I just bought it from the local heath food store. It was like 8.50 thought it was pretty steep my boy gets me organic black strap 4.50. I will use it this time but it better b pretty amazing for that price. I have also used grandmas unsulpherd with good results it is easibly atainable but only has half the nutes of black strap.

I mixed molasses with my regular food regimen. I believe i started using at about 4 weeks from being finished. Make sure you flush properly, i didnt my first try and buds tasted kind of funny.

Blackstrap is used to help soil bacteria. They break down the organic nutes your ladies need. :joint:

I use organic guano teas it is used in every batch even what i call plain water has worm castings and molasses. I have never flushed with organics. my girls usually get waterd with a tea the day before i chop them. I dont think it was mollasses caused your taste issues because my weed tastes great every time. Whith organics you dont have salt build up and think about it nature doesnt flush its plants.

I've used molasses for a long time now. In my opinion it's best to start when the buds have fully formed. The object to using molasses is to thicken the buds, so it seems best to wait until there's something to thicken. I've seen people start using it from the time the first hairs start to show, but that seems like a waste to me. And I've never had a funny taste from using molasses either, maybe a little sweeter, but not what I would call 'funny'. I use it with Pro-mix Bx at 1 Tblspn per gallon.

Actually, the object of using molasses is to chelate the soil and provide sugar that your microherd can feed off of in organic gardening. It is also a source of things like potassium (major), calcium, iron, and magnesium.

I read on here that too much molasses can cause conditions where the plant can't uptake nitrogen causing a deficiency. That is why I do not use much molasses. I add some to my soil at about 1-2 tsp/gal of water when I first build it to boost the microbial activity and I add about a tablespoon to 3 gallons of compost tea for the same reason.
