What's new

FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14

two possible scenarios about the whole alien thing imo..

a: its some type of brain malfunction. certain ppl are prone to seeing these visions(ufos, spacecrafts) and its some type of undiagnosed brain disorder thats been with us since we evolved...this would explain why ufos are recorded throughout history in art and literature world wide, going back to cave paintings. because theirs always that percentage of the population that has this..some of these ppl manifest their delusions physically by creating phony video, yes even the ppl in 1967+80 (they went into their basements got on their pc's and oh wait)

b: aliens and ufo's are real. and that's why they appear over and over again through history....

most skeptics seem to ignore history. almost any ancient civilization has some shady story that could relate to ufos .go through almost any ancient legend from a society and it almost always involves gods coming from the stars giving them knowledge blah blah etc.from china to the americas..to me the best evidence of alien presence on earth is in the past.the farther back you go the more obvious it becomes.which is how i came to the two options. you can make your arguments about modern day cases after the rosewell boom.but you cant factor out historical drawings and literature, were they in on the hoax too..yes some of them are obviously natural events, but at the same time some obviously aren't.

Did anyone check out the Gary McKinnon interview? Or did anyone read this article I posted above?

Bezz, who cashed your reality check? The ship "REALITY" has set-sail on it's farewell cruise without you my friend.

I read the McKinnon interview and all it proves is that Gary McKinnon is a self-proclaimed nutjob who is obsessed with Aliens and nothing eles.

I quote Mr.McKinnon: "It became an addiction, I stopped washing, I stopped looking after myself, I wasn't eating, I was sitting around my house all day in my dressing gown, doing this all night."

Sounds like Mr. McKinnon has an "alien crack" problem?

And what did he find? NOTHING!

McKinnon said, "I found what I believe MAY BE CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE, photos with what MAY HAVE BEEN alien spacecraft airbrushed out of the picture."

Beez, cicumstantial evidence=nothing! And why would the government keep top-secret photos that have been ruined by airbrushing the only solid evidence out of them that they have to study themselves? What pupose would these worthless photos serve the government? Why woudn't they just destroy them? Why would they keep these wothless photos and take a chance of someone finding them?

McKinnon broke the law by hacking into US government computer systems and causing damage to them. It doesn't matter if he was looking for alien evidence or a recipe for grandmothers apple pie, what he did was illegal and he should held accountable.

Beez, every bit of so-called evidence you have provided is nothing more than a joke. I'm starting to believe that you yourself don't really believe in aliens, and I find myself quickly losing what little respect I may have ever felt for you. Your acting like a fool who knowingly sticks his hand into a box of poisonous snakes hoping to draw forth an ele.

Maybe you & Mr. McKinnon should consider seeking help with this alien addiction problem you both seem to be suffering from.

Good Luck & Best Wishes with your AA (Aiens Anonymous) Program!

 Story of this thread.

Give it a rest guys. You're not gonna convince us due to lack of solid evidence (not youtube videos) and we're not gonna convince you because you've lost your minds.

Lol whatever trouble..keep talking nonsense..Yes I have one or two pics of a southpark character between all the budshots I have..ohh big deal..hamsters??..there bunnies.

I like how you pick one page of my gallery and try to bullshit with me.Again..this argument will end with you not having shit in your gallery so you try to attack mine and have failed.

Zoso..I dont know who has lost their mind but its not me or beez.We are only telling the truth which is not enough for you guys.

Seeing is believing obviously..if you dont care about aliens or life elsewhere then thats fine..We humans are really busy with our lives leaving little thought and seriousness on such subjects. However I think we are going to have some big discoveries in the coming years..

It's all good... it is a shame you cast away all youtube videos, shun them as if they are garbage. this seems to be a very sore subject for many of you guys... the truth is that no matter what evidence is presented, you guys ignore it to fit within your teeny tiny box, dismiss it altogether, and some of you have not even watched the whole movie all the way, 10 minutes through... I never said by this video alone we can rest assured ET exists, but I am definitely saying it needs to be looked into and not just glossed over with impenetrable skepticism.

Some of you guys are getting quite bent out of shape, chill out... I am still open to hearing some intellectual rebuttals... However, it seems to me as you have tried to turn this thread into an insult hurling affair.

I know what I believe, you obviously believe what you believe, just don't be getting bent out shape to the point of childish behavior/comments.

