Damn, I would lay odds that more than half of the people who answered "Not worth it" don't have a volcano.

Best purchase I've ever made. I even paid more than most of you because I bought it at a head shop in a college town (booo markup). I picked it up right after watching my grandmother die from smoking cigs for all of her life. Gives me the false hope that I won't be in that boat.

I used one in Amsterdam and I was shocked by how well it worked, but it looks like they spring leaks and lose vapor if you don't keep the bags in good shape. Still, I got to vape a whole bunch courtesy of the guy at the Hemp Museum at the time.

I think part of the good parts of smoking weed is you get the entire plant not just the trichs. I think marijuana is probably loaded with minerals so when you smoke it you also get those minerals. This contributes to the chilled out grounded effect along with the high. With vaporizing it seems you mainly get that trich airy spinny high, depending on the individual bud of course.

I personally like the full rounded chilled out effect... but the cool thing is with technology, we can get whatever we want from the plant!

We can do the same thing with coffee:

If you dark roast the coffee bean, its less acidic... my experience is a good dark roast espresso is actually calming... it doesn't have that acidic jivey feeling -as much-. Because coffee is actually loaded with magnesium, which is a calming mineral. So when you use the coffee bean in this way, you are moving the ratios more in favor of just the minerals, rather than acidity and caffeine. The dark roast, roasts some of the acidity and caffeine out. Then an espresso technology does it even more, by pressing out the mineral juice and leaving more of the acid and caffeine behind.

So with weed:

If you vape, then save the vape poop... and eat that... you get a very chilled out effect... because you aren't getting the high chemicals anymore, but just the deep minerals that chill ya out.

If you smoke the weed you get both of the effects.

If you vape the weed you get just the trich high.

Mine was only 375, fuck 500. I owned a VB for 2 years before buying my cano, The whip styles were very efficient for the price, but I loveee my cano when I feel like vaping. 9 times outa 10 I will use a tube or maybe a heady piece, I guess I just prefer smoking most the time.

Not being mean, I just think you were blaaaazed when you wrote this  ...

I agree that I get a semi-different head high with the volcano, but I don't think that you get minerals when you inhale the actual smoke.

There is the battle of CBD (?'s) and THC - Where the volcano is set to evaporate the thc specifically where smoking would just burn everything??? (I'm very stoned too)

confused - yeah i'm not sure you would get minerals either it was just an idea i've had for awhile. maybe it truly is the CBD effect that gives you the grounding, and vaporizing just doesn't get as much of that since some of the cannabinoids (cbd included) have a higher vaporization temp.

A volcano is a nice thing to have if you can comfortably afford it.

But I agree that the stone is very different, and to be honest, I still crave the subtle nuances from the cannabinoids in smoking weed. I also just love the smokey taste and the hit too much - so a vape for me is a supplemental method of ingesting THC goodness. It'll never replace smoking outright for me.

actually, why wouldn't you get the minerals? if the THC molecule is preserved (well, at least some of it) even through fire, then you would think a mineral could be also. hence you would get it through smoke

There was an old farmer that used to post on HG 420 dot com with a heart of gold from what I have read. His name was needles. He was called to Heaven earlier than everybody would have liked. I guess he had a favorite vaporizer and it was called The HAPPYVAPPY. I read that he used to vape his White Russian and Willie Nelson while using his tractor on his farm. LOL It looks pretty cool to be able to use it camping or in a vehicle with the different power options.

I dont know about forking over that much money for a volcano when a 100 dollar vaporbrothers vape will produce the same effect for 1/5 or 1/6 the price. Vaporbrothers is very reliable and has never failed me =) I have the normal model and my friend has the handsfree glass-on-glass model, both of which get the job done well. One thing about the VB whips, if you wrap a rubber band around the mouthpiece, you can place it in a bong downstem and get some nice vape-bong tokes :jump:

yeah, I'm still a bit confused myself. I guess resin could just be built up minerals. Here is the definition of minerals. It says something about being neither plant nor animal. I'm still just a stoner, so don't take my word on science  .

min·er·al (mnr-l)
n.
1. A naturally occurring, homogeneous inorganic solid substance having a definite chemical composition and characteristic crystalline structure, color, and hardness.
2. Any of various natural substances, as:
a. An element, such as gold or silver.
b. An organic derivative, such as coal or petroleum.
c. A substance, such as stone, sand, salt, or coal, that is extracted or obtained from the ground or water and used in economic activities.
3. A substance that is neither animal nor vegetable; inorganic matter.
4. An inorganic element, such as calcium, iron, potassium, sodium, or zinc, that is essential to the nutrition of humans, animals, and plants.

i suppose you would have to run an experiment... like smoke into some sort of device that solutes the smoke into water then test the water for minerals. that would be my guess...
