Day 92

Day 92

Day 73 of 12/12. This was not a quick finishing nl#5. Oh well, you don't know till you try, I guess. It smells pretty close to done. Some nice pics of the girl and her trics. Not much longer!

trics and more trics

trics and more trics

Day 74 of 12/12 or there abouts. The ripening is not going the way I thought. Ambers are showing, but they are in 'patches'. Few spots here and there. Most of the cola is a mix of clear with a few cloudy. Just too many clear to feel good about cutting. I really wanted to avoid the 'ultimate couchlock' experience. But all those clears, just seems to be wrong to cut yet.

2 tric pictures, 1 with some amber, the other the more 'typical' with clear and cloudy.

Yeah I had that same problem with patches of amber trichomes! Was so confusing. My theory was that they seemed to corespond with bits where I had accidentally rubbed the scissors against it, while trimming above the scrog screen in the very confined space. In fact I could clearly see that in some cases the trichomes themselves were damaged.

I'm lovin' the daily updates, keep it up.

thanks a lot for that info scrubninja , that gives a little more 'grounds for comparison'

so i've just gave the plant a good looking over, seeing a few amber trics sprinkled around with the clear/cloudy

pics didn't really come out too good this time, hit or miss for the most part

today i cut! just the main cola and the largest side cola - i'm 1 day shy of 11 weeks - the pistils are where they should be over 2/3 brown/orange - plant looks done, all swollen and sticky

i'm not thrilled with the tric ratio, but at 11 weeks for what is often a 8 week flowering strain - the risk of going too couch lock has become the big risk

i think that a good number of what i'm calling clear are really milky - anyways this is how you learn, if it's a bit too early i'll do better the next time around with this strain

Day 95

Day 95

Day 76 of 12/12 - 1 day short of 11 weeks. So here's what I got. Cut the main cola and 1 side cola. They weighed in a 55 grams wet. Dry? We'll have to see what that is. I've got 20 cola's left on the plant. From what I recall that a dry gram looks like, all of these smaller cola's should yield at least a gram, some more. So, my guess is between 1-2 oz for the harvest. And now the pic.

thanks for the look aerohead, i was pretty happy with what i got so far

so i couldn't keep my hands off her, just a bit of the trim, but was interesting

not a bad head high at all, quality was nice, this what i was searching for, wasn't sure how the early nl would be
of course trim has never been famous for taste, wasn't horrible, but the after taste wasn't something i'd care for daily
but the harshness was practically nil, smooth as silk, good sign for the cured bud i think
nice head high for a couple of hours, and a very nice come down, no hint of the funky fog that some bud will give you
this was an organic grow, and clear head and smooth smoke is what i hear you get, maybe so.

Where did you get the beans from? I think my strain was very similar and I ran it 13 weeks and the trichs still didn't look that mature, but damn it had an indica stone effect.

i think those two colas right there could be an ounce, they are probably denser then ever!

lordbudly
a very nice thought, the main cola has dried for 4 days, still feels like more than an oz, combined the 2 of them should end up close to an oz
wow thouse 2 buds look reall nice.

dammm 20 cola thats a lot of colas. have a good one on me.

cheesebuds
little colas, but colas - nl really produces the goods - and they're solid little devils - we'll see what the final tally is

love you pix, they've got that same light blue i'm seeing
my pix didn't come out quite so good, cheap camera
seed came from highgrade-seeds, smaller breeder, he has his fans
so far, the trim feels pretty sativa - but that's a long ways from what the cured bud will be like - who knows on that?
so was yours a nl/bubblegum cross that's in the pic?

Day 99

Day 99

The 1st bud went into the jar today. After 6 hours, I of course had to sniff. Wow! Potent odor. Still some of the 'grassy' smell. No surprise, if didn't have that odor, no need to cure, wot?

But the harvest isn't half done. Here's what's left, and should equal to what I have, maybe a bit more.

Day 102

Day 102

The drying is done, the current tally is 15 grams. The wet weight was 55 grams, so that's about 27% of the wet. Pretty much dead on expectation. Naturally hoping for more, but who doesn't?

The smaller cola has been in the curing jar for 2 days. What a smell. Very sharp pine, kind of like pinesol. Grassy odor is going away quick.

The rest gets cut tomorrow, giving her a 24 hr dark period. After that, we'll try a reveg. Hope to clone if nothing else.

And the dry pics, she shrank a bit, but that's what drying is all about.