Aren't we all grown up enough to debate something civilly? An intellectual subject ought to be talked about peacefully, with respect, and with good listening/ viewing skills... In all honesty, I have not been respected here and it is you lack of respect in which I don't really care to respond to such foolish remarks. I don't care to single anyone out anymore, it just makes for unnecessary confrontation and ego trips. Get off your skeptic high horses guys, allow yourself for one second to view information presented to you without any preconceptions, or your extensive source criticism, such as youtube and such.

Let's get real here, the chance of us being alone in the universe are extremely unlikely, and furthermore it is pure ignorance to believe we are the only beings in this infinite amount of space. We are a warlike species, confrontational and destructive-- not only to ourselves, but the planet itself... We are weaponizing space and have entered into a new arms race that makes the Cold War look like a day at Disneyland. Are you paying attention to the situation with Russia, Iran, and the whole middle east right now...

These beings are concerned about us... I have provided evidence of ET's rendering the militaries' missiles inoperable on several occasions; this is documented military fact. These "craft" are hanging out around weapons of mass destruction, common sense tells you they are worried about us, observing us kindly, and in a way you could even call this "divine intervention." -- to keep us from totally annihilating ourselves... I mean, we have almost annihilated ourselves how many times now??? Push button destruction of the world, such a great place to be! NOT!

As Mitchell said, the beings we are dealing with are extremely advanced --in our understanding. Their technology definitely far exceeds our capabilities, materials, and our craftsmanship. Over and over again, descriptions of disc or bell shaped "craft" are without any man-made expectations; no rivets, no seams, they are perfect in design. Is it not obvious that these "craft" are not of this world.

ET life is real, and yes I do believe this is true. It's ok that you don't, I'm not mad.

Peace out,

Beez

*edit*

PS, it seems like you feel special bagging on Gary McKinnon... So you read the interview with Gary, pick and chose which little things you wanted to nag on, and then narrowed in and locked on with terrible vengeance and furious anger, (haha) viewing the information from only one side-- your side, which is not objective at all, but rather biased and prejudiced. It is apparent you are indeed siding with the U.S. govt, which is totally embellishing the McKinnon story to its fullest, exaggerating and distorting the truth, and in effect you guys are loving it, take it and run... So now I will ask you if you have watched the interview with McKinnon, actually WATCHED it all the way through in it's entirety-- the whole 17 minute interview which I provided the link for in a previous post, in addition to the very brief interview blurb and media coverage. Here it is again...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4PkNPCEnJM&feature=related

Now, if you want to here what evidence McKinnon found, fast forward to about 6 min, 50 seconds...

Interviewer: "Did you find what you were looking for"
GM: "Yeah..."

"I got one picture out of the folder and ... it was a picture of something that definitely wasn't something man-made... this thing was hanging in space... no rivets, no seams, none of the stuff associated with normal manmade manufacturing..."

McKinnon basically solidifies and confirms the testimony of The Disclosure Project's NASA witness, Donna Hare.... responsible for launching/landing slides and other technical stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OXi0DcHAbY
The same exact building as McKinnon hacked into!

So did you watch the McKinnon interview, and hear HIS side too... I think its only fair to give all the evidence a fair shot, this is respectable and only responsible...

What going on there noggy? Hey look man...I'm not an avid follower of life on other planets or the possibility of space creatures living amongst us, I will be the 1st to admit this.....maybe they are..........maybe they aren't, not high on my list, I'm usually more concerned about rent/groceries/utilities/insurance payments/the price of gasoline/ college tuition and some good genetics in the fridge to get me through the previously mentioned items? What I am an avid follower of is real, live human being types that I consider to be friends. I used to have a good friend(gone now) that loved watching "Star Trek", this guy was a trekkie SUPERFREAK. He would turn that shit on and within 15 minutes I would split because that shit wasn't my bag / but he ENJOYED IT? Everyone is different. You are way out of line with your comments regarding my friend "Trouble". This man on MORE THAN ONE occasion has gifted me seeds when I was FLAT BROKE and had NOTHING to smoke.LET KNOW ONE IN HERE FORGET,THIS IS A MARY JANE SITE FIRST AND FOREMOST. He may disagree with your alien fixation but he is a GOOD, KIND & decent man that would help out a TRUE friend in a second, AND THAT is what I CARE ABOUT. I'd like to ask you 1 question before I sign off. When was the last time an alien came down and helped you out when you were in need....need of some seed? You see where I'm coming from? Trouble is a good dude and I won't let ANYONE in here talk shit about him because he does not share your passion about aliens from outerspace. If you reside in the U.S. you should be so passionate about aliens entering our country from south of the border.Much bigger problem. Peace/Bob

UFO sighting: What did Thomasville man see?

