My Diary... The beginning...

Ha ha ha, freaking awesome! Kushism, I just love the ingenuity of growers. If there are obstacles in the road we just grow around it!!! My new porto AC if tending to condensate about a gallon while out at work(bout 8-10hrs).

As it gets hotter and my porto ac runs more, i notice it's gallon resi filling up every 2 days or so.. Temps outside are getting close to the 100 degree mark, i am looking into a remote thermostat for my window unit to make more efficient use.. that way it will kick on and off depending on the temps in the grow room iteself, not the room the ac is mounted in..

I hear ya kushism, my porto ac is running all the time right now and it fills several gallons a day! Good idea w/ the remote thermostat, let me know how it works out. I will hopefully be moving the setup to a more controllable location to deal w/ the heat!

Ok there are a few more in the new gallery.. hit any of the links.. So i have about 10 days to go.. will be staring to leach in 3 days.. The buds are so heavy and sticky, the og have all been tied up as they have fallen under their own weight.. I think some of the macro close-ups i took came out rather well.. what do you think? I am still working on figuring out my camera and plan on buying a better one for the next run.. I hate how the colors look off and some pics look too dark.. but i guess i was lucky to get these few...

I am so anxious for these gals to finish, its not even funny.. I can;t wait to see how much i get total, the average plant weight, and the final grams per watt.. Plus actually smoking it will be ohhh so nice!!!

Anxiously awaiting comments :)

Nice pics, kushism!
Those macros look good too.
Maybe, try some better &/or brighter lighting to see if that helps with the color. :chin:

I'm all tapped outta rep today.
Makes me feel like I'm being punished! :spank::whip: :biglaugh:
I'll stop by tomorrow.

Those are great pics kush...I've got a crop about the same age, (well, half of one, anyway...)I wish I could take pics like that. tell me about your camera. I'm familiar with older photog equipment, but kinda lost interest and then along came digital cameras. So I'm really out of the loop...are there low cost digital setups for macro these days? It wouldn't surprize me if there were, but I haven't looked into it..I like the borders too, BTW

The camera is a Fuji FinePix e510. it is your basic point and shoot digi cam with a few advanced features and modes.. I am trying to learn about iso, shutter times, white balance and a few others.. I am willing to bet you could find a very similar camera with similar features for less than $200.. I do want a better camera, but for the time being this 1 works, and if i can figure some of the modes out i might get pics i am actually satisified with..

Ok as for the plants.. I am at day 51.. exactly 1 more week and i will cut.. I am starting to leach tonight.. my excitement grows daily.. i dunno if it's just because it;s mine, but i am so super impressed with the bubba.. it looks absolutely out of this world.. The OG is going to be wicked for sure, and i can already tell it will taste amazing and knock your sox off..

ok here is where i welcome advice and opinions.. At what stage is it better to manicure the buds.. when the plants are 1st cut down or after a few days?? is it better to manicure and dry them on the stalk and let it dry the rest of the way before cutting it off the stem?? I am looking for it to dry slowly that is why i am thinking of keeping it on the stem.. once the stem snap, but don;t break i will turkey bag it, burping it every few hours over a 2 week period.. at that point it will have it's max flavor and smell.. I have seen this method work for my partner who gave me the cuts... I know there are alot of opinions on curing.. what do you guys think?

I manicure at all stages.

At chop. the big fan leaves come off. And, the whole plant hangs on a line.

A few days later, I'll break down the plant into it's main branches...This is when I get the secondary fan leaves. (Anything w/ no visible trichs.)

After a few more days, or so, I'll break down a lttle more and put them into paper grocery bags. Then I hang the bags on the line.

When they are dry enough (I like 'em a bit BEFORE they "snap" )(But, that can be "mold risky"), I put them into jars. At this time, I'll take off all the interior fans.
But I don't go too deep here.
I leave all the frosty bud leaves intact to cure wth the buds.

I separate the frosty trim when I'm rolling a joint, &/or packing a bowl, etc... :joint:

I have a 1 gal ziplock bag that all my frosty trim goes into.
:listen2: (I keep it at room temp)
When that gets full, I make bubble hash. :yummy:

Thank for the invite, and for checking things out.. Do more than lurk, you comments, advice and opinions are welcome.. Honestly the frames so look kinda cool.. Thanks everyone for all the kind words and support.. I am a short timer now, 6 days to go... will keep you all updated..

Another question.. My friend says pure ph'd water si good enough to leach with.. Now all the advice he has given me has been spot on so i am willing to trust him, but.. I have seen several products made just for leaching.. Is there any advantage to using these.. I am particularly looking at either Clearex - Salt Leaching Solution or Final Phase Cleaning Flush Solution by Advanced Nutes.. Any feedback would be awesome!

i find ph adjusted water is sufficient when growing in soil because the soil usually has enough stored nutes in it of the immobile elements. if you see any tendency of the leaves starting to dry out or crisp you would need to feed a finisher product.

in hydro i reccomend you feed with immobile elements (i.e. zink, iron etc) during the leaching phase or the leaves will go crisp and the plant might start eating itself. i personally use the final phase product from an, which i find keeps the leaves soft and gives a nice flush.

immobile elements are the nutes the plant cannot transport from the leaves to the new shoots by itself, such as iron and zink for example. these helps the leaves keep soft and strong. if you get deficiencies of immobile elements during the leeching phase you migth loose weight.

mind you i always feel responcible to warn you that i might be wrong about either of these statements and that i am no doctor. basically i hate giving advice because there is always a flaw factor and i feel responcible for what i say.. so please read up on what i just said, and please challenge my statements if you deem them wrong, or ask if something is unclear, enlish is my second language only ..

..just my honest :2cents: with the best intentions. :joint:

peace

Thanks for the re-enforcement. i am using a hydro setup, and have noticed some crispy leaves, so i did my 1st flush last night with ph'd water.. watched the ppm spike from the normal 240 to over 700... so i went to the local shop and grabbed some final phase today, just got home actually.. I plan on draining the rez and refilling with ph'd water and final phase tonight.. and i will probably rinse and repeat for the next 3 -4 days, then finish the last 2-3 days with ph'd water..

Thanks arctic and all, this has been so awesome being able to actually share this and so much about it..
