FirstTimer76, what site are you asking about? The one that I found that's selling the DR120 for $165 you mean? Do you think the Grow Labs are nicer than the Dark Rooms then? Is that what you're saying? I can't look at them before I buy so I'm counting on you guys to steer me in the right direction. The grow place near me doesn't carry the Dark Rooms or the Grow Lab.

Yea what site is that? I personally havent seen neither one up close to tell you the truth my friend. But I have seen threads using the darkrooms moreso than anything else on this forum. The gowlabs are new & from my research on the net, they are the same except the minor differences that I stated earlier. Which in my thinking doesnt justify paying an extra $50-$60 bucks for. So IMHO go wit what you can afford my friend, I did.

Been using a Secret Jardin DR80 For close to a year now and I am loving it. Have read about the new grow labs and silver edition Grow Huts, but yet to see one up close.

I will tell you now, many of us have had serious toxicity issues with HydroHut Deluxe models which may have been resolved by now, I am unsure - just a heads up.

Otherwise I absolutely LOVE Hydrohuts. These are so freakin great seperating your mothers from flowering all in the same room!

I dont no much bout the habitats, but the new hydrohuts are real nice. They are called growlabs. Have you heard of the darkrooms by secret jardin? Nice as well.

Just gonna clear things up for everyone - the new Growlab tents are not made by Secret Jardin or Hydrohut, they are made by Everest Garden Supply in partnership with Homebox.

I don't hold the confusion against anybody - there were people here and elsewhere spreading misinformation on purpose, trying to make people think the Darkroom tent was going away in favor of the Growlab tents, when really Growlab is just made by an old Jardin distributor who is trying to steal their business.

I've heard good feedback on the smaller Growlab tents, but have also heard of some serious problems with the larger models, specifically it seems the canvas is not bonded to the interior material properly and comes apart with minimal effort. The person who got a bad tent claims that there will be a Growlab 2.0 coming soon, so personally I would hold off on them until they get these issues fixed. I also understand the window they added to the front leaks light on all the models.

In any event, I am a satisfied Secret Jardin customer. I have an older model and a 2.0/2008 model Darkroom tent. Both are great and the newer one fixed the zippers and stuff people complained about on the first ones.

The place that had the DR120's listed for $165 was DCHydro (Maryland Hydroponics) Here. I just called them though and they told me that the Dark Rooms have been discontinued and replaced with the Grow Labs. He said they have the 145 model Grow Lab for $299.

All of the places that I called that didn't have the Dark Rooms anymore made it sound exactly like you said. They all said "we don't carry the Dark Rooms anymore, they've been replaced by the Grow Labs which are the same thing". Only they should have added "for a lot more money".

I wish I could have looked at them myself before buying one. But I'm sure I'll be happy with the DR120. Thank you to all who commented for the help.

Sorry for the misinformation. Thanks mr bojangles for clearing that up my friend. Believe me it wasn't on purpose. I'm more partial to the darkrooms myself, like I said I just ordered me 1 (DR120) Which should be showing up anyday now.

I have another question now about these tents. I got the DR120. But how do you guys make it light proof for flowering? Would it work to put 3'-4' long pieces of that rigid aluminum ducting in those 4 ducts, bent in a 90° shape or something? I kind of need to use all 4 as intakes (I will use that one on the top in the back corner for my exhaust) and need to figure out what to use to block light. I know you can use PVC painted black inside, but I'd rather not use that since it's so heavy. That semi rigid aluminum ducting is light and I could just hang pieces from the openings on the sides of the tent, but I don't know if it will work for blocking the light?

jonezin, is there anyway u can call them to confirm if the darkroom there selling is the newer version with the updated zipper? They have both of the sizes that i want, dr60 and dr80. I emailed them 3 weeks ago already and havent heard anything from them.

the zipper on the first version was poorly put together and a lot of poeple was complaning about how the zipper is easily breakable. The newer version have a logo on the zipper. Does yours have it? Are u sure they ran out? I was just on there site yesterday and it shows they still have the dr60 and dr80.

Hey guys just FYI- recently purchased the growlab model for a 4x4 tray- I think it is the 245l. Anyways, construction seems solid. Nice material and big zippers but there are lights leaks all over the place. Light creeps out the Velcro on the front windows and also the side zippers. There is an overlap flap on the interior of the zippers that is suppsed to prevent light but it doesn't sit close enough to do an adequate job.

Kind of bummed because this thing cost enough ($300+) for me to think there would be zero issues. It is being used for veg in the bloom room so light leaks suck.

Yes, my zippers have a logo on them. And yes I am sure that they don't have any. Why haven't you called them?

I know most of the discussion here is about other brands, but I thought I'd put word in for Homebox. I'm very happy with the model I have (Homebox XS, see link to diary in my sig), and I'll definitely be using their stuff when I finally graduate to having a room instead of a closet .

secret jardin dark rooms are the only ones I get recommended.. there was a big issue with bud box and hydrohut leaking toxins that kill plants or something? Lol
