Let's see, I guess I've been growing for 3 years now. Bag seed has been my stock and trade. Here's a pic of my last grow, about 3 ounces of some pretty good weed.


Now I'm trying some of the good stuff. If I understand right, the mother of these two females was an OG Kush abusive cut crossed with a SourD IBL male.

I grow in a NGB cab with 78 watts CFL in veg and 150w HPS in Flower. I use GH Flora nutes in soil. Exhaust is 95CFMs and I recently made a DIY scrubber. The scrubber is small and may cause heat problems this summer. This grow should finish between the first and middle of June so temps should be ok. These two plants had a smell when they were 3 inches tall. They're already starting to smell like funk with nothing more than a couple of calyx showing.

I tried Lucas in veg for the first time. These plants wouldn't grow and suffered difficiencies. After three weeks I went back to the GH chart. The extra nitrogen helped, they are now growing closer to what I'd expect, (about a half inch per day after the first week of 12/12.) They're about 8 and 8.5 inches tall and I hope to get some stretch in the coming days. I've only got about two feet of headroom but the bulb doesn't penetrate much more than a foot or so. I want an idea of the plant size so I won't LST or Scrog this grow. After I see what these two do I plan to reveg one, take cuttings and fill up a SOG.

These two are looking pretty healthy since I switched nutes. The tops are pale but seem to green up after a day or so. Also apparent is the yellowing at the bottom node. This happened in veg. I plan to keep using the GH Grow throughout stretch so they don't stall. I may get a nitrogen supplement that doesn't add so much K. Why does GH put so much fuggin K in their Flora Grow? It's almost useless.

Thanks Aerohead. The plant in the foreground (1st pic) is a reveg but the previous grow below was from seed. The box was almost full and ~3 oz. dry harvest.

I'm curious myself. Hang around for the next two or three weeks and we'll at least know about these. I've seen pics of 6" SDIBL growing 2 to 3 feet in flower. I guess the OG Kush will corral this to some degree. I don't think they'll stretch throughout flower like the last sativas I grew.

Hey DB, looking good so far.

I had about 6-7 og/sd females this past grow and there was 2 distinct phenos, not so much by the looks of the buds, but by the height. Stretch was average at best, not as lanky as the abusive og cut. After growing these out I'm almost certain that these seeds have some deep chunk in them. The mom's these seeds came from looked much different, more sour dieselish, a bit lanky and tall. I'll show ya a pic



I wish I had a camera to show you pics of what my sd/og (dc?) plants look like. They are much more indica looking, have the frosted over leaves associated with DC, but still have that funky diesel/death odor that the og and sour d have.

I'm still waiting to sample some of it, but i'll let you know how the potency is in a couple weeks.

I think I just fixed my scrubber and not a day too soon. This DIY mesh pencil cup scrubber only has about 3/8" carbon between the cups. It is undersized for my fan so I had to drill holes in the cup bottoms for increased air flow. The mod didn't seem to help temps or so I thought.



I decided to change the carbon and realized I'd previously packed almost an inch in the bottom. This made the mod useless. I repacked the scrubber making sure it was 3/8" thick throughout. It now works w/o heating things up but it only has 3 ounces of carbon.

Up to now I've only had medium stink plants. I hope this little fugger can handle it. A pro scrubber will require an inline fan in my setup and I don't want to bust boot right now.

hey db, that pic is from the first batch of sdxog (jlp) x ogxsd that i made. i'm thinking that the last batch of those I grew were knocked up with deep chunk. so what your growing is probably [(sdxog)x(ogxsd)] X Deep Chunk. reminds me of Algebra I back in high school. Bust out the foil method to further break down what your growin...lol

just so you know. all of the og/sd whatever the hell it is females that i grew had a gnarly stinky rotten meat/fuelish stank on them. Even with my 6" fan and filter combo I still catch whiffs coming from the attic. i tried to get a pic with my crappy webcam. this is one of the "tall" phenos. Started at ~12-14 inches. finished under 3 ft. flowering earlier probably would of eliminated some of the spacing between nodes. the other ones are about 4-5 inches shorter, with no gaps in between nodes from top to bottom. the smaller ones tend to be a little more leafy than the tall ones. the leaves are what makes me think it has a little DC in it. I grew other DC crosses along side these and they looked similar.

I love hash, so the thoughts of more sugar shake rings my bell! Thank you for the clarification killa. I don't know how much carbon you have in the attic but I bet it's measured in pounds lol. Thanks for telling me about the smell. I guess I'll have no choice but to buy an inline fan and make a legit filter.

I just fed the [(sdxog)x(ogxsd)] X Deep Chunk and they're looking great. They stretched almost an inch last night, I hope it keeps up for a few more days at least.

i've been working on the og/sd for a while, over several grows, and each year that goes by the less i remember...which leaves me confused sometimes when trying to tell the peeps i hook up what they are growing. i went away for a few months as the last batch of seeds was finishing up, so I was only present when I dusted the plants with pollen. All the collecting, labeling, and such was left to my roomate. He gave it his best shot keeping things organized but I'm sure some got mislabeled or mixed up. The plants your growing or that I posted could just as easily be a different cross. I know I made some catpissxdeep chunk and great white sharkx deep chunk before i left but when I got back there weren't any seeds labeled cpxdc or gwsxdc. It's all very confusing trying to remember all the strains I had in the box when I released the pollen. The more I try to think about it the more confused I get.

Whatever those plants consist of, whatever they happen to be...you can be certain it'll be dank. Any of the other sd ibl crosses I sent you should be legit though...it was only the last batch of seeds I made that are questionable.

what size fan did you end up getting for your flower room and cooltube? are they exhausted with the same fan or do you have a separate fan for the cooltube and to exhaust the cab?

richirich 99, one exhaust fan, 95cfm Hydro Farm blower w/ speed cont. on low. The blower is in the utility room and draws air from both chambers. One pc fan in veg and one in flower. Each pc fan blows between the bulb(s) and the canopy.

I've got some pretty good stretch going on in the second week.


They're 15-1/4" and 14" tall.


Not much variation here, other than more secondary growth at the bottom of the shorter plant. I'll probably take a clone (maybe two) tomorrow for a mother and insurance. Whether these fill out very much will determine how many clones I throw in the next batch.

Hey MaxOr. I'm a little surprised with the stretch. These plants yellowed early in veg so I added a little more N. I'll probably have to nix the N as it will only contribute to more stretch. I have no problems tying them over or super cropping the colas if necessary. The last plants from seed were as tall as these early on and didn't mind bondage one bit.

thanks for the reply on the exhaust fan Disco! im looking into trying to use one of the s&p inline fans. just hope that they will fit in the utility area when build the cab.