By MIKE ARGENTO
For The Evening Sun
Article Launched: 08/07/2008 10:35:20 AM EDT

Dave Dietz of Thomasville saw something in the night sky last week, and he's still not sure what.

Dietz isn't some kind of nut. He doesn't have posters of UFOs in his office. He doesn't believe Bigfoot is stalking the woods beyond his Jackson Township home. He doesn't believe in paranormal nonsense.

He's a scientist by trade, an environmental geologist. By avocation, he's an amateur astronomer. His office bookshelves contain tomes about geology and astronomy. There's not an "I want to believe" poster in sight.

And so, he doesn't know how to explain what he saw one recent night while driving home from Abbottstown.

"It was something in the sky, and it was unidentified," Dietz, 48, said. "What I saw was something I can't identify."

That makes it a UFO.

It was between 10:30 and 11 p.m. when he saw something in the southern sky. He looks at the sky a lot, having an interest in the heavens, and he could tell immediately that what he saw was something he hadn't seen before.

It was a group of bright orbs, much brighter than the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, the Dog Star. They weren't planets; they weren't in a part of the sky that any planet would appear in. He didn't know what they were.

They hovered, in a kind of V-shape, and turned around. They weren't moving.

When he got home, he stood in the backyard of his 18th-century home and watched the lights. They were moving around, but not in any way that would indicate any kind

of aircraft he's familiar with.
His wife had never seen anything like it before, either. Their 10-year-old son, Nicholas, came out and watched, too.

Dietz snapped photos, about 40 in all. The photos show lights that don't appear to be like any aircraft or easily explained phenomena.

At one point - a moment captured in one of his photos - the grouping of bright lights seemed to expel one of the lights.

"It shot out," he said. "It reminded me of one of those marshmallow guns."

He stayed in the yard until about 1 a.m., watching the lights, and then went to bed. The next day, he looked at the pictures and tried to figure out what it was he had seen in the sky.

"As a scientist, the first thing I tried to do was debunk it," he said.

He checked satellites on the Internet and found none that would be visible to the naked eye in that area of the sky. Even if it were a satellite, he said, satellites do not move in the way the lights he saw moved. He checked to see whether the space shuttle was orbiting; shuttles were earthbound, he found.

He checked the location of the International Space Station. It could have been that, he said. But it would have been in another part of the sky and would have been visible only for a few minutes.

Nothing he checked could have been the lights, he said.

"I still haven't been able to debunk it," he said.

He reported it to the Mutual UFO Network at MUFON.com, but he hasn't heard anything back.

"I'm not saying I saw aliens," he said. "But with all of the billions of galaxies and stars in the universe, it's foolish to think we're the only people out there."

MUFON lists UFO sightings in Pennsylvania. Some of them seen plausible. Others not so much. On the other hand, former President Jimmy Carter once said he saw a UFO.

A message left at MUFON's Fort Collins, Colo., headquarters went unanswered. (The automated telephone operator at MUFON says, "To report an abduction experience, please press 2.")

MUFON has reported a wave of UFO sightings in Pennsylvania.

The Bucks County Courier Times in suburban Philadelphia recently ran a story about four separate reports of UFOs.

York County 911 reported it did not receive any calls from other people who may have seen the lights. The York Airport didn't receive any reports either.

"On occasion, we'll hear rumors about things," said operations manager Rick Fuess. "One of the things we hear about are helicopters."

Dietz said what he saw didn't look anything like any helicopter, or any other aircraft, he's aware of.

"All I'm saying is I saw something and it was unidentified," he said. "Being a scientist and an astronomy nut, does that give me more credibility or less credibility?"

cool stuff..

Thanks for that article beez. There has been alot of ufo news articles from all around the world lately.

To bob and raistlin,as long as you say trouble is cool.I never said ufos are my passion and im no trekkie.I only am stating what is common sense and fact about this stuff.

Yes you should be more concerned about your everyday life needs but you should be aware of life outside the box.The gov runs the world and what they say people do.Marijuana is an example. So many people are brainwashed into thinking its bad but ofcourse we know the truth.

