Wow, OldPink!!! Thats quite the impressive set-up!

I have nearly the exact guitar. Is that a LP Studio? Got mine in 98...love that thing....Its even in the same Transparent Red finish...Beautiful tone on that baby!

Also what kind of acoutic is that? The one with the Maple Quilt top? Looks great! Im sure you get a ton of joy from those babies!:headbange

its an epifone not a gibson but its my sons favorite guitar
the acoustic is mine its an Ibanez EW30-ASE I also have the full bodied Ibanez EW20-ASE

Shecter's are the best guitars for the money. Does yours have a piezo in the bridge?

i've been playing the guitar for 11 years now. i mostly playing my 3/4 midget, my oldest guitar. I can play things by ear but chose to play things that i have created.

i have:

6-string white Cortn early 90's ( electric ) fender look-alike
12- string YAMAHA ( acoustic )
6- string Montana ( 3/4 midget classical )
6- string Unknown ( 3/4 midget classical )
6- string Unknown black and red sunburst ( electric ) possibly a Gibson

i miss playing my fathers 6-sting guild (what i grew up on)

Hello Everyone.
I guess I have been a little busy and missed the new area.

Hey OP....I sure wish I would of had a more time to boogie with ya when is was there. It would of been nice to have sat down Mono e Mono and man to man as well:wink: but there is only so much we could do in such a short amount of time and I am still shaking a little bit from the donkey rides:biglaugh: and also from my adventures down the worlds narrowest corridor.

For the gear heads here is my gear.
Ibanez RG series ai picked up back in 1998. Shes packin DiMarzio Pro PAF and Evolution Pickups. Custom neck work that makes "Ibby" very fast and easy on the arthritis in my fingers.
Ibby is ran into a Boss multi effects processor and barks through a Peavey ValveKing 100 with 1/2 stack. I use an old replica Fender bass to punch out the bottom end and he's fed into a old Line 6 multi effects processor with the bass extension pack installed. I run the bass through and old Peavey TNT100 Combo amp. Both the Line 6 and the Boss Effects are USB driven and are controlled By Sequencing software. I use a Roland synth as the main workstation for backing piano/organ/ and it's also expanded with the "World Sounds" package which give me some great middle eastern sounds all the way down to banjo riffs.
I use the Session Drummer II for the drums which comes as one of the many plug-ins with the sequencing software. I use the waves effects package for all my effects such as compression/gates/echo/reverb/chorus and so on. I play mostly instrumental......for some reason I have been into the Blues as of late.

thats about it.

love to all.

Hey Buck!

Thats a nice setup you have there! One of my friends has a very similair Ibanez...Same finish. Everytime I play it the fast action surprises me...Ive never tried DiMarzio, but have heard great things... I went the EMG route when I was playing in a metal band.

Sounds like a great little jam/recording set-up... How do you like the Line6 POD? I have really been impressed with just about all of their stuff...except the recent line of Spider Amps...the Spider 3s were really lacking I thought...

Ill be honest, Im not too familiar with digital recoring software as I am still clutching to my old 1/2 inch Reel to Reel machines, but it sounds like your system is great... Would love to rock out in there! Sound foam and everything...

Red Spook, NorthCountry, and Sportster...Thanks for stopping in guys! Your gear looks very nice Sporster...is that a Line6 Spider 2x12? Ive got the same amp...Been playing it since 2001 and I still love it.

Keep up the rocking guys! Love to see all the guitarists on here!

I still say we need to get on the ICMag Collaboration CD... Me and OldPathBlueSky have been talking it up... If we can get everyone using the same software (maybe we can find something free everyone can use?) then everyone with a Microphone and even the simplest USB port set-up would be able to contribute... We would probably need a Team of 2-3 final Mixers who cold master it down. But it certaintly would be awesome to see what soem members could come up with by bouncing tracks around. I think we could get some kick ass tunes without even having to jam in the same room, as thats probably not to feasible (420 Cup House Band?!?)... We could put the final stuff here on IC so everyone who wanted could download it and get a load of what we did...

Maybe its just a lofty idea that would never get off the ground, but I think It would be a really great idea...

Anyone interested send me a PM or post in the thread that OldPath started about it...Anyone with any ideas to make it easier for everyone lemme know!

See ya guys around...

Be Well

Lovin that Ibanez... I need to get something with a floyd rose... I'm thinking the Schecter "Hellraiser" C1 is next on my list...

Which do you like better? Im sure you love both, but if you could only have one to play for the rest of your life, which would it be?

I have to dig up the shots of my gear... I think I like the guitar porn in this thread as much as all the bud porn elsewhere:laughing:

My deserted island guitar would definately be the Ibanez. Sadly I don't play the Strat very often as I'm normally playing pretty heavy shit which the Ibanez is better suited for, especially with its DiMarzio pickups and the Floyd Rose tremolo. The Strat is better suited to rock, but I normally play metal so Ibanez it is

Great thread!

I have been playing since about 1987 when my father picked me up a guitar and amp for a gift that year. It was an Aria Pro II ZZ Bladerunner with Pro Kayler double locking tremolo and A peavey audition 20. That was a great guitar and I wish I still had it. Now I have an Ibanez S320 electric and a Charvel 625 acustic. For amps I have a Fender M-80 Chorus and a RMS twenty practice. I use a Digitech RP90 for stomping good fun.

I also have some home brew practice tube amps that are great sounding. One is a 2 watt amp and the other is a two channel 1.5 watt per channel. These were made from salvaged radios and record players and man what a killer tone these things give. They are also deceptively loud for the low wattage. Still I am looking to get myself an Epiphone Valve Jr. this fall holiday season.

Been waiting for the pic issue to get sorted so's I could post up some more pics from my studio. She ain't purrrty, but she's highly functional and well-stocked. I like (well, LOVE) the "classic" sound of older analog gear, tube amps, well-aged instruments that provide for a distinct sound of old R&B/Soul/Funk/Groove/Jazz etc, and also get into some hotrod/surf stuff, too. Also got some gear for doing crunchier, hard-edge sound, but that's not my forte. So here's a few pics of some o' my babies:

Don't have many pics of my recording rig, but I do OK as a project studio. ALWAYS wishing I had more time! My best recording I think I made was a 4-piece jazz combo that came from the local university grad-school. All grad students in jazz performance and wanted to chillax someplace that they could smoke out and wouldn't go broke paying a temperamental engineer. So they paid a temperamental bassist :D

Good Vibez!!

Thanks, other ES!

Hey Pheno- Yeah, I've been building my place slowwwwwly for about 8 years, but I've been playing some instrument since I was 5 years old. I'm now closer to 40 than I am 30 and find I take some fairly long periods (months at a time) off from playing, so my chops suffer a bit, but my ear keeps getting better and better, and when I pick up an instrument or start recording something or somebody, I have a renewed vigor/appreciation.

I'd soooo love to quit my day job...

I actually gave it a go of playing professionally, but somehow, I just hate jobs, so I like to keep it a very dear hobby that I can make a little money at from time to time, and meet new players, learn new stuff, and occasionally play live gigs. NOTHING beats capturing the ears of others and taking them on your ride...at least for me:D

OPBS started another thread about collaborating on a project with other members. I'm really starting to like the sound of that.
