oakland:
asmara on telegraph and 51st is bomb ethiopian food. for fast food burgers, check out smart alec's on telegraph in berkeley....bomb ass veggie burgers and its really reasonably priced.

south bay: tofoo com chay and the vegetarian house on santa clara are both ultra delicious. New Indian Cuisine in willow glen is also excellent.

TOP DOG in berkely has some good hotdogs and sausages theres like 4 of them through out berkely one is right off of telegraph near cal campus.

went to the prime rib house on van ness about 6 months ago. nice cuts and generous portions. my girlfriends uncle is an accountant at a major corporation up there and he paid with his company bonus card. i could barely walk out, i was about 10 pounds heavier. :rasta:

i think most neighborhoods have a good taqueria in them. in the east bay i actually like cactus taqueria on college. Fresh ingredients, well cooked, reasonably priced. It feels like the food there is about as healthy as mexican fast food can get

in the south bay i like jaliso taqueria on king near story. Much more authentic, really good tortas and their burritos are top notch (maybe too much onion in them?)

guerilla- i went to a hole in the wall taco stand in north beach. boy was i sorry. food poisoning bad. it was the one by that stripper hang out. look out. :nono:

yeah, thats the gamble with taquerias. one time i got fucked up food poisoning at the really popular taco truck on 22nd and international in oakland. but the taco truck right by lake merrit and merrit bakery underneath that big billboard on the one way street is consistently quality. you never know

yeah taquerias are always a gamble the one by my apartment was good at first but the last 2 times i went woke up in the middle of the night with the worst heartburn ever plus the screamin shats.EL FAROS is always good there everywhere in the bay and i gotta recomend this el salvadorean restaurant EL ZOCALO in south san francisco on el camino at the bottom of hickey blvd .theres also one in the mission in sf but never been .ive been eating there since i was a little kid .el salvadoreans make these things called pupusas the pork and cheese ones are fuckin grubbin and there dinner plates are very good plus its hella cheap.

Mostly South bay experience here.

As far as taquerias, La Bamba in Mountain View is out of this world. Also really like El Grullo in Sunnyvale. Of course I'm always a Chipotle fanatic but they are all over the country.

St. John's Grill in Sunnyvale off Lawrence Expressway has amazing burgers.

Todai on Wolfe Ave in Cupertino is always good if you need tons of mid grade seafood and sushi. Sushi Factory in San Jose on Meridian (I think, haven't lived in the bay for a while) is my favorite for all around good quality reasonably priced sushi.

Hot Breads in Sunnyvale on El Camino is an amazing indian bakery. They have rolls and crossaints and whatnot stuffed with curried chicken, chicken tika, paneer, gobi (cauliflower), or lamb. They are absolutely amazing with some Sriracha hot sauce.

Zorba's is a greek/italian cafe/deli that I want to say is in Milpitas but now that I think about it, it may be on Fremont Blvd in Fremont. Incredible food.

Nizario's Pizza in Sunnyvale is the best pizza place in the area. I believe they also have a few SF locations.

Downtown San Jose has tons of great places of course.

yo chinatown restraunt is the shit. anna will hook you up with like 20 different things for like 15$. go there and ask for anna and tell her you want the lil bit of everything special. she'll hook you up for sheezy.

for italian go to figaro and another bomb place is enricos off broadway, besides that if you want seafood just go to the wharf, i mean you got the freshest clam chowder, lobster and shrimp everyday. pretty much anywhere in SF is the shit because if it isn't it will not be in buisness for less than 6 months. PLACES NOT TO GO: any place you have in your OWN FUCKIN TOWN! Fuck chain restraunts, get the good homemade authentic shit!

if your ever cravin piroshkis theres a russian bakery called cinderellas in s.f. they have really good baked goods and the piroshkis are the best ive found in the bay.