UFO Disclosure – The Harsh Reality
by Patrick Cooke

On May 9, 2001, Dr. Steven Greer of The Disclosure Project paraded a convincing cast of military and government witnesses before cameras at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. And then......nothing. Almost 6 years of non-disclosure about why it never went beyond that single press conference, even though it was the brightest "flash in the pan" the UFO movement had experienced. Almost immediately, Greer set up a corporation dedicated to finding the elusive technology to provide the world's energy needs with "alien technology". He put all his efforts into that, and all we ever got was a video to remember the hope the press conference generated. The hope that, finally, we might get some answers from the government went the way of most alternatives to mainstream thought; it got sold.

Even though very little has been done, not withstanding the efforts of Steven Basset and a few others to force government disclosure, something recently, almost out of the ether, seems to have generated that governmental UFO disclosure so important to the credibility of the entire UFO movement. And, interest in UFOs has spread from the generally ignored paranormal and UFO "community" to the mainstream media. Suddenly, the justified fear of ridicule connected with reporting UFO sightings is fading and acceptance by the mainstream is increasing.

Recent Disclosure History

The best remembered UFO disclosure event to occur, which remains one of the largest "elephant in the room" in the UFO field, was Project Blue Book in 1969 that was undertaken by the United States Air Force. It was officially discontinued with the Air force citing the reason that UFOs did not present any threat to national security. It should be noted that this was not a denial of existence.

We do not need to go back hundreds or thousands of years to find clues to the current interest in UFOs; a decade will suffice.

March 1997 - The Phoenix Lights event garnered the widest international attention of any UFO encounter in modern history in March 13, 1997. Less than two years later, in

January 1999 - Joe Firmage, a Silicon Valley CEO turned UFO evangelist, posted his a 700-page UFO manifesto, "The Truth".

May 2001 - The Disclosure Project National Press Club event mentioned above took place, and Stephen Bassett took up the cause of UFO disclosure in his independent candidacy in the 8th Congressional District of the State of Maryland.

May, 2004 The Mexican Department of Defense released videos of a sighting of multiple UFOs taken by an Air Force Merlín C26A, virtually admitting that UFOs exist.

July, 2004 - Governor of New Mexico and presidential candidate, Bill Richardson, stated, "It would help everyone if the U.S. government disclosed everything it knows."

February, 2005 "Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs -- Seeing Is Believing"

May, 2005 - A year after the Mexican DoD released its videos, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) releases all its files on UFO contacts.

September 2005 - Paul Hellyer, Canada’s Defence Minister, publicly stated, "UFOs, are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head."

April 2006 the Paradigm Clock, which tracks proximity to a formal acknowledgement of an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race, was reset to 11:59:45, just 15 seconds to midnight.

November 2006 - A significant sighting took place at O'Hare Airport in Chicago and received worldwide attention and media coverage.

February 2007 The Chilean Army discloses recordings and secret contacts with UFOs before over a thousand attendees at the 10th International UFO Congress.

March 2007 - The French national space agency, CNES, placed 1600 previously classified UFO sighting reports into the public domain on the Internet.

March 2007 - Former Arizona governor, Fife Symington, revealed that he had seen a massive black triangular UFO fly overhead early in the evening of March 17, 1997 - the first Phoenix Lights event.

April 2007 - The proposed "U.N. Decade Of Contact" to establish diplomatic relations with advanced E.T.s petition is well on its way to reaching its goal for submission to the United Nations.

Of the 14 major events listed above, which are moving UFO disclosure closer to reality, 11 have occurred in the last 24 months. This indicates that the mainstream is moving rapidly toward an acceptance of the greatest revelation in human history. Or, is that better phrased as a return to the beliefs our ancestors held since the beginning of human history?

The UFO Paradigm Shift

There is no record of recent influence in human affairs, by the occupants of UFOs, although there have been reports of high tech tampering with nuclear weapons and possible power interferences during exotic weapons testing. This is, of course, excluding the exotheological concept that the ancient religious writings were inspired by extraterrestrial contact. Most of the UFO contact recorded with the military is because of the mere presence of UFOs, not any aggressive action on their part. Just the fact that they are there seems to make those witnessing them presume they are, somehow, interfering with human activity.

