i am using a basic point and shoot.. It's a Fuji FinePix e510 5.2 megapixel. It has a ton of options, i am trying to figure white balance and brightness.. It has 2 macro options, a regular and a magnified one.. i take the trichome shots from about 3-7 cm away, in magnified macro mode.. if i can figure out the white balance and brightness, the pics should look even better.. Here after this harvest i am looking into getting an Olympus either

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1450

or

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1367&fl=2

They are a bit pricey, but they are very nice cameras with ton's of features. I have actually had these recommended as they have Awesome white balance and brightness options, and fantastic macro settings... I am all about the macro, i love seeing trichomes close-up!! :)

She smelled so sweet when rubbed, but she was not growing.

The grow now consists of 2 LOWRYDER#2 Feminized and 2 Blueryder (undetermined sex).

I am going to schedule germinating Northern Lights fem seeds soon.

Tent I ordered

Tent I ordered

Grow Tent - Size Original 39 x 39 x79 about 69 cubic ft.

Aso included a Digital Electronic 600 watt HPS & MH Ballast with both HPS & MH bulbs.

Vegan changed my mind to forget the 400 just get the 600 watter.
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=2493780&postcount=9

https://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=45680

The tent will be about 10 sqft with the 600 watter overhead should provide adequate ( 60watts per ft) light:woohoo: coverage.

Good advice

Good advice

if you're lookin' at a tent that's got a 3x3 or 4x4 footprint, the smallest light you'd want is a 600w. i rock a 1kw in a 39"x39" hydrohut. you can find a good amt of tent info here: http://icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=29986

i's a good idea to ALWAYS go overkill on your exhaust fan - you can always slow it down with a controller, but can't get it to move more air than it's capable of. carbon scrubbers, air-cooled hoods, turns in ducting, corrugated ducts, etc; all add up and will tax your fan heavily.

FIX YOUR EXTERNAL REFLECTOR ON THAT COOL TUBE

FIX YOUR EXTERNAL REFLECTOR ON THAT COOL TUBE

you have it a bit knocked off of the tube in the pic, also that configuration of the reflective sheets facing that way spreads the light out too thin for that set up put them together the other way (i know the other side is not as shiny, but it will definately work better) so the external reflector shoots straight down instead of out to the sides like that. i have the same on and did a lumen or lux meter test with the external off and on both ways spreading wide and shooting down and shooting down is the best possible way to make the light penetrate a dense canopy or reach lower growth. the other way (the way you have it assembled now) the lux meter read the same as if i had no external reflector on it just the one on the inside.

Blazeoneup Thread

Blazeoneup Thread

Just discovered Blazeoneup's thread. Excellent read

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=59380

Blazeoneup is a master grower whose soil recipe is a proven winner!

I'll be using his recipe as soon as I am able to calculate the proportions for my small grow.

I am also trying to reduce the amount of soil I have left over.

First part:

Some conversions to keep in mind:

1 cubic ft ~ 28 liters

2 cubic ft ~ 56 liters

1 gallon ~ 3.785 liters ~ 16 cups

3 gallons ~ 11.355 liters ~ 48 cups

4 gallons ~ 15.15 liters ~ 64 cups

5 gallons ~ 18.925 liters ~ 80 cups

BLAZEONEUP's recipe produce 30 gallons of mix, but we want just 4 x 3 gallon pots or 12 gallons total.

so, 12/30=.40 or 40% of BLAZEONEUP mix

Second part:

Conversions to keep in mind:

8 tablespoons = 1/2 cup = 4 ounces

12 tablespoons = 3/4 cup = 6 ounces

16 tablespoons = 1 cup = 8 ounces

24 tablespoons = 1.5 cups = 12 ounces

Let's modified Blazeoneup's recipe to produce 12 gallon:

Modded BLAZEONEUP MIX
using Ocean Forest

.4 x (2 cubic feet of pro mix) = 56liters x .40=22.4 liters=22.4liters/3.785liters=5.9 gallons=94.4 cups

.40 x[2 cubic feet of Fox Farm Ocean Forest (1 bag @1.5cf actually)] =
56liters x .40=22.4 liters=22.4liters/3.785liters=5.9 gallons=94.4 cups

.40 x (1 cubic foot of course perlite)= .40 x 28 liters = 11.2 liters = 11.2liters/3.785liters= 2.95 gallons = 47.34 cups

.40 x (¾ cup dolomite lime)= .40 x 12 tablespoons = 4.8 Tbs

.40 x (1½ cups blood meal)= .40 x 24 tablespoons = 9.6 Tbs

.40 x (1½ cups bone meal)=
.40 x 24 tablespoons = 9.6 Tbs

please check my work make sure its correct or approximately right

So we end up with ~14.75 gallons or ~ 4 x 3.6875 gallon buckets).

@socbutter - Looking Great, It's awesome to have some peeps growing the same thing in a different way at the same time...

Between Me, You, and Rebo we should really get to know these lowryder's..

Just curious... Why did you choose autoflower the first go?

Lack of confidence. Autoflower + feminzed + lowryder cuz of space and I wanted to minimized the number of variables.

But this forum is the greatest place to be to see the various methods of growing cannabis. My little cab was an essential test bed for me to experience first hand how to grow.

Now that my environmental factors are known, I am ready to start growing bigger plants in soil. After reading Burnone and Blazeoneup soil mix threads now all I have to do is mix my soil provide an ideal environment (tent+600watt MH & HPS bulbs+Carbon Filter+fans) and add water thru harvest. Simple.

Unfortunately, I had to go thru the hands on process to come to this conclusion.

BTW My tent arrived yesterday, but the 600 watt lights/ballast will be here next week. Until the tent is setup I will wait to germ my Northern Lights feminized seeds. I like feminized cuz my footprint is small and I want to stock up on smokes before I start trying other varieties.

My goal is to have 4 different mums in my veg cab (current cab) and pull off clones to grow enough for me and my buddy. I want to try everything.:joint::joint::joint:

Love your energy... I'm exactly the same way.

I wanted quick... I'm already planning for some Quality.

I think next go, I will run 4 plants on my deck in soil... and four plants in the closet in DWC.

My goal is to have enough product to always have a variety on hand to smoke... and to make sure that anyone who comes over to hang.. will be able to take a few samples home for free.

haha... I love to live in abundance.

and... Who knew that growing could be so damn fun?

Can't wait to see your progress.

Peace

Great growth for 10 days

I have no real life reference has to how tall these ryders are going to grow. DO you?

The seed cover says at least 45 cm. (18inches, 1 foot 6 inches).

As for yield MDANZIG"S BLUERYDER automatic 10-20g/plant and LOWRYDER #2 automatic FEMINIZED SEEDS 30-60g/plant

Minimum yield 20g from 2 Lowryder
Minimum yield 60g from 2 Blueryder

At least 80g from 4 plants ~ 2.82 ounces:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
Do you know if thats about right?:yeahthats Anyone?
