Why Did Nirvana California Orange Change?

OK, can ya'll show me a picture of a leaf with double serrated leaves? I want to make sure I know what ya'll are talking about! Thanks.

Could be many things from different phenos to accidental cross pollination, but above all of them it just may not be the strain stated...

Hi,

Actually, as this thread evolved, the newer Nirvana California Orange turned out to be like the story of the Ugly Duckling, which later turned into a beautiful swan. he..he..

I have tried both versions. I enjoy both. One is sativa, one is indica and they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum as far as that goes, but they both have an excellent orange taste and smell. I cannot say that one is better than the other. That is up to the individuals taste.

I got a bag of Orange Kush back in the day. I saw a lot of shit with that name attached. This particular bag had buds that looked orange frosted and the herb tasted like oranges and cream candy. The herb was good but not exceptional though. So my question is this, out of all the orange strains from various breeders, what strain currently in circulation has the best in both areas? I mean exotic tasting herb is nice, but I am a beauty in function sort of guy.

well let me tell you about the California orange from nirvana it was made from the real clone
i guess some one with the clone ARIC77 and crossed it to a skunk#1 and the plants i got from this pack is a skunkmans paradise.if you love old school skunk then this is some real treasures to be found.

TGA genetics Agent Orange (got some Jacks CLeaner and a real orange skunk in it linneage)

If this plant is grown right and finished correctly, it will yeild heavy with unmistakeably orange/tangerine flavor (not just generic citris)

The above id the JTR pheno of AO

Really nice looking and mouth watering. Did you do hydro or soil. I am definately going to have to try some of that. Super.

Keep it growing.

The Nirvana Cal. Orange tasted great too. Through a vaporizer is was like an orange taste coating your tongue. Girls went wild for it.

Got some Bubblicious x Cali-O up on seedbay now for the 420 Fundraiser Auction.

Check 'em out.

Both strains make some very frosty and flavorful buds.

Hansel, My Cali Orange is freaking me out! This is the first time I've budded it out!

She's on day 21 after a 5 month veg! I checked her little buds, and she has resin and trichs everywhere! These trichs look mature to me, but no way the buds are ready this soon. Do these trichs just keep developing and getting bigger and bigger???? This is some insane frosting for day 21..... never seen this before... :D

Sorry HammerHead, that's the best I can do with this camera. These trichs are mushroom shaped, visible with the naked eye. All on the leaves are white frosting and the calyxes are totally white.

Buds are only about the size of a big stick pretzel at this point, not much weight, day 21.

It's odd though, the trichs look ripe to me, they are cloudy and white. Wonder what's gonna happen next? Will these trichs get overripe and more form later? Just curious. New strain for me. I've never such such frosting this early in the game or ever.!

Opinions please! Thanks.

Hi LG. The reason the trichs look like that is that they are still forming and since they are made of a "waxy" material they look opaque/cloudy. Kind of like a balloon that's not inflated is more difficult to see through than one that is. The trichs should start to clear up in a few weeks as they swell; just a thought.:2cents:

I purchased a pack of nirvana Cali-O back in 2006. I popped half the pack and got one stout female. She was definitely a sativa pheno and took all of twelve weeks to finish. She had a very nice covering of resin but had no orange smell or taste, she was more on the hashy side. She wasn't what I was looking for in a Cali-O, but she did make some nice bubble.:joint:

Let 'er go for another 35 days or so, and you will be amazed by the crystal coverage. The flowers will swell-up and the little pistils will turn reddish brown.

Does it have an orange smell if you rub a small stem?

Very nice looking bush by the way. It looks like it has a lot of sativa characteristics.

Thanks Chomp! Lots of little Cali O clones in the bloom room too. The clones do great with only about 10 days veg. Clones super EZ, and cold tolerant. I had power outage in January for 10 days and nights, no heat, no lights...Cali O kept on going despite temps of 35 degrees indoors for 10 days!

Guys I just did my morning rounds. Sniffed the Cali O buds, and WOW! Day 23 and it smells better than it did 2 days ago by FAR! Super orangy deliciousness...lol

Now I'm wondering about those other 7 beans I have in the fridge.....this female was a runty thing from the start, had to give her lots of TLC. wonder if there's a super freak in the fridge?

When's June gonna get here? I can't wait!
