UK Growers thread

Hey josh019

In my experience, just getting hold of them or the gear to power them at least can be tricky in the UK. Grow stores and Lighting supply places mostly stock 250 and up.

Plenty 150w bulbs on ebay, unsure as to which is best - just get the longer ones with standard sodium fitting as opposed to the rounder ones, these usually have poorer lumens.

Let us know if you find an excellent one or anywhere to get the control gear in the UK please.

^^^ I just got a 150w sodium gear tray from "TLC" (sorry cant post links yet) for about £35
I got 2 150w SON T sodium lamps from "BLT direct" for about £9 each. They sell all kinds of lamps and bulbs.

No worries Josh019, just bagged a couple sodium floodlights, 70w and 150w for small pollen project. Everything is all mounted to a tray I can just slide out, perfect.

Just scored some double strawberry diesel, hoping for a dude!

just a couple of pics of whats flowerin 'ere.

8 Blueberry (38) x Cherry Hashplant from Lonestar and the 4 taller plants at the back are Ak47 x Sk1(luna freebies) . just killed 2 of the aksk1s pictured (far right , and 2 nd left )due to herming . looks like some pollen has been spread allready :( .

edit ............. another ak47 x sk 1 culled today due to herming on lower branches . was tempted to just cull the other , but it s nice n frosty so i ll just keep an eye on it . anybody else ran these Luna freebies and experienced herms? read reports on some autoflowering , but no other herm reports ?

checked all the BluCherries for balls or nannas , all good with em so far ....

Just saw this thread, good to see a UK contingent on here.

Greetings to all fellow UK'ers and fellow yorkshire folk.
Not quite a grower yet but was designing my grow when I got inspired by DrBud's CFL SOG(perpetual) So i plan to do my grow this way. It's still very much in the construction stage (well, modifying IKEA furniture stage) at the moment but i'm going to work on it all day tomorrow and hopefully get my structure finished.

Got no seeds, no source of clones, except a dealer.. whom I could throw further than I trust.. It'd be a poorly taken, poorly potted clone from a really poor genetic.. and it'd die.. :(

Am too skint (with still buying my stash) to afford a really good strain so had thought about getting a cheap pack of white widow or something like it just to get me started, until i've saved enough, to start getting in good strains... unless i find someone who'll sort me a clone of something good to start with :D

UK growers FTW :D

EDIT: OO for people wanting ballasts for small bulbs.. screwfix (dotcom) sell them.

70&150w magnetic gearbox: 29.97 - ROBUS ballast
70w Digital ballast: 45.47
150w digital ballast: 68.97 - both digital ballasts are Powertronic ECG for hps&MH

as for bulbs, BLT seem to be pretty good, selling most wattages and spectrums. Hope this helps, my original plan was to go HPS till i decided on CFL.

Eh up Cpt.

Yup, Dr Bud got shit down, one impressive grower.
I went for cfl also (enviro 200w) and I can only just pull a couple oz dry from it. Just changed to 150 Sodium behind some glass and 3.5 oz first try. Not bashing cfls as I think they rule buit its even cooler with hps behind some glass, more lumens and less wattage.

I was a cheapskate this run and opted for a security hps and cut a window for it in the shelf. Proper quick and tidy. Just means you have to elevate the plants instead of lower the lights. Shouldn't be a problem if you do the Dr thang. :)

Whats the rest of the UK flowering out at the mo?

DocLeaf - Cheese and Cheese? which way that happen about then, sounds intense.

I think it would be hard to be disappointed if you went for some budget nirvana WW. Ak48 is quicker and hashberry or any mandala stuff is sure to please below £20. Theres even plenty fem options if you wanted that for first run.

Hey BingoBango, got some hashberry just pistilling up now, did she stretch much for you? Branches out proper thick like nothing I ever grew yet. Seemed to take just over 3 week to stop stretch and kick out lady pubes, seems long.

Colonel.

I can recommend SB plant invigorator. Bug spray and foliar feed. Only thing I found that will 'heal' the white spots. Pretty easy to get rid of them on non flowering plants, just don't spray bud.

The room however is another matter, especially if you got perpetual going. Try cleaning as much as you can with spray and then introduce some phyto predator bugs to veg plants and indroduce a plant at a to the flower room.

If your just doing runs then you can get some mite spray from Canadian Xpress that is OK to spray on buds if its bad, just damn expensive as already diluted. After that sterilize the cupboard or fog bomb if your lazy :)

There is a home made recipe on the linkorama but aint trued yet as it only usable for a dayish and im too lazy for that.

If its all just too far gone to save then I suggest you buy some isopropyl and make some oil out of it. Mites did me over, I did the above and now they are limited to one corner of my room. I expect them to be gone in about a month

Just make sure you spray heavily for a week before you introduce phyto and give them a couple weeks to chill and establish themselves. Hope it helps dude.

Thanks RYU. Infestation doesnt seem too bad (no webs or anything). Can i use SB plant invigorator on fowering plants? Plan on taking a little vacation after this harvest. So will tackle the room when i get back, before next run.

^ "just don't spray bud."

canadian xpress bug stuff is the only one you wanna consider doing that with.
