im thinking about starting up a 4400watt growroom plus a few fans in a 1 or 2 bedroom house depending on the rent the house is either going to be a one or two bedroom.....i guess what i want to no is, is this a smart move to make in such a small home? i've read that the average electric consumption used per room is 1000 and i will be way over that amount....also the house will be used for growing only i will not b living their so that should help with saving a little more electricity....so all you big growers out there please give me your input i really want to do this!

anythings possible, 4400 would throw red flags but you are in norcal so im sure it doesnt matter, just be prepared for that 1000 dollar energy bill every month.

Nothing arouses suspicion more then an empty house and a guy showing up now and then carry bags and stuff in and out etc. be careful

tell the electric company u have a big seawater aquarium or. something that need a lot of energy.......

better is to rent a small house or a bungalow were u only run the grow.......if u not spend other eletricy there it should be okay......

what if you had a hot tub? thats a ton of power. plus a pool. there are tons of explanations for that much power.....a garage with a ceramics kiln is upwards of 5000w....

It can be done but not for an extended period of time. Maby not in Cali.. I've seen people on here with 9k just in lights, and then the have fans ect. I wouldn't run it for more then a year. Theres alot of different things that use extreme amounts of energy. I think you should look into a bigger house. Also don't rent it.... That's a dumb move. Get somebody with a clean background and a sound W2 to put something in their name. Make sure not to pay it off because police usually won't seize heavily mortaged properties..

start smaller bro, you can answer all these questions yourself with a bit of experience.

Putting the cart in front of the horse always ends bad!!!!!!!

Power consumption won't be your issue. Deserted house will be,cops neighbors notice this stuff over extended period of time.Grow where you live and be a bit more conservative.

Hey NorCal, look at my early threads. Go into my post history and search for all threads created...and look at the early ones.

When I asked for the similar advice, I was further along in the stage than you were in most aspects...as I was looking for instructions on a detail setup.

I hope you get better help and advice than I did (people were just straight rude and dicks). And they were giving me answers to questions I never asked... but this is one of those deals where if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

What type of house is it? Is it a rental? Are you already familiar with the property and do you know that the landlord/property manager won't be coming to check on it? Are there neighbors near by or a big road? If so you can forget that location if you don't plan on living in it.

How much time can you commit to taking care of the plants? 4000 is a big ass grow, I hope you have plenty of time on your hands. What growing experience do you have? If you dont have any indoor growing experience you don't want to make a financial commitment with this endeaveour that you will not be able to keep.

As far as power consumption.... THE LEAST OF YOUR CONCERNS. Your power company reporting you or some bullcrap like that? The least of your concerns. Concern yourself with if your house is going to have the voltage to supply the electricity in the first place. Concern yourself with smell, etc.

Now, if the power meter reader comes by and your reading is off the charts and the house looks uninhabited (lawn unkempt), yeah that could lead to trouble.

thanks to for the advice.....and to fortragni if u dont have nothing positive to say then shut the f@#k up! I've been growing since 2003 and made up to $7000 each grow n a walk in closet so i have the experience. i have always wanted to grow big but never really got the chance to until now but after my cuzin told me he is going to open up a club n oaksterdam and he will buy from me after he seen the quality i produced thats what made me want to start a big grow asap. i also have a friend that is a electrician so that part is also coverd i just figured people on here got huge ass 9k grows and they r doing fine so y cant i do close to the same. im also only going to do one grow n that house then move out asap into a bigger home.

Your gonna have to look like ur upkeeping the house to sell . Look like a landrord doing yard work every other 3 to 4 days . An empty garage is a must to bring everything in and out inconspicuously .

I would invest in a power gen from Sam'sClub ( Hondas's are quite ) to run most or half the lights . Construct a stealth box to house and supress the noise . Place it up against the garage ventilation hole to run the exhaust . The gen exhaust should also be surpressed with fire retardent materials . Mount a carbo mono detecto and a fire extinguisher for safety .
Try to find a place far away from schools , parks , and recreation areas . Landscape regional aromatic plant around the perimeter of the house . Rent from a company not a lanlord .

Try keeping the grows in the bedrooms in order to " stage " the living areas and have the blinds or curtains open . I can go on but I'm typing on a Playstation controller . Hope this helps .
