So, in these tough times we Americans (and other countries too) have been facing. I thought maybe we could have a thread for the good things that have happened to us latley. (As opposed to the FU thread lol ;) Well, Ill start out, I'm living in a state that has been having some of the highest unemployment levels in the country. After losing many hours at my current job (Read: I worked 5 hours last week) I just got a call for a job interview today, and another tomorrow with large corporate establishments that dont look like they'll be going out of business anytime soon, so Im very very excited! I hope everyone here has somthing good going on, and if so feel free to share!

Well, my family and I are healthy, noone in my fam has lost their job, i've got 3 ladies flowering right now and they're looking nice, i've started going to school at nights again and so far like my classes, I gotta say I'm happy!
As for one particular incident that recently happend that I thought was good, I'm in the sales/supply sorta field and deal with a bunch of accounts on a daily basis, theres a lot of competition and I'm the youngest person that i know of so far in my position. Its a frustrating job at times, but the other day one customer told me I do a good job, and that I'm good at what I do, that I was going to be successful in whatever career I end up choosing...
When I have to deal with people who are stressed out, in a hurry, struggling for business, etc., usually they're at the BEST unfriendly, often times rude and upset, so to get a compliment like that really made my day.

Yesterday, while playing golf I had a rare & satisfying experience. I recorded a double eagle on a 497 yard par 5 from the tips. I've been playing golf for over 40 years and have never made an ace (hole-in-one), much less a double eagle.

Over the years I have personally witnessed several people make a hole-in-one, including my father, brother, & youngest son. However, yesterday was the first double eagle I have ever witnessed in person and I was the lucky bastard that hit it!

For an amateur golfer like myself, I have read that the odd's of making a hole-in-one are around 10,000 to 1, and the odd's of a double eagle are around a million to one. I dont know how accurate these figures are, however, on the PGA Tour from 1983-2003 (20 years) there were 631 aces & only 56 double eagles made.

Disregard all the ability, dexterity, and skill, one must possess a great deal of dumb luck to make a double eagle!

Congrats on the new job.

Good on ya for the double eagle. But that is very fleeting. Personally, I hate golf. I have been afflicted with the sport since i was about 8 years old so that means I have played for almost 30 years. I have never recorded anything better than a birdie. You should go gambling today your luck is running good.

I am awake and alive and have a stocked larder of buds. I have a wife that I love and that loves me. That is pretty lucky.

WTG bro on that stroke

One day many decades ago I asked my dad (he was watching golf on TV atm) what a 3 under par was called, he let out a small "whoop" & said "that's a double eagle & nobody ever hits one!" bout 30 seconds later someone hit one in for a double eagle and dad just sat there stewin' & chewin' on his words.......

a few years later as dad shuffling the cards while playing gin rummy with a businesss associate I asked him, "dad have you ever dealt anyone a gin rummy?" "No." came the reply as he dealt Jim a winning rummy hand then and there bout 10 seconds after I asked....... damn did he ever shoot me a dirty look that had 'JINX' written all over it, I got up & left the office immediately.
