During [Sudatta's] last period of poverty, when all the people had fled or perished and only he and his wife remained, they had five measures of rice that would nourish them for five days. At that time, five people ? Mahakashyapa, Shariputra, Ananda, Rahula and Shakyamuni Buddha ? came one after another to beg for the five measures of rice, which Sudatta gave them. From that day on, Sudatta was the wealthiest man in all India, and he built the Jetavana Monastery. From this, you should understand all things.

Lil Ms. Myoho Disco (my gf) had the 5 hour toso on saturday for a job and today had an amazing interview and they just called her offering a job with paid benefits and a 20% increase from her last job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm blown away, really I'm in shock.

WOW THIS IS AMAZING! I had to share with my family here because we have been sharing the tough moments and also have to give equal time and more merit to the good times as well! This is a huge occasion for us.

Also ever since I became the Chapter leader many youth have been showing up here and there and it has been amazing. My gf had the toso with a 5 year member that just moved here from Brazil and today I got an email from the zone leader to connect with a YMD from Brazil who lives in my area and I asked him if he knew this other girl from Brazil and he said no. So they don't know each other yet but it is amazing that last year me and my gf where the only ones our age doing our thing and now our Youth division has quadrupled in size! WOW!

I have to also report a friend of mine that recieved Gohonzon and never used it recently contacted me and since he doesn't chant and feels he doesn't need Buddhism I kindly asked him to return the Gohonzon to me to the nearest center. I'll see him soon and now that I think about it he only accepted the Gohonzon because he wanted what I had but since he never really chanted for his own goals or on his own he kept slandering himself and Gohonzon and seemingly forgot everything me and some members shared with him when he recieved Gohonzon just before moving out of the state. This was a shakubuku which I paid the donation for since he had no money in order for him to receive his Gohonzon($30 donation when you join that goes towards the Federal Express package from Japan and the cost of putting The Mandala together plus a year subscription to the World Tribune),note to self I won't be financially backing anyone unless I really have to again anytime soon. When I spoke to this guy he was telling me he is worshiping nature and prefers the simplicity of chanting Ohm and I advised him to continue to protect the Gohonzon til he returns it to me and I'll go forward from there after encouraging him to chant once again.

I'm actually expecting two more Gohonzon conferrals in our immediate district this month, both WD and with my gf's shakubuku that is three in the month for our district! WOOOOOHOOOO!

Like the ROAR OF THE LION, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!!!


P.S. I'm still struggling but doing much better, going to try some therapy starting on thursday, I'll be sure to let everyone know how that goes! Thanks for your continued support, and keep hanging in there B!

Similarly, when one knows the Lotus Sutra, one understands the meaning of all worldly affairs.

Life is uncomplete, because a physical image is more important than two starving dogs that have no food. How wondrous it is that, around two hundred years and more into the Latter Day of the Law, I was the first to reveal as the banner of propagation of the Lotus Sutra this great mandala that even those such as Nagarjuna and Vasubandhu, T'ien-t'ai and Miao-lo were unable to express! This mandala is in no way my invention. It is the object of devotion that depicts Shakyamuni Buddha, the World-Honored One, seated in the treasure tower of Many Treasures Buddha, and the Buddhas who were Shakyamuni's emanations as perfectly as a print matches its woodblock.

The Real Aspect of the Gohonzon

What the fuck happened over there brother? Are you okay? I don't understand your post too well but did someone in the SGI say something about your dogs? Listen no matter what anyone says and does, if someone's actions are affecting you adversely it is probably because they are reflecting what you have inside. That truth hurts but the other day I was waiting for my second train to get home and a guy from far away seemed to be talking to me and I was wearing headphones, then when he got upto me he mumbles "throw me on the tracks, come on throw me in front of a train" I walked away then he followed me around and tapped my shoulder and said the same thing. I smelled the booze on him and realized he was totally out of his mind, and then I had to tell him I don't know you please get away and I walked away and then he just started screaming. My initial reaction was to knock him out so he doesnt hurt anyone else or himself but then I felt worried that I may hurt him so I realized the right course of action was to walk away. I dunno but this man was reflecting the fundamental darkness in my life.

I had a meeting that night at my house, only one person came so it was just us two chanting for an hour and half. That hour of daimoku before 15 minutes of gongyo was enough to put me back on track and gonna keep doing my best so that 3 people in my district end up receiving Gohonzon tomorrow. It is so important to get your Gohonzon and overcome all the obstacles associated with it. The bigger obstacles came after I had Gohonzon but I was able to deal with them better because I was already prepared and making causes for the best possible future. I'm still diligently working on that, and constantly on a daily basis connecting with many SGI leaders on various levels to try and be a part of the SGI and make it my organization where a guy like me will flourish and nurture others for same.

Please take a couple steps back next time you want to stereotype a (our) group because of a couple people or a few people. If you need me to intervene in anyway I am a leader in the organization and I could telephone anyone at any center and let them know things are not going smoothly with my brother Desi and we have to do something about it. Let's avoid slander though concurrently and instead keep our focus on the more important goals instead of the obstacles that appear immediately before them. Chanting to Gohonzon allows you take a few steps back and be able to see what is beyond and around the obstacles we're currently facing in life.

I'm learning nothing really good that leads to real happiness comes easy, even to get Gohonzon my life went through the ringer a few times but I was able to overcome all the shit my life was throwing at me and fought hard to get my Gohonzon then become a part of an organization that I hope to inspire and be a strong part of!

Have no fear, your brother is right here!!!

Don't be Afraid. Don't be Defeated. Faith! Victory of Gold!!!!
