That last shot looks like a ton of clear trichs, you suuuuuure she's ready? :) Of course, harvesting a bit early does tend to make for a happier re-veg.

Awesome shots there Thunder. I'm jealous! :woohoo:

Looking at the pics, and the numbers before each... The last pic posted, was from day 49, plant was chopped at day 54, first pics shown.

Red I've been having all kinds of issues and would like your advice, I'm going to take pics and post them in my Fluoro Frenzy thread and hope you post some help for me cuz this is driving me nuts!!! It's all of a sudden too! I don't know what it is....

I see P deficiency on most of your plants. Most of the fans are dead yellow or have the zig-zag pattern.

So I have some stuff to share and it's not to so great.... I've been having issues since I switched over to the Black Gold Waterhold Coco Blend so I'm going back to my Kellogg Patio Plus soil cuz I had no problems with it..

I'll start with the goods which is my Thunder Goo bonsai I have going in week 5

I love that strain, I kinda want to stop fucking with my SOG for a while and grow out 8 bushes like this one but I want my perpetual cycle so I'll have to build another cab to play with those in...

Ok so here's the bad shit, Red this is what I wanted your help with or anybody that wants to chime in as well...

These next pics are all Thunder Goo's in a 50/50 mix of Ocean Forest and Coco Blend, they were being fed 1tsp Tiger Bloom 2tsp Big Bloom per gallon and I thought I burned em??? Please help

The first 3 rows on the right have been getting 1tsp Fish Emulsion 1tsp Tiger Bloom 4 drops Superthrive per gallon and seem to look like they are off to a good start.. I think the coco blend is causing nute lock out? I dunno I'm going back to what I know worked and will slowly tweak it from there

Ouch, almost all of 'em show N def cause they are pale green. The damaged leaves are P and K def's. Some of the ones with spots is probably Ca or K. You've got full lockout on all the major nutes. I'd say the Coco is a contributing cause. I believe it pulls the pH down and you need to have the pH adjusted really low like Hydro and within a tight range as well.

The other thing is the small pot thing you've been doing. That works well for hydro with chem nutes cause they are easy for the plant to uptake so you can get away with a small rootball. You're doing a full organic grow and the plant needs more rootspace to take up the nutes more slowly.

I don't know really what to say to do. Flush and use a general purpose nute like Peter's 20-20-20 for the rest of the grow? You've been using Shultz and molasses, flush and try that.

yea I'm going to run my next few rows in Ocean Forest only and follow the Fox Farm nute chart and see how that goes I'm pretty sure it's the coco blend cuz I had great results when I switched over to Tiger Bloom in Kellogg Patio Plus, what you are looking at is after I flushed they have been getting just water for the last 4 waterings and I had the same problem go on with my moms and I put them in that damn coco blend too! thats it, it has to be the culprit now that I think about it... Thanks

I took another read through your thread and saw that your have FloraNova bloom. That's nice stuff that can be used as a standalone nute like what I did with AN Sensi on my last grow.

I think you can make a pH adjusted solution for what the Coco mix using FN and some pH down and run that for the rest of the grow. I don't think you can repot this late in the game.

I'll second that Red.

Thunder, you have the tool in your shed but you'll get the best results with it if you can find a neutral medium to use it with. This way the only nutes you have to figure are the ones you add when you water.

The FloraNova Bloom is a complete nute that will grow you what you're looking for and will supply everything the plant needs. The soil is just to hold the roots and the nuted moisture. :)

I highly recommend doing a full grow with a couple at just 8ml/gal, pH'd and then diluted to 1:2. Use every watering. At the very least it will give you a baseline on exactly what the FNB can do for you in your cab. :)

I can't recommend it enough in hydro and the pH buffers are even better than the ones in the 3-part mix. More forgiving than is optimum for the plant, in some cases. (running on too weak of a solution)

I have to say though, you're doing a fantastic job of maximizing the fluoro potential. :) Keep up the good work!

coco is very sensitive to PH as well i was having problems with my girls at 5.5 ph with calcium and maybe magnesium. I brought my ph to 5.8-6 and they have loved it ever since. The mix might be a tricky thing but maybe try to bring your ph to 6.0 for the feedings, that will help avoid any lockouts in your coco. Did they keep burning for the past few days? are you still unsure if its a burn or lockout? looks like lockout to me, im thinking its ph and maybe too much salt in the medium.

Ok so I went to Home De Pot today and picked up a bag of Kellogg Patio Plus and a bag of Kellogg Garden Soil for mulch n also got some perlite to make a perlite cloner. I grabbed a bag of Black Gold brand Worm Castings it was a 4lb bag for $4 so not too bad IMO I'm sure the wally world shit is cheaper. The other new stuff I got today was Dip n Grow cuz my RootTech gel went up $5 and DNG was only $8 ! So my problems should be fixed real soon and I'm not fucking with coco until I have a ph adjustment kit with up and down and the tester I saw today..

