i put a few of the plants from vegging on 12/12 cycle - to find out the girls and most interesting males - and then reveg. i hope every 2 weeks i got a few new confirmed ones so i can be moving the plants around - sex them all before the HPS - and veg only the females (and the occasional male) to save space and work.

now in the flowering area i got 15 females and about the same amount of un-sexed... its a waste of HPS electricity in some way... i mean its tight and the ones that will get cut eventually are wasting light untill sexed and culled..

the quest for a non selling grower like me is to be cost efficient.. minimum cost and effort workwise if possible.

its a bitch watering the plants furthest away from the HPS. i can move the plants around and get up on the table - its strong enough no doubt.. but its hardly practical. i have made a watering device (!lol!) with a pump and a rod with an atached hose - this will reach into the far corner without me having to break my back.. i wish i could just hook up pumps - but the huge amount of different strains and etc -they have all different needs of watering.. so personal treatment for every pot is the best.. i lift and feel the weight for each pot .. hehe 100 plants.. and its actually work! it takes more time every day to take care of the plants!

i cant believe it! the damn veg space is full of ants!

the rain is qutie strong outside and the ants decided to take over my pots and under my trays instead.. now this is not fun.

ants give me the creeps when they are 1000+

i seriously hope they are not going to do any serious damage!

man i prefeered mites to this! lol

well been fighting the ants with natural remedies..

i read on the web - aparently these tiny brown ants hate chalk powder - you know the one for babies.. so i went to grab one bottle and i started sprinkling it on their trails.. well to my surprise they hate it so they seem to have gone elsewhere for the moment - anyway i used also the vacuum cleaner to eliminate a whole lot.. and then dumping them in water to drown them..

for the moment there is not that many left as far as i can see - but im going to give them time to re-group and call reforces - and later i will give them some more hehe this is WAR lol anyway - the pots seem clean and no plants are dead or too damaged at the moment..

interesting round of planting seeds..

all deepchunk x uzbekistan were males. one left to sex though..

most indicas did not germ well. out of 20 strains 6 didnt even germ.

got much better luck with the sativas.

its a bummer with this many males - never had this bad ratio before - i know its just luck.. but hehe

but it seems i might be lucky here upfront there might be growing a few new select female cuts in here in short if things go well ! lets hope for LOTS OF LUCK hehe

i need to prepare som nice buddage for winter!

hm - i think i will go in later and count the strains and females flowering...

the cascadia mix looks like a cascadia x PTK or cascadia f2 - but id have to see a pic of the whole plant to know better looks ok doesnt it? tell me more when you tried it any more pics of it?

i gotto start a few new seeds.. its thinning out in the veg area

a note;
well one thing i should say is its amazing the old SSH x PTK beans..im now 100% sure all the ones i got growing are females.. i got 3 in the flowering room - and one more that i cut into 3 clones in the vegroom. how ever the vegroom one i put under fluoros on 12/12 for a few days and now its shown sex - an other lady so i hope she is good smoke since i got 3 cuts of it! but all in all cool with 4 new ones to explore all in all of that..

got 2 ESCD x OGK unsexed, one seed i found in the SSH x PTK after the round of bean-making last time, a whole bunch of ssh x lp too..

then comes all the sativas.. that i got to say some of them are not good looking... might be because of inbreeding?? got a mutant of verdelimon.. and an other kind of weird looking one too

thai/mex x banghi is looking a bit sad at the moment - but it sure looks like a plant that would like more root space than it got for the moment.. gonna get more coco soon..

in veg there is still more sativas and maybe a few more ssh x lp - but they are still small and i dont put too much atention to them untill they are big enough to move to the 2nd veg area..

well its time to plant seeds.. gotto look into the bag of goodies - check what looks interesting.. and then decide HOW MANY hehe

haha a few days ago i decided i should plant fewer seeds each round..

well what happened was i grabbed a whole lot of packs.. then i went thru and took away the ones i have allready tred, and also i took away seeds im going to save for a mate..

after a bit more of selection i got down to 7.. then i thought a bit moe about the seeds my sister brought to me from jamaica.. the elite strain in jamaica known as beeniemans choice.. you who are into reggae music (like me) know who that is.. but the connection between that artist and the strain remains a mystery hehe i got my theories knowing the jamaican music business lol well anyway i grabbed a few of those - again ! since i did actually plant some just a while ago - and im sexing 2-3 i got..

also i some seeds are planted in rememberance to their creators who sadly passed away..

