'Spicy Cheese & Saxon Axe'

Not enough work has been done into the history of cannabis - it's hard to get research grants for such things due to the illegality.

DL is right about the beakers and hemp, I had a g/f who had an Archaeology PHD and one of the digs she went on was a beaker settlement in Spain, they definitely used hemp fibre, so if all cannabis originated in China and was spread by man, how did the beakers have hemp? Same thing with the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the Israelites were using Kanneh Bosam (hope I spelt that right) a long time before Christ, they have excavated the temple mount and the foundations of the temple of Solomon quite extensively and have found hemp seeds, the Israelites were storing them to eat or to make anointing oil from.

So if hemp was in Europe and the mediterranean in the 2-3 millenia BEFORE Christ, then perhaps it does not originate in China after all? If it did, it had to have been spread from there with man's help, which suggests there was trade between the East and Europe long before Christ. Alexander the Great used Cannabis - he gave it to his troops to keep them marching day after day, week after week. The Persian Empire which Alexander conquered was built on trade, much of it east-west and vice versa as to get from Europe to China you have to pass through Persia along the trade routes (you couldn't go north through the steppes due to the lack of food and drinking water on route and the fierce horsemen.

I think the best way of looking at it is to say that cannabis and it's usage by man and subsequent spreading around the globe took place before recorded history began and that makes it almost impossible to know what actually happened. Perhaps by examining cannabis genetics from all over the globe, one could get some idea of what happened and when, but I doubt it as more modern humans have muddied the picture - Indian genes being grown all over the place by the Brits for example.

Cool info. keep it flowing :canabis:

We like to think that the diaspora of Cannabis,, as a domesticated species,, follows that of many cultigens including the Poppy and Garlic. Originating in the highest plateaus of the world,, that are found in Tibet,, then descending into the rich lowland valleys, which surround it ,,, by way of hand, mouth, weather, famine, and tribal war.

From here on in,, the seed of Cannabis,, (and that of agrarian knowledge) were carried into the places were humans and animals dwelt in settlements. For it is only when humans switched from nomadic to sedentary culture and lifestyles (possibly in Tibet) that they found the time to think about the domestication of species.... Before which wild populations of plants were managed by seasonal communities.

Cannabis could quite possibly be one of a hand full of annual plant species that were first truly domesticated by human selection... the ppls of the highest altitudes of Nepal still utilising cannabis seed as a staple source of protein today.

Yet Cannabis is still one of the few plants that so called "teachers" fail to even mention in their "schools"... since "enlightenment" shares similar rootz !!! :canabis:

Peace out... :joint:

The students eyes don't perceve the lies,, bouncing off every fucking wall.."

Considering that the Western world's interest and knowledge of Cannabis only began in 1839 with W. B. O'Shaughnessy studies in India and Afghanistan, then it is not surprising so little is really known about the history of cannabis - so little research has been done!

I was thinking the smae thign about those lower buds, really nice and chunky. I'm guessing some kind of Sour Diesel?

Looks very nice, the yield will come from the Power Plant, which always yields well.

A smoker's dinner sounds a great idea, make it an annual event in Amsterdam!
