I've got 14 Original Grimm Brothers Cinderella 99 seeds in the freezer. Might have to move them to the fridge and pop 'em soon.

130+ posts and only a few talk about the high

Cindy, aside from all the hype that was been generated about this hybrid from day one and still continues today, it still has some good attributes .....it's unique and quite different from most strains (many of which are similar) that are out there today, a fast finisher, lovely fruity scent, breeds true (out of today's 400+ "strains", how many breed true! 5 or 10 of them?), it is a pretty little plant and has a catchy name and preceeded the "Blairwitch Project" as the internet's first major commercially hyped success...

less talked about is how well it combines with other strains, especially longer flowering sativas, which in my opinion is it's best point....it brings faster finishing, denser bud, more resin and better scents to most landrace sativas and hazes I've crossed it to without sacrificing many of the good points of the other strain.....the next "must have" 10 ~ 12 week sativa will probably have some Cindy in it somewhere

but unfortunately I've found insects love it outdoors, it's branches are thin so many examples need staking, esp when topped in veg and although it is potent at first, the high in my opinion, has something lacking and seems a bit "empty" and not satisfying after smoking it for awhile....(and I've picked it early, late and inbetween!)

it's also the fastest strain to develop a tolerance to that I've come across, it's loses it zap or impact very quickly, the high itself is short lived (as are most fast flowering strains) and it's definitely not great to smoke all the time but is nice to smoke alternatively with other strains.

I'm not sure if I believe the "story" about one seed found in a coffee shop deal of Jack Herer.......but if that rings your bell, keep retelling that tale.

I've grown dozens of Cindys and many more crosses I made with her..I've got a couple of Cindy/Haze seedlings in flower going right now!....but the best of any of the Cindys or it's crosses I've grown are at best only not quite as good as the high from Nirvana Seed's Jock Herer (I just wished I made seeds from this strain.....it's one of the few I've grown that I didn't!) which happens to be a personal fave of mine...and it was only $15 per packet back then lol

yet friends of mine prefer Cindy over other strains....everyone is different

and when grown hydroponicly under big lights with clones, Cindy can finish exactly in 50 days with decent yields...i knew a cash cropper who loved
it.

Great overview!

Never had the pleasure of meeting a "pure" C99, but my experience with Grapefruit (supposedly 75% Cindy, crossed to a sativa selected for taste and smell) is pretty much summed up here. Relatively fresh it is just damned strong, and with a long cure the high gains a touch of "depth" but not much in the way of "clarity". Really, really need to try an Apollo cross next year...

But the smell and taste, good Gawd. Simply stunning. :rasta:
