One of the larger cfl buds I've seen around here for a while.

I just read this whole thread and I must say, fantastic job! That was a heroic display of patience. You really did your head a favor by waiting the extra time. Early harvest sucks.
I have had bad experiences trying to manipulate the high of a strain by harvesting early/late. I think a strain has the high that it has. And it is either done or not. Glad you didn't try to avoid the couchlock by harvesting early. An early harvested indica effect is one of the few things worse than a pure couchlock buzz in my book.
BTW, I have grown out several packs of seed and , contrary to the breeders description, have not had an 8 weeker yet. I am sure they exist but they aren't that common IME.
NL#5 is a potent smoke, I have broke out in a sweat from a few too many puffs. I love the pine taste and smell, too.

I did hold out as long as I could. It didn't get real ripe by the trics, just the 1st show of amber. I have seen a number of experienced growers that say the same thing, you can adjust the high to a point, but only to a point.
I think I'm going to build me a vaporizer for the 'breaking in' of the bud. Many say you get a bit more of head effect from vaporizing. The trim leaf is strong, one good puff seems to come close to where I want to be. The taste of trim is not something I want to get use to though.

These days i dont pay as much attention to amber trichs as much as I do the tiny new trichs. As long as I am still getting plenty of new trichs I dont care how many ambers I have.
What got me questioning the whole amber trich deal was a bud a friend gave me. It had one of the best up highs I have ever had, maybe the best. I would be working my ass off after a puff or two. That bud looked like it had been rolled in dark brown sand. When I looked at it under the loupe it had many burst trichs and almost no clear.....go figure.

The final cut, the bud is all gathered, the 2nd tally was 75 grams wet. Going with same rate of weight loss of the 1st 2 buds, the dry tally should be about 35 grams. Many don't care for the grams/watt, but I'll include for completeness, 0.45 grams/watt. A quite respectable performance for micro grow. At least I think it is, feel free to correct.
So the goal was to do a cheap, good, stealthy micro grow. My goal was at least an ounce of weed(good weed), and that seems to have been met. And it is strong weed, 2 puffs of the trim is enough for me. I will update this thread with a proper smoke report when I get the cured bud. So here's the final pix of the bud. Thanks for all the interest on the grow!

pretty awesome for small cfls (thats a pound per light, which is all alot of guys get)

ironic thing is, it worked so well, i've had to change my grow setup for a while
i want 3 plants going,and 3 plants of the size i got in that tube are out of my comfort zone
really hoping NY goes medical this upcoming year, it could happen
