hey everyone this is my first grow diary and i want to do this thing right so i don't look like a complete jackass
This is my first run of LUI and so far things look like i'm in for some excitement with these girls i originally was gifted these beans from a friend WAYZER i recieved 5 beans i soaked them in luke warm water for 12H then transferred them into paper towels for another 12H i then transplanted the beaners into dixie cups only 4 outta 5 popped but outta those 4 beans i was blessed with 4 Females then i vegged for roughly 3 months took clones and outta those plants i have 3 phenos 2 taller with wide leaves and tight internodes and the other two are uniform shorter with no side branching hardly at all...... here's the spects...

LUI#1


a little taller than the others but the nodes are very tight smells almost piney
LUI#2

Tall aswell but more lateral branching with more of a rubbery stock (i don't know if that sounds crazy or not. )
And she has a faint sweet/skunky smell...
LUI#3

Now she's shorter with a x-mas tree structure and smells piney/skunk/sweet
LUI#4
(sorry i just got a digi cam literally yesterday from best buy and i'm still getting used to this thing)i coulden't resist those xmas bargans)

she's the shortest one outta all of em ,rather slim stock compaired to lui#1 & LUI#2 but.. she smells the most piney outta all of them but almost a hint of rubbing alchol(but faint) this little one's i can't wait what's gonna happen......
OK so since i got my cam only yesterday the LUI'S i have in 12/12 right now are in their first day of week 3 ...

So far LUI#4 is the quickest pheno outta the 4 i have.............
if you noticed that they look a little light green it's because my temps are super cold right now .. the day time temps lately have been -10 - -35 and at night it gets to -35 so my indoor temps are very up and down lately nightly temps hang around 10-15 and during the day 20-25 the petiols are rather pink also indicating lack of N witch would explain the light green in the leaves right now...i'll try to warm it up some how maybe lower/turn off the intake.. ...peace..

you will learn that there usually is one GREAT keeper pheno based on yield/taste/short flower time...

LUI has some of the BEST bag appeal, and is a good smoke... not TOO powerful of a high, not TOO weak of a high either... just right.. people love it around here

I've read a bit about this strain ortegaXsweet tooth i would be intrested to see the ortega plant selected for the cross used to make LUI.a real deal shot of ortega used to cross to the ST i checked the legends threads but to avail....i've read that it's a strain from nocal(i think) famed for its short stature & rock hard nugs....now forgive me if im talking outta my ass but isnt ortega a varation of hash plant????....if im wrong please someone correct me....

Just to clear the record, the ortega clone came to Switzerland via Ed Rosenthal. The seeds that were sold via the seed bank orignals were hybrids of the clone as posted above.

These are the last seeds produced by the original proprietor of the Seed Bank. As this breeder ceased working with Cannabis Seeds over ten years ago, these seeds are a rarity. An old friend of the breeder released these seeds from a Dutch freezer last year in a time of great financial difficulty. The seeds all germinate into incredibly vigorous F1 hybrids, the result of the true breeding parents used in these seeds, the final edition in one chapter of a master breeder's work.

Once these seeds are sold, they cannot be replaced. Making your own lines of these strains is advisable and desirable, but you will never forget the originals.



Ortega #3 Grow Report

The Ortega #3 was germinated in a rw cube under flouros for 1 week, then went into the bubbler with a 50% GH 3-2-1 solution for vegging. This phenotype showed heavy branching with a radical indica leaf pattern. After 4 weeks in the veg stage under a 1000w Sun Master Nuetral Deleuxe she sexed and went to 12/12.

In the flower stage she was fed a 2-2-2 GH solution @ 50% in the bubbler for the first 3 weeks of the transition period. During the stretch she more than doubled in height and continued to put out heavy side branching. In the beginning of the 4th week of flowering she was fed a 1-2-3 GH solution @ 50% until clearing was started @ 35 days. Due to space restrictions she had to be flowered under the Sun Master until day 40 of flowering, then put under the 1000w HortiluxEye until she finished at 52 days. All phases were kept in the 5.5-5.8 ph range on the solution and flush. The main cola was a phat one to say the least! After trimming the fan leaves the remainder was hung to dry for 4 days, then into the jars for curing. The final yield was 135 grams of some excellent weed!

While growing the aroma was that of a fresh peeled tangerine turning to a pungent indica in the final days of flower. The smoke after curing has an orange citrus flavor after taste. As for the high, starts off where you don't think your high, until you try to get up, kinda trippy. Then it kicks in with the couch lock, very medicinal indica stone that lasts for 4-5 hours. She's a definate keeper in my eyes (and head) regardless of the contraversy of whether it is an actual strain from the Original Seed Bank or not. An Ortega Indica crossed with a Northern Light #1 that couldn't be any sweeter in my books!

...So i took some pics today (nothing better to do) and i noticed that the ladies are starting to produce resin(day5 wk 3 day 25 of 12/12) and LUI#1 sMELLS LIKE Grape Sweet Tarts ( those of you who remember)so here's the Girls ... Day 5 Wk 3 day 25 12/12..........

this girl has a Unusualy thick stem high up in the plant..........


it has ridges like celery would have.........the others....

Ok so i took some pics of the ladies today and their starting to come along nicely........... they all have a kinda grape/wine/sweet/tartness smell to them all ...but phenos#1 and # 4 smell the most intense...... i also stripped all the bottoms yesterday and pinched the shit outta the stems...... here's some pics of the girls
