american tele custom sold my strat. Been signed toured am writer and producer. After many amps there is only one that makes sense to me. Computer gear too much to list. I prefer sonar over pro tools and recorded albums using both.

BOGNER AMP AND CAB NOTHING ELSE COMES EVEN CLOSE BEST CRUNCH AROUND . There are a few Class A amps I like for clean but many are el crapo.

hey strain-

I'm a fan of tele's. It's a tossup for me between a JC120 and a classic Twin as far as my amps go. But I'm really a bassist...what do I know!?! :D

Nice attitude for a bassist! Most wont ask questions they know everything. LOL JK

Eden is pricey but very fat!

Oh yeah...as for bass rigs...I'm ampeg for raw power and sheer bite. But I've got an eden rig and 1200W power amp for big, hi-fi solid-state live tone. Actually, still trying to find my epic live bass rig. Alot like finding the "perfect" strain:D

playing 30yrs now........
Custom shop Les Paul(standard) I love Les, a true Genius!
1973 50w Marshall head, British issue, different tubes than North American versions.
1973-76 4x12 bass cab, bass cab has heavier internal bracing :wink: (not sure on year)
Marshall Power Soak (my parents would have sold their soul for one of these).
And thats' it.
Oh, almost forgot, got a little Marshall 12w amp, and a JCM 900 50w twin 12.

This guitar and amp has the most BEAUTIFUL SOUND I have ever heard from an electric instrument.It can ALMOST bring tears to my eyes.
This is my second LP/Marshall4x12 I have owned.
But have jammed on quite a few through the years...Umm decades.

Music and growing are the things I have done since I was a little kid, I popped my first seeds at about ten yrs.old, about the same time I began to play.My Mom and Dad bought me my first Les Paul for X-mas when I was 12,(thanks Mom and Dad, even though you will never see this) like a fucking idiot, I sold it in my 30s.)

I am old, and I don't like it.

I was gonna be a "rockstar" LOL :D , now I'm a 41 year old with bad feet(diabetes) :badday:
Thanks to any body who reads this.
My Stuff........(I think this LP is very beautiful)

Les Paul

Les Paul

I play a 20th Anniversary Les Paul Custom Black Beauty, used a Fender Bassman for years until it burned with my60's Gold Top deluxe , Now I use one of the first Line 6 amps a 60 watt Flextone and I also play a lot of bass. I have a 84 Fender Precision Elite. It's a strange thing. Only has 2 knobs and plugs in like a Les Paul on the bottom. I also Marshall MG100half stack I got for way too cheap. I didn't even want it but for $250 and it was under warranty I had too. Then I have a Jap strat and a Mex strat that I love both. I use a A/DA Flanger and a ProCO RAT, and thats it. I have a Robin Trower signed strat too! Mexican made.

Wow. NICE NICE NICE! I have a 79 50w JMP & a factory white 78 4x12 w/rolas.

Nothing like the sound of a LP thru a cranked Marshall. It feels nice standing right in front of them, too!

what I am Jammin on

what I am Jammin on

Heya fellow musicians!!!
Love the gear pics so far, if I was rich I'm sure that I would be using some of the same stuff. A vintage LP *I Wish* would be perfect, but as it stands I am struggling along with a Jackson Performer - PS4 (pre-fender 2001 model), modified with a Seymour Duncan SH-8 invader in the bridge position, and a Hipshot Tremsetter attached to the Floyd Rose liscensed trem. I also have a Schecter Avenger 7-string that is fully stock (got it for 100 bucks). My amplifier is a Randall RH200 Half Stack, very very loud, but has little tone of it's own. I only have 2 pedals I have a vintage Danelectro Fab Tone (actually has a metal body and true bypass) and I have a Morley standard wah, if I had the money I would only add one more pedal, a 10 band EQ and I would be happy. My acoustics are also kind of on the cheap side, I have a Takamine G-240 and a Yamaha F325 both six string non-electric non-cutaway.
I also have a cheapo 5 piece drum set, but it sounds decent with the new heads, and a ton of PA equipment - large enough for outdoor shows.
I have been playing for about 10 yrs now, was almost in a band once, currently trying to put something together, but drummers are hard to come by. I will post some pics of my stuff tomorrow. Until then -
Rock On!!!!

I dabble a bit, not nearly as much as I'd like due to time constraints & other things but I love dinking around with my guitars...Was never in a band or anything, mainly because I only picked up a guitar for the first time in my life @ ~19, moved away & was never able to find time/people to play, so basically I just sit by myself & play along with cds or whatever...But hey it makes me happy so....

Guitars:
- Norman acoustic, model? my wife's guitar, or it was hers until she showed me how to do some chords, then I picked it up real quick & got better than her & she got pissed & stop playing since lol
-"Skylark", a little 20" kid's toy guitar which is actually how I got "good" during college, I pust some real strings on & it served me well...had a buddy who was amazed I could play tons of Sabbath songs on that thing
- Epiphone Goldtop, my first real guitar, always special
- Epiphone Special II, wine red...originally bought as a cheap backup so I could bring it with me out of town for work & not worry about freezing temps. & leaving it in the car etc... I put a Duncan JB in in the bridge & the thing actually rocks hard! Probably the most played out of all...
- Cheap red POS, bought for $40 as the "travelling" guitar, since I didn't want anything to happen to the Special...sounds like crap big time
- Gibson ZW bullseye Les Paul, man I worked my ass off for that, took me 3 years of planning lol Awesome guitar.
- Epiphone ZW camo Les Paul, got this "free" sort of, long story...

