Fuck the name game. The proof is in the smoke. Call it a banana if you want.

I picked up a 'Headband' and a 'Green Crack' clone from a LA based club over the weekend.
$11 each, healthy and well rooted in rockwool.

I've been in the med circle for some time and have smoked many 'versions' of 'Headband' that have all varied slightly but seemed derivative of the 'sour' family to me. So my hopes are not too high that this is any kind of 'elite' or original. I just hope it smokes good.

Most of what I got that people have called 'green crack' has been that same mango-ey sicky sweet smell that translates true to the palete and that hard hitting stone. When I asked for GC, at first the guy said they were all out. Then he says, "oh wait let me check in the back." Then he comes back with one and says it was mislabled and swears its green crack. I wanted green crack, so he came up with green crack.
So we shall see if he pulled the ol' switcharoo on me!

I have several friends that work at dispensaries and they claim to change the 'name' of strains that aren't selling to give them new life and move them of the shelf.

This is LA after all, "land of 1000 kushes" (I didn't coin the phrase, but I find it to be both clever and true.)

Like when the skunk first came in and we were able to double profit margins on that well the Headband is the same go for 800 azipper down here. Its chunky resinous and some folks just can`t get enough of it. Imagine the tackiest chunk of thick resinous bud you ever choked up on and you get the Elite Headband.
Now back to my mex brick.

I just don't understand why people flip strain names on new phenominal cuts (although its all in the family, you said yourself that they aren't similar at all). A related hybrid crossed with a selfed keeper from the original clones mother, to form something thats "not similar" to its original? Not sure if that was the intention in use of the Headband name, and if its a striking coincidence I apologize to whoever, but it just fuels the never ending battle to keep track of illegal genetics. Let me explain. Headband/Original Diesel/Diesel #1/Daywrecker has been a prized clone of its own, as a heavier yielding, more indica example in the diesel family. I believe its exact lineage to be 91'Chemdog x Massachusetts Super Skunk (East Coast Sour Diesel being a cross between 91'Chemdog x (MSS x DNL, DNL being a cross between (NL x Shiva) x Hawaiian), but I will check my facts for parent order and correct. Sour Diesel (assuming your using the ECSD cut, or a very good representation) has the same mother as the Headband that I've known an smoked, and OG Kush (assuming its one of the original cuts) is an S1 seed of 91' Chemdog. So I guess they are related some, but not enough to claim its name as a new version IMHO. Just my 2 cents though, not knocking.

Made a bogus trip to Venice Beach to see a chik..... totally bombed out, went to a club... snatched a g of band for 30 bux..... got the plumpest bean out of it....... Now moma stands about 7ft tall, 3ft wide.... and is just greasy as diesel hell....... I guess nature reached out to me that day......cheers to quality organic band!!!

This thread really only seemed to bother one person on a personal level, why is that ?

When someone calls you son, in a belittle like manner, what would be a more hard ass come back, Grand Baby ?

Oh well , it was a fun read.
I Hope everyone gets what they want.
Take care

"That's Hippy Headband ... don't puff too much ... it's a real day wrecker" words of wisdom from a Nug Slinging Deadhead to I & I ... puff too much? I did ... and it did wreck my day ... maybe he was using Name Recognition to sell me something ... IDK ... but it was Dieselish (more sweet and sour than just sour) and it was Powerful Mojo ... I'd take in a Hippy Headband cut before I took in any OGK cut ...

I'm sorry if you were mistaken lol this thread hasn't bothered me at all. Infact, I'm very interested in the cut actually, Im assured from a few buddies of mine out in San Fran that the cut produces phenomenal stash, that in its own right is just as potent as Headband/Diesel #1. My only qualm when I learned of its circulation was that its not the same pot as the Headband cuts I had heard of (and haven't seen in quite some time actually, hope all is well guys) going around a few years ago, and I just think the recycling of strain names makes keeping track of the family tree that much harder, if your into that sort of thing. Thats all. I apoligize if anyone took it as a rant.

is this Headband? It came from a friend who got it up north from bagseed of 707.

i was smoking some headband from the clinic two days ago... probably one of the most amazing smokes to this day. i miraculously found two seeds in one of the nugs i got off it. one is looking fairly dried out but the other is perfectly healthy.. it was buried closer to the stem. so im guessing the grower didnt catch a hermie or something.. stoked! hopefully its a female.

IM THE OWNER OF HC REMEDIES SHERMAN OAKS.....I WANT to make the record straight..we opened on aug. 06 .....we where the first club to bring the headband down to so cal for medical use.......before then it was going to orange county brought down from a family member of the grower.... .we use to vend out to other clubs before we opend hcr...we got the HeadBand in arcata california.... slapped the name 707 in front of it to trade mark it...hcr became home of the "707 Headbnad"...trust me we where the only ones that had it....then we leaked it to a club in north hollywood (PAP)....the genitics is og kush x sour diesel backcrossed to the sour diesel...other clubs claim to have it but they didnt they used to say that to bring people into there clubs...then vendors would call there stuff headband to make a quick sale to clubs...then some one in humbolt sold sour diesel clones in arcata and was telling them its headband....thats why when u see headband its sour diesel....i seen tons of proclaim headband in humboldt and it always sour diesel....and for headband clones i doubt people have it its still kept lock behind a door from the growers....i have the clone and passed to a guy in venice and a grower in the sfv...

The best part of this thread is Crush's Nug Reports, even though they are blatantly incorrect and have been pointed out a few times.