The reason I was having great results I think is due to the Kellogg Patio Plus cuz it's a great mix IMO the ingredients are : Composted forest products, canadian peat moss, composted chicken manure, rice hulls, horticultural sand, perlite, bat guano, kelp meal & worm castings ... Not to mention when you open the bag it looks like Ocean Forest with less worm castings but for $4.97 for 1.5 cubic ft I can make a all organic mix for a lot less that will be just a good as more expensive soils. But then again I really like the 50/50 mix of Patio Plus and Ocean Forest and I saw 16qt OF bags for $7 so I could get a 25/75 mix for $12 and it would give me half a bag more for a few bucks less than OF .... Anyways I'm done rambling about all that just watch over the next few weeks and months I'll be back in full swing....

I'm gonna stick this chart here so you can see what I'm talking about. Basically there are two sweet spots to grow in, high around 6.5 for soil and low around 5.8 for hydro.

I think you have one other option. Repot into your Kellog soil and add some dolomite lime. I wouldn't cut the rootball back but shake out as much as the old soil that falls freely from the roots. Top dress with a little bit of dlime as well.

I'd water with FN with the pH adjusted to 6.5-6.8. I wouldn't add any organic stuff cause it all runs at a low pH.

The one thing you keep missing Red is I don't have a PH kit so I can't adjust my PH like that or else I'd grow in coco...

Hey Thunder,
Read somewhere that a strain from Cali was very high in CBD, which is good for medicinal use. It is thought to be Purple Erkel Didnt you grow that? What do you think about it?

More light & I've gone totally ORGANIC!!

More light & I've gone totally ORGANIC!!

Ok so I added another 42w 2700K CFL but I did like DrBud did and have in mounted lower on the right side of my cab for the rows that are in weeks 1-3 to be closer to the light...

Also today I went and picked up some goodies, I got a 4lb bag of Happy Frog All Purpose 5-5-5 dry fertilizer and some Happy Frog Bat Guano 0-4-0 and I started brewing my compost tea 30min ago so tomorrow I will start feeding my girls a fully organic brew alive with microbial life :woohoo:

for those wondering what my new organic tea's consist of here ya go

veg - 1 cup Wormcastings, 1tsp All Purpose 5-5-5 , 1tsp Fish Emulsion 5-1-1, 1tsp Full Flavor or Black Strap Moleasses, 1 gallon non chlorinated water

flower - 1 cup Wormcastings, 1tsp All Purpose 5-5-5, 1tsp Bat Guano 0-4-0,
1tsp moleasses, 1/2 seaweed extract or dry seaweed(I'm using ground up sushi wraps) 1 gallon non chlorinated water

You brew the tea with a fish tank pump and air stone for 24hrs and then mix it 50/50 with non chlorinated water and you are good to go!:joint:

Yes yes today was the day!!! I had my tea bubbled up and alive with tons of microbeasties and I said fuck it hit all my plants with it hoping to fix my problem and give em some love... I'm so excited to go back to my soil mix instead of this coco blend shit that's fucked me all up! I don't know why but I have plants flowered at 3.5" finishing at 6-7" after being fully rooted with a nice fat root system and that height used to give me girls that were 15-17" tall
and the only things I changed were my cloning style and my medium but I'm pretty positive it's the medium that caused it and I stopped using Superthrive so maybe that had something to do with it.. What do you guys think? We'll know for sure in a few weeks once I have some girls flowering in my old soil mix

It's the superthrive. Be glad you're not using it anymore.

It's chock full of growth hormones and chemicals that act like growth hormones found in plants. Now that you're not feeding them steroids they're going to be normal plants.

I have no idea what affect it has on plants as far as smoke goes but considering what I've learned about using synthesized 'hormone like' substances, I'll not be using it anymore. Heck, I've even thrown out my Vitamin B1 rooting hormone as it's a synthetic.

Until someone can do all the testing to prove otherwise, I'm going to treat it like hormone pumped beef and not consume it.

Twas the CoCo that pulled your pH down. I read something about Superthrive that it's for vegging only not flowering.

Well this morning when lights came on I took a peek in my cabs and to my suprize I could see that the "Compost Tea" already started fixing my girls!!! A few of my gals with were looking really light green and had yellow peeking through are nice and green looking all happy!! I'm stoked about growing this way I have a gut feeling my harvests are going to get better pretty soon. As for Superthrive I'm still going to use it cuz it makes a difference in plant size and yield without affecting the taste and if it was so bad I don't think Soma would recommend it being how hardcore organic he is...

Hey TD...

Long time no speak. Been laying low for awhile just reading and absorbing more and more info as I go along. Glad I looked this thread up too. I was very close to picking up some coco blend that you were using. Glad I didn't. I binned my pH meter awhile ago, and don't care to pull that damn thing out again. I know people will give me shit over that, but don't really care. To each their own, ya know?

So I've run 2 runs using the SOG CFL methods. Got great results, but I had to quit. Laws in my state make me paranoid about having more than 5 plants at a time, so I decided to drop back to a misdemeanor under my CMH. (supplimented with CFLs though, of course). Although I did learn a lot using this method, and it's helped me tremendously in my new runs.

So here's a question for you. I'm using FFOF now, but the cost on it is about to go up, and my income is about to go down. So I've been looking closer at the kellog patio mix you are using. What do you add to the mix, or is it ok right out of the bag? Still planning on running the FF nutes, but I need to cut costs somewhere. Soil seems to be the obvious choice.

What would you suggest?