well the list is - in no particular order; 45 seeds

6 cantarella - LESOTHO X UZBEKISTAN - LA MANO NEGRA made some famous crosses - this one of them

6 ANGOLA VERDE X BANGHI - an other LMN creation.. my friend Marijuanaut says its very good smoke

6 ALIBI - this is the selection the ever inspiring mrs.medjool made

3 HERIJUANA - RACO / MRS MEDJOOL

6 Haze x Nepal - CHARLIE GARCIA - heard good things about this one!

6 C pheno X PTK - mine - gotto see how they became C is the letter our keeper pheno of SSH x PTK had in the selections.. PTK is the original TOM HILL Pine Tar Kush gifted by raco. the PTK used in the ssh x PTK was also original - and that cross was made by CLONEMAN

6 sugar shack - a cross made by jim morrison "Black Widow X Apollo 11 F1 momma hit with this same OG Kush F1 "

so once again im gonna get my hands full.. im taking the oportunity since i can. never before did i have the space or the time.. but really its hardwork - since im still working both with my daytime (almost nightime at times) job and the growing.. its buzy!

pulled a few more males today..

one more chunkbeki.. it was a male too lol all males from that cross hehe

lets see what tomorows check shows... if there is more males .. or females got a little bunch left without sexing - a few strains

also next round the big moms are going to flower.. im going to transplant and veg them into 25 liter pots.. and see how it goes.. as usuall when the clones are big enough i will select 4 new moms to keep for a half year or so, they are are allready selected and really i should start pruning the big mums to make them more interesting for flower.. they are going to get a massive cutdown of branches - allthough they allready have gotten pruned a week ago when i made clones.. but its really only interesting in this strain to get the top kolas - since in a big indoor plant the lower nugs take forever to finish off.. atleast in the light conditions i got.

i moved also 2 more sativas to the 12/12 room since i think they are going to reac better to that light cycle.. anyway they got many nodes and are surelly going to grow huge under the HPS.. it was one more Verde limon, and one Thai/mex x banghi..

there is still a whole bunch of sativas left - a few indicas too.. but of most strains sexing many examples dissapear.. this round is not for seed making anyway... im keeping an eye open for a SSH x LP male that is looking good (for polinating our keeper) and also im looking for a particularly intersting looking male of Verde Limon for a mate.. lets see if anything nice turns up!

its been a buzy day.. but i still feel like going down to have an other look.. luckilly the HPS room is not switched off.. and im almost over watering as it is! the vegroom is better left alone too - i watered the ones that needed allready.. damn its adictive to be a farmer

tomorow its time for coco and transplants... i hope to get a big amount of coco - something like 200 liters or more.. i really need a LOT and i cant get bothered to go to the shop every now and then! im first of all going to transplant all plants that are confirmed females and are in small pots.. the after that it will be some that are in veg and look like they want more root space..

at the moment i think im having a blast! peace all!

transplanted all females flowering to big pots, besides 2 that were a bit too wet.. also i transplanted now all of the clones of the ssh x ptk i made the first round here.. soon enough the latest clones will be rooted also..

im stoned on the ssh x ptk.. wooh.. im hammered - can hardly move and i still gotto water all the plants lifes hard lol hehehe

the fact i didnt have a pen to make small notes with what rockwool plug contains what, does not make anything easier.. i mean i can put the all back to continue germing but i will never know what is what..

i dotn know jackshit about breeding - lets see what comes out

i picked up all rockwool plugs... i put em in a tray laying down - since i dont know what side is up or down.. and also i lsot track of wich is what.. so its gonna be a lot of X marked plants.. i kow the strains i used .. hehe but it will hardly help. but im gonna flower em anyway..

but im forced to plant even more of the SSH/PTK x PTK - since if not i wont have any way of knowing wich is that one in the mixed lot..

well.. the male ssh x lp will get moved into the veg area when i remember it - i wont do any crossing untill much later.. i will allways have ssh x ptk ready to flower - i jsut need to get a nice SSH/PTK x PTK also .. well - this male for now will live on..

still the final selection is not over yet.

a good looking male of sshxptk / ptk will later polinate the ssh x ptk also.. and maybe a ssh x lp keeper mom - that should also get hit with the ssh x lp...

well man - its way too early to say anything about keepers yet besides i just have to take note on the fact the new ssh x ptk seedlings jsut entered in flower look great - maybe even more hybrid factor than in the keeper we got.. but later we will see about potency and bud structure etc this far the 3 females are IIa, IIb and IIc

later im going to get into details of the differences etc now its jsut a bitch getting time hehehe