So, how did the concept originate that these incredible flying vehicles seen throughout the history of mankind were "evil aliens from outer space"? The telescope was not introduced to astronomy until 1609 by the Italian scientist Galileo Galilei, but six of the nine planets are easily seen by the unaided human eye. This means that humankind has been looking at these objects, whether they understood what they were or not, since first gazing into the sky, and Earth was not even generally known to be a planet until the 17th century. Up until that time, it was believed all the known planets orbited the Earth. Before Galileo invented his telescope, the planets of the Solar System were not recognized as potential locations or worlds, they were only lights that moved differently from stars. The shift of concepts from gods commanding UFOs to visitors from other planets had its origin in two events:

First, Giovanni Virginio Schiaparelli, who was director of the Milan Observatory and an esteemed Italian astronomer, saw Mars in a whole new light through his telescope in 1877. He created the first "modern" map of Mars, on which he showed a system of what he called “canali”. Although canali in Italian means "channel“ or “gully”, without the implication of being an artificial feature, when his work was translated into English, the word “canali” was incorrectly rendered as canal. This mistakenly implied something made, rather than natural, and was immediately taken to mean that Schiaparelli had discovered evidence of intelligent life on Mars.

Then, only 21 years later, the War of the Worlds, written by H. G. Wells in 1898, which described an invasion of England by aliens from Mars, was published. It was an instant hit in its day, and had a repeat impact 40 years later when Orson Welles broadcast a radio adaptation of War of the Worlds by the Mercury Theatre as a Halloween special on October 30, 1938, which caused panic throughout the United States.

Combined with Schiaparelli's falsely labeled "Canals on Mars" hitting the public just two decades before, the die was cast. From that point forward, up to the present day, UFOs, have been connected with life from other planets. If we presume that recorded history goes back 12 to 14 thousand years, mankind thought they were gods for 13,900 years, and aliens from other worlds only a little over 100 years. We have no more proof that there is life on other planets than we did 14,000 years ago, yet, UFOs are thought by almost everybody to be from other worlds. This is a very strong point to consider when determining who is piloting them and what they actually are.

When Disclosure Happens

Little thought is ever given to what will happen, how the world’s major institutions will react when the world becomes aware of the definite presence of UFOs, beyond the possible threat they may pose to humanity. Completely absent from the debate is any possible benefit this may bring to the world, even though there is no evidence they intend any harm. The reality is not the danger they pose directly to mankind, but the indirect negative effect such a presence would have on earthly institutions, especially the bottom-line, whether that line refers to wealth or power.

We must first consider the immediate impact either a high presence of UFOs in our skies, or the open admission by government or the media of that presence, would have on society. In other words, proof that the world will accept that UFOs exist. The ramifications of such a revelation would have no rivals in human history and, therefore, any concepts about this are purely speculative, so, the rare values of logic and common sense must be applied.

The Government

The worlds' governments, which will be the first to respond, can hardly be viewed as independent entities, but controlled by the nature of who, or what, power has the greatest influence over them at any given time. History and current reality testify that this will not be the people the governments claim to serve. Whether it is big business, the military, religion, or whatever entity at the helm of any particular government, those truly in control will determine the reaction.

The theory that our government has developed, or is in the process of forming relationships with alien visitors is interesting, but has a very serious drawback. Michio Kaku, a professor in the field of theoretical physics, has proposed an interesting perspective about the way we view extraterrestrial visitors. He questioned the common view that these visitors may be thousands of years more advanced than humanity, and put forth the concept that we should be thinking in terms of millions of years more advanced.

With this in mind, and even allowing that they might be from other worlds, they surely know that we are destroying the very environment we inhabit and causing great harm to the majority of the less fortunate on Earth. They can hardly miss the thousand of warplanes, bomb tests, wars in progress, and web of military bases worldwide. Just to get to the planet they would pass through a virtual cloud of satellites and space junk shrouding the globe. Those satellites are sending and receiving massive quantities of information, including all radio, television, and other communication streams. All they have to do is listen to what has occurred, and what is currently happening, to get a good idea of what kind of intelligence controls this planet.

And, by listening, they would learn that we are warlike, aggressive, self-serving, crime-ridden, self-destructive, territorial, selfish, and an extremely greedy race. They would know that scandal, violence, deceit, murder, confrontation, and avarice not only infest the planet, but that these undesirable characteristics are actually staples of the inhabitant’s entertainment. They would also find that the leaders of the peoples of Earth are fiercely protective of their own territory and possessions and, they would be shocked and distressed that most of the scientists and brilliant minds are engaged in the two most destructive pursuits on the planet, war and the chemical industry.

Any consideration that they are just as deceitful, have a relation of convenience with human governments, and plan to take over the planet, also, has a great hurdle of logic to surmount before it would make any sense. Ignoring the rest of the historical sightings record, it would be safe to state that they have had a clear presence since the end of World War II. If invasion and control was their goal, they would not have waited several decades, while we advanced in leaps and bounds, militarily and technologically, to initiate such a plan. There can be little doubt that if an extraterrestrial race were to have any relations with human government, they would either be completely naive or just plain stupid. The concept that this is "intelligent" life from another planet makes little sense when reality enters the equation.

