Babies are looking good, seems like the ac and venting changes made a huge difference.. Glad to see it's working out.. I subscribed, and will be watching with interest :)

Ordered TENT and 400 Watt Ballast/BULb

After witnessing VerdantGreen stupendous grow and others (growMED, rebo et.al.) I when ahead and purchase a grow tent (39"x39"x78") and 400 watt HPS ballast & bulb, from hgtsupply, to upgrade my current setup.:woohoo:

I will probably change my soil mix a little using equal parts FFOF and Light Warrior with a little Earthworm Castings. FFOF maybe a little to hot initially, but the seedling seem to have adjusted.

Now that my Portable air conditioner is keeping the temps stable the added accessories would further enhance the grow environment.

Sorry to ramble on, just getting contact high from seeing VerdantGreen beautiful pictures:laughing:

might be a good idea to keep the top level of soil pretty dry in those pots you topped up - just so as the stems dont rot - perhaps water them from the bottom most of the time.

My concern for heat dissipation was the reason I bought the hgtsupply GROWBRIGHT tent. The unit has 2x6" vents on the sides to specifically cool the light. That is, the outside air comes directly from the portable air conditioner==>ducting==>CoolTube==>Ducting=Exhaust to room. I may be able to exhaust using the air cond. exhaust, but that's going to involve more carpentry:mad:

I raise the girls about eight inches closer to the light. Its pretty cool in the cab. Will post pics in a couple days.

UPDATE on the second BLUERYDER: Has not broken through the surface of the Jiffy Pellet, but its only been 24 hours.

yeah i was going to suggest that you up the size and wattage of your grow after hearing you say the room the cab is in is locked all the time. maybe just get a 600 or keep the current 400 and use the actual corner of the room as the grow. and second suggestion is that phing ro water is pointless as it has absolutely no buffering capabilities, cuzz its so "plain" it will take on whatever the ph of the soil is which is going to be in the 5.8 range for new out the bags ff soils untill that oyster shell getts to bringin things up, 3rd suggestion you already did and it was to remove the hydro corals from the top of the soil as they have a pretty high ph themselves and when you pour water over them it just washes the dust off them and into the soil and effectively throwing the ph out of whack.

with ro i just water it in unadjusted out of the filter, especially with ffof soil and any soil/soiless medium for that matter. but yes very nice setup with the dedicated A/C unit for the cab/tent. seddling look good maybe the soils a little on the hot side for them and the corals were messing the ph up a little and making it hard for them to get on track as fast as they should. also i would get some 1.5" steel pipe to act as a spacer between the ceramic socket and base of the socket body to center the bulb in that cool tube trust me a centered bulb goes a long wayyyyy.

Purchase a small bag of HAPPY FROG potting soil to mix with the Ocean Forest, Light Warrior and worm castings.

Received notification UPS delivery of my Grow Tent and ballast on July 9th.

sorry to lazy to move pots and take a picture of Mini Legs, but she is a bit smaller than Long Legs.

I touched the leaves of all and was rewarded with a nice citrus like fragrance

I think your ventilation setup will work excellently!!! tha ac unit keeping that bulb cool, and your exhaust whisking all that air out before it can get to warm..

I have a point and shoot Canon PowerSHot SD1100 IS camera. My camera has a digital macro option that I've been messing with, but nothing microscopic.

So what type of camera do I need to shoot trichomes?
