New to Bongs so this is a noob Question(Dont flame me please)

Ok so ummmm Made my first mistake... Went to my local HS and ask the owner to show me the bongs..... He quickly said you mean water pipes... He was nice about it...

Anyway I went with a beautiful glass one he recommened(I trust him as I have bought stuff in his HS before and he said he really liked this one)... Its not really big.. Like 11 or 12 inches and like $56(Why did I have this funny feeling it was kind of like picking out a dildo for my girlfriend)

Anyway finally to my question.. I noticed when I got home this bong has no thumb hole(I am not sure what it is called) Like the thing some of them have where you keep your thumb on it until you are ready to inhale..

So what is the difference as to why some have this hole and some dont and what does it mean?

instead of letting go of the hole/carb to get air into the bong and you take the hit in.. others these days have the bowl where its like a slide.. you light the bowl suck/inhale till filled with smoke then take the slide/bowl outward to get air into the chamber and allow you to get the huge hit

Funny .. its because while its pretty easy to hole a carb on a cheepo plastic bong its not that easy or wise to sacrifice the structural integrity of a large glass piece for the same purpose.

these bongs, you light it up, let her fill up, and when your almost out of smoke-sucking energy, you lift the bowl, and clear the bong

P.S. I like hot water hits way more than ice hits.

I've never heard of hot water hits. What's it like vs. regular and ice hits?

more moist, kinda opens you up like steam in a shower, smoother, all this is my opinion.

Some of my friends won't smoke that way, but I love it.

When I had my hurricane I did boiling water hits, had to hold it with an oven mit, went down so smooth though. Or well I guess it wasn't boiling once I put it in the hurricane, but it was really hot water.

Wish I could remember my first hit off a bong. I remember seeing the first bong I hit, but not the hit itself. lol
