Im still not saying who has what in stock...or when what was where as thats really messy...but as Londin is sayin his or what he saw showed Sat phenos...The stock my bro bought from Emory-BCSC in late 90's was labeled NL#5 Reefermans (pure)....It said 100% Indica which is why my bro bought hem at some mad price like $240/10pk..He grew out the whole pack and they all displayed nothing but a Kush of Afghan look with none of them shooting over 2-3'ft max under a 400hps...I took a cut of the Stinkiest/short-Fatest plant...they guy didnt keep anything and I still keep the cut....its good...better then avr when grown right IMO....

Im gana start the older NL stock Ive got here soon....and poss DrA's ver also..
Were running a Joey'sWeed NL hybrid now with Chem4 x NL(JW) and its very NL and not the same NL I have and looking to go a good 10-12wks...Im with the Thai ver on this cause already it smells very Lemony which is a trait in some old Thai...I was hoping JWeed NL was a bit more like the older Indica ver....as far as type of NL I could care less long as it whoops arse... I'd say the phenos in the older stock have more frequent Indica or the short n Slow ladies..This one wasn;t slow or fast but it sure looks well mixed even tho theres the Chem4 in her...It just looks nothing like a Chem ya know...I'll show later as shes getting fatter at 3-4wks in bloom...

heres a pic..the Chem4xNL(JW) is on the L....on the R is a BananaOG/ChemD x BanaOG/Bubba both same age and the Chem4xNL is much slower to develop...

been doing a little more research on cracking old seeds. here is an interesting post i found

For old beans, I have had good luck using a "nitrate soak" method. I first boil & then cool some water, to sterilize it. Add 1 teaspoon of a high-nitrate fertilizer (such as seaweed emulsion) per gallon of water; if you have any doubts about the sterility of the fertilizer (such as manure tea) boil it along with the water.

Then plant the beans in a sterile soil-less medium, either seed starter or plug mix. I usually use peat strips for this purpose. Place the planted pots/strips in a leak-proof plastic flat, and add enough of the solution to soak them completely. Let soak overnight, then carefully pour off any excess solution. Place the flat on a heat mat, or where the temperature will be close to 80 F. degrees. Do not cover, since the dead seeds will rot, and if enclosed, mold/mildew can spread to other pots. If any further watering is required, use plain water.

Nitrogen stimulates bean germination, so this method can be highly effective. I had some half-dead bean seed, which initially (without the nitrogen) had zero germination out of 50 seeds. When attempted again with the same seed, one year later & using the nitrate solution, the germination was better than 60%.

NB - lol - when the guy says 'beans' he's not talking cannabis jive, he really means beans as in legumes - but i think this might work for our seeds too. im going to try with seaweed extract because that has growth hormones in too which is supposed to help.

For soaking seeds and bulbs, soak overnight in solution of 1 capful to 1 gallon of water. After planting, water with solution of 1 capful to 1 gallon of water

if you want to be really hardcore about it then google the use of gibberellic acid which is used to speed up germination of seeds too.

I grew Neville's NL5x2 back in the 80's,and it was awesome pot-even if it was not up to today's "standards",potency-wise vs.,say,a really good OG Kush or Chemdog.

For some reason i always thought rezdog was like 16 or 17 years old , maybe 23 or 24 years old since i first saw your posts back in the day.

Had no idea you where old enough to be growing in the 80's.

Learn something new everyday.

I smoked Northern Lights a few weeks ago that was every bit as good as any 'elite' variety you want to mention. I wasnt particularly surprised though considering Northern Lights is among the most influential plants in modern breeding times.

I grow NL for MEDs...not social good time herbs...Its not for Fun...its for my friends with severe pain..an myself for a case of extreme insomnia/workaholic traits...
Im 41 and grew up on NL and a few others...I didnt grow shit myself till late 80's early 90's?..and NL was old by then along with Afghans, certain kushes and Skunks had already been around for yrs..but I helped others do grows since I was 15-16 or so..Just didnt care back then as it was more fun to smoke it and get laid than think it was all some big herb get rich scheme....heh....man all the sex back then before AIDs.....good times....

I grew out some NL#5 back in 2001 (outdoors) and ended up trading it for some mex brickweed (sativa). It was the most flat, boring high I've ever experienced. Respect to Indica lovers, but I don't know how you can smoke that stuff...much less grow it...yuck!

"melty" is a good way to describe the effect NL#5 has here...but its gata be well matured to feel its full power and we run ours to 9-10wks..7-8wks dont cut it...

Do you have a pic of the JWeed NL used?...that would be a great addition to this thread for these folks...
But your right on time as its just now getting full blast Bloom and the plant is a lil over 2" and a good baseball bat cola size..well structured but solid buds from head to toe...No gaps or Shooting...this isnt a great pic...I'll get a better one for ya...

The Northern Lights a mate used to score in London in the early 90's had a nice trippy effect, in fact if you took some cid and then smoked a bong of this NL you would come up on the cid much quicker than normal.

Nope Foe Chem#4 grows with an entirely different structure than the other chem line, she was more of a classic NL or SK1 structure,single large chunky cola and some equally proportioned side branching,just as you have,and my F1 pic I have posted..
Thus many talk about how she has a big yield.

whoa stimuli....heh...cid is all good but I liked to trip clean really...and used herb to "come down".....but cid is different now and its still to me a synth clean trip n all but before or thru 80's cid n mesc n trip was real good n just a lil watered down compared to now...good blotter or microdot man...mmhmmm...Ive got 2 hits of early 80's blotter frozen...thinks its still viable?...heheh...but I could trip like any but Herb is more a social thing or drug where man Cid aint that social for me...lol...shit trippin with friends was hard enough....plus like the mesc we had back then would spin you out for 21hrs...with a 16hr come down...fukin biker choco mesc...ooof... I'd like to find something that was a cid strong Herb mind wise but at the same time do not want to slam my head with drugs that strong as often as I use herbs...
To/For me Herb is the Perfect Drug.....

But its our first grow bro so it could be us to...We hit her very heavy with nutes as both my fukin meters died last wk or 2 and durring that time tghings were off..She was super deep green as you see in pre-bloom and thru mid bloom...But shes packin it on in every direction and its enviro here is solid 1800wts my way + c02 n all......man shes out growing everything...heh...size wize tho...not in form as shes got a mixed pace to me....Im stoked either way tho and much thnx for them broha...

here is my atomic NL at 4 weeks - sorry for the rubbish photo

its been pulled about a bit to train it onto the screen and i flipped it to flowering at the same time as some sat. dominants so i knew it wouldnt quite fill the modular scrog screen but its not done too bad.