Amps:
- Peavy studio pro 112, first amp...60W but extremely loud, for the price very nice...
- Danelectro Honeycomb, I think 1W, for travel
- Marshall JCM800 2300ZW, collectors edition, one of only 600...Too figgin loud for the house lol Very expensive but no regrets, sounds beyond amazing...

Got a bunch of pedals & other stuff of course....

The worst thing is, despite having all this great gear & loving to play, I hardly ever do...Due to numerous reasons....But I'm hoping that'll change next year, planning to build myself a "music room" which will give me more freedom to do what I want to do...

Thats the truth if I ever heard it Pactivist! A good drummer is just so hard to come by... Since I started this thread, I have actually started up a new band after finding one of the msot amazing drummers I have ever seen play...The man can rock the skins like no other. It just seems like no-one ever wants to play the drums when they are younger...Everyone wants to be a guitar player.... Must be because we are just sooooo cool :laughing:

Ive finally taken some pictures of my Gibsons, unfortunately now I've lost th cable to upload the pics onto my hard drive...That reminds me, im gonna go searching for it again right now.

Everyone keep rocking!! :headbange

You know I find a lot of parallels & analogies between guitar playing and growing plants that help me understand things how/why folks do what they are doing.

acoustic = soil
electric = hydroponic
semi-hollow = coco

single coil p/u = top drip
humbucker p/u = ebb n flow
filtertron p/u = dwc
coil tap = aeroponic

strings = nutes

cable = tap water
wireless = RO water
george l's cable = filtered water

effects pedals = additives
*tuner = PH up & down
*overdrive = veg stimulator
*wah = bloom stimulator
*delay = sugar/carbs
*eq = enzyme

amplifier = lights
*ac30 = 600hps
*marshall stack = 1000hps
*mesa/boogie = dual spectrum
*fender twin - outdoor

Its funny.... I look at my grow like a fucking signal chain. but It makes sense, donnit?

edit: What's really funny is here is my signal chain with my favorite guitar:
Noel Gallagher Supernova > George L's cables > Boss TU2 > Fulltone FDII > Tesse Wizard > Ibanez AD9 > Boss EQ7 > Marshall 50w JMP+4x12

seems to flow pretty much with my 4x4 grows:
coco > ebb n flow> filtered water > AN PH down > Canna Rhizo > Canna PK 13/14 > Botanicare Sweet > Cannazym > 1k

ayhoo that's what being high gets ya!

A pic of my axe

A pic of my axe

Here is a pic of my Ibanez, it's a S370 and was purchased at rock bottom price before they switched to the new ball bearing floyds so it's the old school knife edge floyd. Has a great sound and good feel, keeps tune even after huge dives so I am very happy with it.

I plug it into my Digitech RP90 floor processor which in turn feeds my 20W tweed RMS practice amp. When I need to get real loud I plug it into my fender M80 chorus 2x12 which is a surprisingly crunchy amp considering fenders aren't really known for crunch.

I also have a Charvel Acoustic 625 cutaway Spruce top and Koa back and sides (1994) with a custom nickel saddle that my friend made out of dental casting for me. The nickel saddle gives it a crazy bell like chime tone that cuts through the mix no mater who I am playing with. Koa and Nickel are an awesome combo.

Lastly I have a Tascam PSMKII that I use as the main mixer with a Sony AV460 amplifier. I also have an Emerson 2 watt stereo tube amp on top of the speaker there. The tube amp sounds great and was fun to rebuild and restore.

I just ordered a knockoff/clone of a Jackson Randy Rhoads V with bolt on neck, dual humbuckers and a floyd for a backup axe.

I hope to get more soon but for now this will keep my fingers moving :rasta:

Acoustic guitar! I own 2. My mom got me my first guitar as a gift, the trusty yet all laminate Alvarez RD8. A couple of months ago I bought a Washburn D10 with the laminate Zebrawood sides. I have only been religulously playing for a little over a year and at the time I couldn't justify dropping so much on a guitar when I got the Washburn. I made a deal with myself I am not going to buy a Martin until I have achieved a skill status equal to that of a Martin haha.

But I seriously love acoustic guitar. There is something raw about it. The only thing responsible for making any audible sound whatsoever is you and and the guitar. Don't get me wrong, I love me some good ol fashion face melting with an electric and maybe a little wah wah but cmon, does it get more musically intimate than an acoustic guitar?

If anyone questions my logic, search out an instrumental by John Butler called "Ocean."

Monte Montgomery

Monte Montgomery

You must check out Monte Montgomery and his Alvirez. You can't believe a man can stretch his fingers that far and go that fast with such taste. He is a Texas musician who doesn't mind if you download his concerts. He does a great version of Dire Straits 'Romeo & Juliet"

New axe came in the mail

New axe came in the mail

Well the V that I ordered came in the mail and it is about what I expected. The build quality is quite reasonable for the price. It came with a reverse headstock and that was a surprise. I performed the initial setup adjusting the trussrod, tremolo springs and intonation, she holds a tune and sounds quite different from my Ibanez. I'm very happy with this guitar and was surprised that it was as nice as it is, with a double locking tremolo that holds a tune.

Here she is after a nice break-in noodle session:

Nice metal style and the solid basswood body & stock humbuckers sound good, what more could you want for a sub $200 guitar? I have seen plywood squires for close to twice what I paid for this, you have to take a chance to get lucky sometimes.

I've slapped a few basses in my day... my all time fav was a Steinberger hedless... learned to play on a Samick Saturn series 5-string... actually owned 3 of 'em. Didn't pick up bass until in my 30's, but better late than never.
Currently play an Ibanez 5-stringer. Gotta love that low 'b' gut rattler. I know I DO! In fact, I like to sit on my amp when practicing lol (I always wondered why all the girls sat there, now I KNOW) :eek:
