Jake- thanks for the good words, friend. They're always welcome:)

It is a shame that we have to secure gardens so much. Someday this crop will be legal for all, plummeting prices and hopefully ending this nonsense. Untill then, hopefully the dogs will ward off any fools looking to jack me. I'll be here 24/7 the last month or so though, will need to make a fat costco run and just suck it up. Also hoping some of the burnout members can make it up here to help sit.

N- hah bro mine is a wal mart special, too. Except it was like two hundo...still a bit cheaper than a legit tank though. Maybe I'll upgrade next yr. Nice to have around after hours of workin in the sun- do you think my sweaty ass will f up the water? Just started swiming in it...and I dunno about keeping it from going green. Until now, I've just kept maybe 3-500 gallons it it and replenished as it got low. Now that it's full and won't be drained often, maybe that will bring algae problems. Might have to hit up a pool store...

Dude, I love my dogs so much. Got my female back in December when she was 7 months. So smart and ALL love. She's actually the better watchdog, goes after anything making a sound. Picked up my male, Barack, in february when he was 11 months. He's got a bark so loud and strong, it's good to have him around, even though he thinks the best place to dry his slobbering mouth is a pant leg. How the hell do I teach him manners??The Scion looks way faded there...great pic :)

First off Fisher, great thread and beautiful grow. Living in TX I get all starry eyed seeing these beautiful ourdoor grows. Shame that when you don't have to worry about the law you have to worry about people ripping you off. Not surprising I guess but I had never thought that you lose one problem only to gain another. Anyway, I will be watching this thread and cheering you on.

Hey how do you guys make those big containers? Is that just pvc pipe with poly wrapped around it? And if so do you leave the bottom of it open to the ground?

Thanks - Jenn

Mine are Smartpots. I paid about 60$ for my 200's and 25$ for my 65s. I had the 200's made custom... shallower and wider than their usual 200's. They are gopher proof and reusable after a machine wash. Put some hygrozyme in the wash and they should be like new.

Fisher's are round cages of steel mesh with landscaping cloth inside to retain the dirt. Cool design. Way less expensive. I just looked back at your first photos posted and saw something about a gopher stake. Do you have gopher issues?

Serriously, that MJ Inc doc.. that was the CNBC one?

I eat rippers. Try me.

fisher, please forgive me for possible threadjacking, my friend - no offense intended, but nomaad just made me LMAO when I saw that pic of his Choco Lab.

nomaad, yeah it was that CNBC special - really poor piece in my opinion. I appreciated the interviews with that 1 dude, but that local politician was out only for himself - my guess which is backed by cynical mistrust of politicians in general. That pic of your Choco Lab is AWESOME! I love labs - have had a few in my time, and would love to have more! Chocos are, in my opinion, the smartest among yellow and black - I have never met a silver, red, or any other wicked color. But, based upon that look in your Choco's eyes, I would seriously be checking your crop, because you may have a ripper in your midst - your Choco looks completely and utterly STONED OUT OF HIS GOURD! Awesome!

Best to you, fisher, and to you too, nomaad!

If I am guilty of threadjacking, I too apologize. I'll re-post the guard lab where he belongs- in his garden's thread.

Nomaad that is such a badass pic nothing wrong with that here :)

Bluemonk- Thank you, glad to give some others out of the area an idea of how we do it up here :)

Yeah jenn, I went the cheap route...open on the bottoms. I almost set something down so the roots wouldn't even touch the clay/rock beneath, but it would've cost a grip to do em all. Here's to hoping it doesn't mess me up.

Havn't had any gopher issues (knock on wood). Those little fuckers have destroyed my plants in years past, but in this specific garden I'm not quite as worried. The ground is all rock and very hard clay. Actually still have a chirping spike that has drove them out before. Hope I don't have to use it.

Alright coals are hot, I'll see you cats later

I'm a gas BBQ man. Not that I don't appreciate good charcoal and hardwoods... If I had a serving wench, I'd be like "start the coals, wench." (that's not meant to be sexist. she is, by job description a wench. in this hypotetical situation, its 1470.) But instead, I have a wife. And she is more on the "Could you please *turn on* the grill, dear? Thanks" tip.

I BBQ 8-9 months a year, 5-6 times a week. I would love to get a wood smoker, though. That would be nice. Whatcha cooking?

Whatcha cooking?
hot and spicy marinated chicken breast from local mountain market...actually not bad

Big fan of BBQ though, course that's about all I've got out here. Got any good cheap unique ideas?

Thanks Teeg, they'd be one hell of a tag-team on a racoon or something trying to get the chickens (not that I'd want it to happen).

Babba I'm tryin not to dissapoint :) Took some cool shots today, maybe I'll head to town and upload them tomorrow.

If all you have to cook on is a BBQ, you should i would go with kabobs. The whole idea of food on a stick was concieved by dirty guys on hills. I am sure of this. They cook fast and don't involve a lot of cleanup. And they are yummie as fuck. buy or make a bunch of different marinades and brush it on when they are nearly done. Don't forget the big chuncks of onion. If it were up to me, every other chunk on any given kabob would be onion. Do you have refrigeration? I would say its a good idea if you make a bunch of them at once, spend an hour turning a weeks worth of food into stick meals. Pull them out of your cooler as needed.

Sorry, not so unique... all I could come up with that was cheap and not like "a steak".

How primitive are your accommodations?

Nomaad you're cracking me up dude :)

Dirty guys on hills...lol oh man fits me to a T

I really like the idea though, will for sure be picking up kabob supplies including onions on my next trip to the store. No fridge, but I have two Coleman extremes that actually work alright in the heat. Thanks for the tip :)

My accommodations are...well, primitave. Definitely roughing it this season...you can call me anything but soft, hah. Started out in a 26' kushy travel trailer but had to sell it as cash was running out. It was nice, but I have a little more space in this current setup. Got two Coleman 'geosport' five-sided screen rooms setup next to each other. Sleep on an air mattress and chill in one, cook on a propane stove and eat in the other. I've got a lot riding on this crop. If things work out I should be able to put a roof over my head by winter. Nobody said this was easy...

Nomaad,
You can inject capsicum oleoresin (the hot pepper derivative, available through, oddly,"hot sauce" web sites.) Use a search engine to source and buy it,any of them will do....then,inject into the paint-balls with a syringe and seal the injection site with a drop of silicon sealant. The paintballs can be held upright in ice trays while the silicon dries, only a drop is needed. Epoxy might work, but might also degrade the pellet's skin.
Then, chaos. I suspect the "official" cop versions are only available to actual cops,to prevent "civilian stupidity".
Great looking grows,y'all, this is a great thread!

Cheers!

Beautiful encampment. I have lived worse for worse reasons.

I can feel you on the "lot riding on this crop" sentiment. I think we're both going to kill it. Its outdoor in northern California. You're obviously not half as stupid as some of the monkeys that pull shit like this off up here.