The Military

Power is the prime directive, which guides the military establishment, and the main thing that a UFO disclosure will most threaten. All military forces will be "outgunned" and perceptively weak in every area, from weapons to technology, and will blindly follow the commands of the governments controlling them. Aggression against a far-superior force will, of course, defy logic, but will probably be the tactic they follow.

Here we must try to determine how the occupants of UFOs will respond to "demands" and acts of aggression from a weaker entity. If history is any example, the military may be saved from any greater harm than is necessary. Despite uncounted numbers of encounters between the military and UFOs, there is no evidence that they even retaliate. Any race of beings with even a modicum of tactical understanding would know that the easiest way to neutralize the power of the military, in this technological age, would be to disrupt the electronics, the computers that seem to control everything, military or otherwise. Take out the satellites, disrupt the communications, and crash the computers and the air forces would be grounded, the navies would be powerless, and the armies would be back to rifles and hand to hand combat, instantly. Just the presence of UFOs, as reported by witnesses, disturbs all things technological anyway.

There is a prediction about a unified world force resisting the takeover of the planet by an overwhelming power, not of earthly origin, in the most widely published book in history, the Bible. Ironically, this battle, which takes place in a valley called Armageddon, and which did not occur in ancient times, describes only massive ground forces and horses, not sophisticated weaponry. Whether it is divine or advanced alien power, the military probably will not, and can not, play a major role in defending the planet. The military would not be thrilled by a power that would effectively make it look weak by comparison, and with such overwhelming strength running the show, the military would be rendered useless.

Big Business

The true power behind the throne, global corporations, which are controlled by the world's rich and powerful elite, will be the institution to watch. If, as the ancient writings predict, our flying visitors decide mankind is not capable of controlling it's affairs, without destroying itself and threatening the rest of the universe, big business will find its power in extreme danger. Surely, the record written by the drive for profit will serve as testimony for its complete overhaul and the elimination of greed-driven profit standards. Any threats to the chokehold global corporations have over almost every aspect of life will be intolerable and met with the swiftest of resistance.

It is unlikely that, for all their money and power, they will be able to buy or deal their way out of it, and, they have nothing else. Big business will not lay out the welcome mat for a power that could end its dictatorial role over the world and eliminate the concept of the corporation altogether.

Science

Science will have a lot to answer for when UFO disclosure becomes a mainstream reality. They are the ones with eyes out in space, the sophisticated technology, and they are the ones, who would, and should, know about UFOs, yet they have consistently debunked and denied they exist. And, if a far superior intelligence appears on the scene, all their grandiose theories and suppositions will suddenly become unimportant. In fact, that very concept may be the reason they have denied the existence of UFOs with such fervor.

In 1961, NASA commissioned the most influential think tank in the country, the Brookings Institute, to study the impact of revealing the existence of extraterrestrial life to the public. The following excerpt from the report titled "Proposed Studies on the Implications of Peaceful Space Activities for Human Affairs", done by Brookings, shows why science could be severely damaged by such a revelation.

On page 225 of that report we find this warning: “It has been speculated that of all groups scientists and engineers might be the most devastated by the discovery of relatively superior creatures since these professions are most clearly associated with the mastery of nature rather than the understanding and expression of man. Advanced understanding of nature might soon vitiate, (corrupt), all our theories at the very least.”

Considering that science, in its infinite wisdom, has gone so far as to deceive mankind about the presence of UFOs, it is easy to see why it would not be all warm and fuzzy over accepting UFOs.

Education

One of the saddest aspects of the UFO cover-up is the loss to mankind of the wonders of history. Gone from mainstream thought are the flying gods of the ancient world, who had a constant relationship with our ancestors. These are the same gods, who may have constructed the great megaliths of the world, and left traces of a technology mankind has not been able to rival in thousands of years of advancement. And, the gods who taught the world that love for one another and respect for the natural world was the only way to have peace among nations and true progress in human affairs. Instead, we are left with myriads of contradictions, benign theories, and a host of unanswered questions.

Education has left voids in our history and great gaps in our understanding of our true origin and purpose in the universe. Not even the hint of an extraterrestrial presence can be found in academia and, what may be truth is often presented as myth. No doubt, education will drastically change, and everything that was taught will have to be modified. It is hard to determine how academia will respond to a UFO disclosure, but it will certainly shake the world of education to its very foundations.

