A lot of folks prefer seedlings (me included) they get established and seem to grow faster and there is less chance of them going into flowering mode as soon as they go out however i always put my indoor moms (more for breeding than cloning) out in the spring and they perform well but i would wait a couple or three weeks till the days are a little longer. They will grow up into nice bushy plants and also provide a great source of cutting material if you want to increase your grow size later. My vote would be go for it.

Ill give it a shot!

Bringing this one back for the new year..

Just curious to see what everyones plans are for the upcoming grow season. What strains are you growing, and in which latitude? Are you starting from seed indoors, outdoors, from clones? Soil mixture, amendments, etc..?

I have a couple packs of seeds left over from the Toronto420 seed bank:
5x Shiskaberry x Buddha
13x Fat Skunk
I'll be growing these on 43N. My usual soil mixture is comprised of triple mix soil (cow manure, peat moss, topsoil), vermiculite, and perlite with some native soil in the mix as well. This year I'll add polymer crystals for added retention. Anything I'm missing?
I'm also looking to add 2 more strains into the mix. What are your suggestions? Looking for big yields and potency with a mid-October finishing time at the latest.

Looking forward to hearing from all you fellow Ontario growers..

Well its pretty much GO time for Southern Ontario.
Went out last weekend and prepared the spots. I have my order in for some Udg beans; C99 x GG, Boreal Freezeland, Diesel Ryder. In a week or two all the holes should be filled.
..But I'm worried about one plot. It's amongst a forest of pine trees. Has anyone had experience growing in them and have some tips? I assume the soil would be highly acidic. I'm using manure, coir, perlite, vermiculite, native soil, and 2 cups of lime. Would that be a suitable mix?

Wow...common ontario growers lets get this thread going. This is weak!!!! Just checked on mine yesterday and they are HUGE. Pics are on Don Dump's camera so im waiting for him to upload the newest pics, but i'm gunna quote our old pics. These are all wally C99, got 5/5 germ, 5 female. Also got some dutch treat x hash plant, early island indica x timewarp, and some khola and madala #1 babies. We also have some M#1, oasis and C99 clones at another location if they aren't dead from the bear attacks yet, but thats another story. These are almost 3 weeks old.

everyone post your WD c99 questions and pics here. since there no other thread specifically for it

I'll start

here are my c99s outdoor at 45 N. we got the c99 freebie from the bay.
5 /5 germ, 5 females. very disappointed in the ratio:nanana:. no seeds for me

Blue mystic from nirvana is excellent if you want a short and squat indica. I've grown it indoors and its a quick finisher. Grows best as a single spear. About 7.5/10 in potency and it tastes like peaches and cream with an earthy/spicy finish. Its pretty easy to clone and nirvana seeds tend to be affordable.

I hope this isn't a dead thread for a reason.

I mean middle of March I thought this place would be a mishmash of Ontario growers discussing everything from what new strains their gonna put out to what Latitude they were growing on. If its truly dead I'll leave it that way...but this is my attempt to breath fire into this beast again.

My plan is as follow:

Finish seed run. (bout a month to go)

As soon as the snows gone I'm off to prep my 5 plots. Why 5 plots you may ask? Staggered harvest is the answer my friends.

So I crack 20 AF beans on week 1, another 20 on week two, so on so forth. Cull the males as soon as they show. Then after a month growing in my growbox I move them to a plot to finish the next 5 weeks. The next batch of Af's go to plot 2 the next week....and so on n' so forth.
.....
oh it gets better...much better...

So I'm going to stick 2 Fast Pine clones as well as 1 Plan B clone in at each site as well. So when I return in five weeks for my mini harvest I can check on the big girls and tend to them If need be.

...so what are you doing this season? :tiphat:
