what are you talkin about optic? Unsexed clones in yours.. in what? I'm lookin to get two of these systems and mod it so i can space the buckets out much further with 2 inch pipe.. was wanting to get 2 systems to run prepetually. Transfer 8 week veg plants from one SCC system to another... so i can have big trees prepetually. So i'll be transplanting 4+ ft tall veg plants ..

Word on the street says they're crankin' out 16XLs to So-Cal and Colorado.

Slight delay from third-party inputs, nothing to worry about as they're going to be upgrading facilities to keep up with the SCCC!

This journal is to detail my first grow, share problems I run into, and hear advice.


My room is 7' x 7' x 8'

2 x 1000 watt, air-cooled HPS lights (used).

1 x 6'' can fan

1 x medium house fan

1 x exhaust fan (window sized).

The Hydroponic system being used is the Undercurrent 8, which has 8 eight gallon buckets each equipped with an air stone to bring oxygen to the roots.

Medium is hydrotron small clay pellets.

Base PPM of water (which is well water) is high at 500-600 PPM.

Nutrients are Foxfarm "Grow big" and "Big bloom", also "Superthrive" vitamin solution.

Strain is Train wreck (6 inch clones in rock wool).

Lighting is 18 on, 6 off.

have you had any trouble keep the PH of those grow big & big bloom fox farm nutes stable? I find it swings two points over night for the first 2-3 days.

"Base PPM of water (which is well water) is high at 500-600 PPM." How much nute do you add on top of that? Seems like a recipe for overfeeding. Your final PPM at this stage should be around 500.

You need to get a water filtration system going it seems.

Do the lids come off those buckets easily, mash, like completely? Was thinking it'd be easier to transplant large plants if they could.

whodi - Yeah bro, I thought of that after you mentioned pulling the root mass through the hole. The bucket lids come off with ease, so you've got nothin' to worry about. Can't wait to see what 8-week perpetual looks like, may follow along.

The best way to remove the roots is, you can push the net pot trough the hole on the led. It's very easy. After that you can just pull them out from the cell.
