I'm really sorry to hear about this. My best wishes go out to Eddy and anyone/everyone else involved. I do however think it is mighty foolish to expect change in laws just because Obama is the president. He is just a front so American's can FEEL like things are changing and remain comfortable while whatever is going on continues to go on.

Look on the bright side folks...at least they are letting him remain a free man while all of these court proceedings are going on. I've known people who've been arrested for much much less, were taken into custody IMMEDIATELY, and had to sit in a jail cell throughout the whole process of going to the various court dates (which took over a year), THEN were convicted and sentenced. So from the moment they were arrested their freedom was gone. Innocent until proven guilty my ass.

Eddy still has time to appeal, and win. As of now he is still free, let us be thankful for that. Our country is becoming more and more MJ friendly as time goes by...so with every appeal comes some fresh faces with a more current perspective.

The irony today is thick. The US Supreme Court just refused to hear San Diego's case that Federal Law trumps State Law when it comes to medical marijuana. So in essence the court thinks California's MMJ law is just fine, which might've affected Eddy's case if it came sooner.

Perhaps on appeal recent changes to the law will make a difference...

Well if you look at the rejection of the San Deigo case to attempt to overturn 215 and sb420 combined with statements made in the Raich decision that if it was a criminal case things would be different, well I have a feeling the US Supreme court will be letting Eddy remain free.

If we do our fellow human beings justice, 100 years from now Eddy Lepp will be remembered as a fighter for human rights and justice. Barack Obama will be remembered as a barbarian that locked people like Eddy in cages because he didn't like what Eddy was doing. Vacate his sentence tomorrow Barack Obama, say one word in support human rights, or rot in history as just another scumbag with a content of character barely better than Bush.