Religion

The beings of the Bible, called God, possess and use an advanced technology that allows them to fly in vehicles, which are described by the biblical witnesses as strikingly similar to UFOs.

This technology extends far beyond flight. The church has chosen to ignore the evidence that supports this, in spite of hundreds of biblical verses proving it. Not only the obvious exclusion of this reality, but also the characterization of demonic association by the more zealous, gives rise to the evidence of a conspiracy of ignorance either in place, or in the making.

The gulf religion has placed between mankind and its gods has no room for a superior intelligence. There is no reason to believe that it will re-examine its writings and find what may the true nature of UFOs, and will probably declare them ungodly. The very fact that the Bible, which the Christian Church claims as its foundation, clearly states that Jesus will come from the sky and is rejected by the world seems to indicate that the Church will not be overjoyed by the prospect of UFOs.

Archeology and History

The archeological field is in possession of direct evidence of advanced technology and beings in the remnants of ancient cultures. They don’t declare it as evil, just unknown. The fact that these objects could not possibly have been made by the culture they represent goes unmentioned. This reality is mirrored in many of the world’s ancient writings. The field of anthropology is silent on the written evidence, veiling it myth and legend. Our history is incomplete without a clear understanding that our ancestors were in direct contact with a race of advanced beings.

Our remnants of the past are mislabeled and improperly associated to satisfy certain antiquated theories of our past. And, there is no other branch in the recognized orthodox scientific community that even admits there is anything strange going on in our skies. We cannot prove that they are withholding information intentionally, but that does not change the fact that they are withholding it. Neither archeologists, nor historians, are likely to welcome a UFO disclosure.

The Media

Perhaps the most difficult of all social institutions to assess, concerning a UFO disclosure, would be the media. It will respond to the mood of people, the mandates of the government, and the concerns of all the rest, especially their sponsors, in an unpredictable way. Logic and reality have no effect on ratings and they will gravitate toward the point of least resistance. Unfortunately, the media is where people will turn for answers and those answers will have little to do with reality and everything to do with editorial whim. And, considering the mainstream media outlets, other than the internet, are owned and controlled by major corporations, the way those corporations react will probably determine how the media reacts.

In Conclusion

The media has also formed the mainstream perception of UFOs and unearthly visitors through books, television series, documentaries, the print media, and movies. Just a simple assessment of the way this has been portrayed in the best known movies involving "alien" visitors shows what that perception is. Here is a list:

Alien, The Andromeda Strain, The Arrival, The Blob, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Cocoon, The Colony, Contact, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Deep Star Six, Dreamcatcher, E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial, Earth vs. the Flying Saucers, The Fifth Element, Fire in the Sky, Forbidden Planet, I Married a Monster From Outer Space, Independence Day, Interceptor Force, Invasion Earth: The Aliens Are Here, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Invasion, It Came From Outer Space, Lifeforce, Mars Attacks!, The Martian Chronicles, Men in Black, Not of This Earth, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Predator, Signs, Species, Starship Troopers, They Are Among Us, They Live, The Thing, The War of the Worlds, When Worlds Collide, The X-Files - Fight the Future, and Xtro.

Of the 40 movies listed, (over 50 with sequels included), about 90% portray "alien" visitors as a threat to humanity, either bent on the destruction of the planet or its most intelligent two-legged inhabitants. In other words, it is an extremely negative view. And, the portrayal of UFOs and their occupants in other forms of media is just as negative. Added to this discouraging reality the fact that the major institutions of government, the military, big business, science, education, religion, archeology, history, and the media don't seem to have any logical reason to portray UFOs as beneficial to the human race, and we have a very serious problem many in the UFO community have not considered. And, also, in the equation are those within the UFO community, who have already, unjustifiably, declared UFOs and their occupants a danger to humanity or a satanic deception. One would be hard pressed to find any in society who would not be, at least, highly suspicious of the agenda of the UFO, which is the result of over a century of negative conditioning.

There will be a UFO disclosure and it is probably very close to happening, but it would seem that rolling out the red carpet, an extension of welcome and friendship, and an invitation to the United Nations may not be the results of such an event. The code will probably be red, not the carpet, anxiety and fear will be the most likely attitude, and the United Nations will not meet to welcome the visitors, but to call an emergency session to deal with this newly perceived threat to humanity. E.T, will not ask to "phone home", but will be told to "go home". What happens after that will probably be stranger than any science fiction movie could ever portray.

