Hey weatherbox no problems switching from 18 to 20 hrs of light just a lot more growth. I dont know what it is but they love 20/4 I use to go 24 hrs but then I tried 18 and didnt get enough growth and went 20 bam explosive growth. Did you see the new pics in my thread thats 14 days of veg there very bushy everyday you can see growth. Just for shits and giggles try some liquid light you can pretty much what them grow right in front of ya.

haha maybe if i do hydro after this grow.. i wont this time because it doesnt look like it's organic and i want this grow to be strictly that. im going to try the switch to 20/4 for a few and see what happens though thanks for the advice.

Scroging while lsting is no problem, i would just top whenever you need, and let it get new growth again for a week, so it doesnt get too stressed.

Nice bushes by the way really short and compact, really good grow so far man.

thank you! so far i've only bent them over once at the main stem. i haven't seen a necessity to lst any of the new bushy growth because they are well, so bushy! haha. heres some pics of them with the screen installed. i think they are shat pics but aye can't win em all. what do you guys think so far? is it time to trim/take away up some more of the lower growth? or should i just let them be because they look green and lush all over to me at least. i can't see much of that lower growth being a problem as far as stealing energy from the top growth goes.

Right on! Looks so dialed in for an awesome harvest. Just a little space to fill in and you'll be sitting on your ass for two months hoping nothing goes wrong.

hopefully its all smooth sailing mashup :O whats trpping me out though is that the purple lady which obviously looks like a very sativa pheno is bushier and has shorter node spacing than the white rhino!? haha wierd strain man.
speaking of things going wrong, my power went out today for about an hour while i was out. i have my fans plugged into the bottum of a 15 amp socket and the timer was plugged into the top. i noticed that when i put pressure on the lower part of the timer the power would slowly start to give out and when i released that pressure by putting some on the top of the timer and pushing it closer to the wall the power would immediately kick back on. so i found that the timer being top heavy would lean outwards from the socket putting pressure on the center of my socket where the black and red reset buttons are located. i hope this was the issue becuase i can't see a 4in can fan, 400w mh/hps, and small oscillating fan killing power like that. so i moved the timer onto the power strip with my fans. hopefully this fixes everything.. what do you guys think? any other issues i should be warry of? all of my gear is running on one power strip now, but it can support the wattage easily.

damnit! my patience has been tested to the limit! all i want to do is flower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i snipped off a decent amount of lower growth from both plants. if it wasnt getting light or it was starting to wilt and discolor i removed it. it seems like the old growth thats low on the stalk starts to discolor and wilt. alot of my growth seems extremely healthy though! looking forward to the flip ASAP ._.

Dam with patience like that you better go hydro. I plan on flipping mine next week I hope if I do it'll be 3 1/2 weeks veg in the system plus they were in the cloner from the time of cut for three weeks so all together from time cut 6 1/2 weeks bam in to flower....think about it

i am rounding the month and one week mark from seed to now.. it's not that im impatient i guess its just that i am nervous and very excited to see how my first grow turns out. also i kind of made this promise to myself to take a drug holiday and not smoke until harvest.. i've smoked three times since the start of this grow and its been a pure test of will! anyways, it's all about the end product right? i am definitely going to try hydro for my next grow. i have not decided if i will attempt to keep that all organic or not.. im just taking it one medium at a time until i find what i like best. who knows maybe i'll end up loving this the best? all naturalll haha.. there are many reasons i was drawn towards the idea of organics.
btw: i put them on 20/4 and the growth has increased alot from what i have observed so far and its only been three days. thanks man. you think i should put them back on 18/6 a few days before i flip to 12/12?? im worried 20/4 to 12/12 might fuck with them? maybe im just paranoid.

A pot holiday oooh I didnt know that. You better be careful when your shits done its gonna knock ya on your ass. They love that 20/4 its better than 24 I think they like that little nap time. About switching from 20/4 12/12 dont go 18/6 just go straight to 12/12 it wont fuck em up at all there still gonna stretch 1 1/2 to 2 ft. How about a new pick they might be ready to flip right now and you dont even know it. Be paranoid its good.

Updates: think its time for the flip? i was under the impression the screen should be 80-90% full. also, i threw in a pic of the northern lights clone i received today.

newp.. its all from seed and this is my first grow ever.. both seem really tight and compact but i guess that could all change with an hps during flowering? i know that white rhino (indica) stays fairly compact i believe it states the most it grows is 1.5 meters.. the most info i could get about the purple lady (haze x indica blend) is that it grows from 110 - 150 cm.. "not too tall."

Fun facts: So the plants love a little molasses every other watering. I also am feeding them pura vida grow nutes every third watering (the recommended dose for flowers). All of this is mixed into RO agua.
The NL #5 clone, which you can see a little of in the wr4 pic, was burnt to shit when i transplanted it into a fox farms ocean forest, worm castings, and perlite mix. it is growing now but will probably not yield much at all when i start flowering.

So I'm doing a little trimming today and when I look closer at the Purple Lady I notice small pistils beginning to shoot out. Why is she in flowering?? These plants have been on a 18/6 light schedule and I moved them to 20/4 after it was recommended. There is not way that she should be putting out pistils! This is about week 6 of veg. Whats up with this?? Any suggestions as to why or how this is happening would be great thanks!

haha yeah.. i freaked out and posted in the sick plants/problems. i did a little research while i waited for responses and found out it's normal. embarasssinggg hahaha jp. how are you biggreen!? i think i should be making the flip within this upcomming week (probably friday). what do you think?
