*UPDATED* 7/22/2009 with problem pics :(

First Indoor Flowering

Greetings all, after drooling over everyones indoor flowering chambers for years we have finally setup our own. We have a seperate Sprout/Veg Chamber(4 flouros) that we used, we know its not optimal but always worked for our outdoor vegging/flowering. The following will be the first in which we hope are many diaries to come from the result of this tent. Pictures will be updated at every available moment and with your :1help: Help, problems which we are sure we will run into will need solving will be solved. :1help:

As of now everything is going better then we ever had hoped. We have 5 toatle, 3 CH9 Mendocino and 2 Double X both feminized.

And onto the setup and info followed by pics and a few questions..

More info to come on our soil mix as it was the heated topic of discussion and didnt go my way:)

El Cheapo Sprout/2 week veg chamber: X2 4' Cheap Flouros/ballast (4 4' 20w flouro bulbs all together)
We germ'd 6 CH9 Feminized Double X and 6 CH9 Mendocino. All "popped" and were placed in our soil mix in 3gal containers out of the 12, 11 sprouted and became gorgeous. The climate changed and our outdoor grow plan went out the window. I know this is not an ideal veg chamber(we have never used it for one just simply a start before they go outside) but we had to make due until the tent came. When the tent arrived we chose 5 of the best "looking" plants which were 2 CH9 Double X and 3 CH9 Mendocino.

Tent: GrowLabs 80( GL80 )
Exhaust and odor control: Can-9000 Filter joined with a Can-Fan 4" venting out the top of the tent.
Intake and cooling: Passive intakes along with a 6" inline duct fan fixed at the bottom.
Lighting: Yieldmaster II Supreme, 400w HPS, Lumatek 400w with Superlumen switched *ON*

Current Temps: running 12/12 67 F avg during night cycle 78 F avg during day cycle. Humidity is extreamly low.

They are in 4 gal pots in a pro-mix..mix, they started in our veg chamber(described above) and are now 5 days into flowering. We are also using the "LST" method goal is to maximize harvest from this box with the space applied.

Neuts we have are Pro Blend Bloom and Grow, along with Liquid Karma.(All the soil mixes)

Obviously discrete is not a concern, remote Home location and being the homeowner along with security being our proffesion we are not worried. Years of great outdoor grows have provided no human contacts and the house is as much self maintained as it can be. This is a finished basement room and has 3 locked doors before it is reached.

The plan for the next batch is to use a 400w MH bulb to veg. Thanks for looking and reading and any tips or info would be greatly appreciated.

A few noticable problems whether they are neut related or lockout i am unsure. They seem just to be effecting the earlier growth. The water is PH tested, we are in the process of getting our water tested.

The problems seem universally alike(visually) between the plants, only 2 are showing these by the way. These photos were taken the same day as the ones above and all new growth looks very healthy i feel like 5 is to many and their choking each other out(light wise)?

*Update after a joint we realized the problems showed originated in the veg chamber(4 homedepot el chepo flouros)
This sprouting method under the flours has always worked fine since we are outdoor growers but the current unstable weather has inspired this indoor operation. A new veg tent is in the works :)

Sorry for picture quality and randomness of some of them, new camera and alot of excitement more exstensive organized posted photos to come along with progression.

hey sednal - we are at pretty simlilar stages in flower so it will be interesting to follow this.

you said you use the passive intake vents on your tent. i have a tent as well and i use my passive intakes when the lights are on but when they are off i have to seal them up so light wont get in, do you do the same, or did you build some sort of light block?

i built a Dark vent and currently have it taped to 2 of the long vents, The tent is in a small room in a basement and is light sealed during the night cycle anyways so kinda overkill. I dont want to wear out the velcrow on the vent flaps so thats why i did that. We have thought about getting another canfan to a/c the light and perminetly close the flap vents.

btw you cant see the dark vents they are on the vents facing the walls :( i have the one next to the inline closed perminetly. Airflow just from a single canfan 4" is amazing....we were just thinking about running the exhaust through the light and out the top to kill 2 birds with one stone but i dont know if the 4" fan will have the cfm to do it through the Yieldmaster and then out does anyone have any thoughts?

Hey man good looking set up, great looking plants, very bushy...
sorry to hear about your plant troubles.. I got something kinda like that on one of my plants atm, I think it could be a cal-mag def.. check out the infirmary thread...

As for the number of plants, I ran 5 plants in my tent and it got a lil over grown in there

My tent is a lil bigger then yours... just a thought.. these were 15" when flipped to 12/12

very nice, interested to see how that can filter work out for you, considering ordering the exact same one.

it is amazing....the negative preasure created ajoined with the can-fan 4" which i could have gone with the 4" HO or 6" is more then i expected, we have negative preasure in the room with a 6" inline duct intake. We originally wanted to a/c the light, but temps arnt a problem and 4" to 6" converters are large in space.....and space is something needed.

aside note to Mr. Tony we spoke exstensivly with a person who runs multiple can-9000 due to space restrictions and has nothing but the best to speak of them. Like any other filter service as needed.

In the original post there is a picture with a title of Canopy With Light On there is a plant in the most forward right corner(the tiny one) this is the one i am thinking of removing any ideas?

Hahaha yah i went super over kill and got the 6" canfan HO.. when i had it running through my tent it would like suck in the tent hard, when i had the flood table in there i had to put venting tubes or it would suck so hard it would cut off the air supply and start making scary noises

Well that pic i posted, there 4 big ones were in the center, the lil one was in the back corner... it WANTED to live and pushed its way up... it ended up being the smallest yielding plant.. but it was also the coolest smelling and tasting after cured... some food for thought.

for sure. I'm considering running one on a GL40 with a 150 inside.

you order from BGH?

YUP, they are amazing...cant beat the price and customer service; consider this.....size of the filter for the GL40
you may run into problems.

oh I'm going to be pushing through the filter. even the 2600 would be to big to be inside.

I wish i could go for a gl60 and a 250 but my space is off by just a couple inches.

I just want to make sure I have the smell covered. I straight up had to give away my plants last grow because i couldn't contain the smell and I just can't go through all the hard work to do this again.

let me tell you this if you have some space around the tent the sides are flexable...the can-9000 with a 4" centi blower if the room has neg preasure from the fan you will be fine smell wise, the same friend has a similiar "condition" :( MOVE AWAY FROM PEOPLE ;)

pretty sure I'm gonna rock an S&P td100 100cfm should be more than adequate for a tiny ass tent.

How much longer are you going to veg?

Are you going to remove any of the lower growth ?

removed some of the "yellowed and dieing" early growth leaves and going to remove a few more. I really am choking them by having 5 in there, going to pull the weakest girl out. They are 3 days into flower..12/12 why i waited to post i didnt know the static temps the lamp would put off in the chamber. What you dont see is the ciruclating clamp fan for the tent and the temp/hum monitor. WE ARE HAPPY, i just ordered a 400w MH bulb for my lumatek for vegging(They dont veg fast and vigourously enough for me in our current sprout/veg chamber. the undergrowth doesnt get the lumens it needs.

Aside note dont bust my balls on the veg :) i wanted to veg them under the hps a weak LST'd but WE decided to go 12/12 3 days ago.

i voted for leave all 5 in, but it is a tough decision

i would be interested to hear others thoughts on how the yield would be impacted.