If, as the ancient writings, such as the Bible, describe how this will all play out is true, it will be the most disastrous period in the human experience, due primarily to the approach and attitude outlined in this writing. Our only hope is that this attitude is wrong, and that the "aliens" do have mankind's interest as their agenda. If they are not here to help us, but actually to destroy us, they would only be speeding up a process already set in motion. If global warming doesn't destroy the planet and every living thing on it, we have nuclear weapons, chemicals, pandemics, pollution, or any number of manmade threats that will eventually wipe out all life on Earth.

They have been here as long as we have, or at least as long as we have been able to record their presence. We are now in a time of great peril, and any logical consideration of world conditions reveals that only a miracle can save us now. We may not like it, and fight against it with every ounce of energy we can muster, but what might seem like an invading force may actually be the universal cavalry coming to save us from our own self destruction. UFO disclosure may eventually reveal much more than we ever imagined.

Pathetic. Science is the search of the truth. There is no agenda.

Yes, there are scientists who blindly believe their theories. But the vast majority is just as happy when they are proven wrong.

That whole friggen article lacks any substance whatsoever.

March 1997 - The Phoenix Lights event garnered the widest international attention of any UFO encounter in modern history in March 13, 1997.

Those were fucking battle flares, and proof that whenever anyone sees unexplained lights in the sky it's automatically a spaceship. This UFO hype is like a disease. I understand though; they want to believe, as do I. However, I am not so easily convinced.

at this point, it may be helpful to point out that "ufo" means "unidentified flying object". if i spot something flying overhead and cannot identify it, i can, in honesty, refer to it as a "ufo". to leap to the conclusion that said "ufo" contains extra-terrestrial life forms or, at the very least, is an extra-terrestrial probe of some sort, would be silly, to say the least.

the foregoing article, as Zoso has already pointed out, lacks substance entirely. just read it (as much as you can stand) with a critical eye and i think you will agree.

get over yourself... the only thing that is silly is you :rasta:

This is beyond unidentified, they are identified, some not, but many, and the many that have been identified are some type of super advanced craft, using antigravity propulsion, lacking any man-made features... no rivets, no seams, nothing!

The evidence is here! No way avoiding it...

I really dont think its silly at all.It must be as silly as nasa sending robots to other planets. Our technology is advancing fast and the universe is vast.

"super advanced craft" ... ? that sounds convincing.

yes, the universe is mighty big, and the odds are that there is not only life out there, but life that is more advanced technologically, than us. i just dont accept ancient scribblings, grainy videos and talk of government cover-ups as solid evidence that we have been visited.

dont get me wrong, i would love to have some aliens drop by for a cup of tea, but i won't be holding my breath.

The body of evidence goes far beyond "ancient scribblings," grainy videos, and talk of government cover ups....

The truth of the matter is that virtually every government has acknowledged the presence of extraterrestrial life, except the United States... and this life is actual entities traveling vast distances to observe us, documented military fact of craft hovering over weapons storage and launch facilities-- shutting down our weapons of mass destruction. Let me say it again... DOCUMENTED MILITARY AND AVIATION FACT....

As for the "ancient scribblings:" If you have ever read any ancient literature from the Near East you will quickly come to the conclusion that beings have visited us in our past and have many times before, over and over again on a continual basis."

Exodus 13: 21-22
“And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night; the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.

Exodus 16: 9-10
“Say to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, ‘Come near before the LORD for he has heard your murmurings.’ And as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.”

Exodus 14: 19-25
“...And there was the cloud and the darkness; and the night passed *(and it lit up all night) without one coming near the other all night...."

*(and it lit up all night -- Hebrew, footnote citation)

Exodus 24:15
“Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. The glory of Yahweh settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and on the seventh day he [Yahweh] called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. Now the appearance of the glory of Yahweh was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel. And Moses entered the cloud, and went up on the mountain.”

Exodus, 40:34
"Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting, because the cloud abode upon it, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle. Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would go onward; but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not go onward till the day that it was taken up. For throughout all their journeys the cloud of Yahweh was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.”

The Apocalypse of Adam; The Nag Hammadi Library
"Afterwards great angels will come on high clouds, who will bring those men into the place where the spirit of life dwells," or "And great clouds of light will descend, and other clouds of light will come down upon them from the great aeons."

Ezekiel, Ch.1:4

"And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire."

Ezekiel 1:16
"The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel."

These are very well preserved writings that depict encounters with flying machines and "supernatural" beings from the heavens...

You can't change the past and what was written... Were these ancient people watching Star Trek?
