exactly the worst problem a grower could have! Thanks for visiting!
