Home Box vs Secret Jardin Darkroom

Which one of these is of better quality and overall strength? I also didn't see thermal scan proof as one of the attributes mentioned for the homebox. I plan on hanging a damn 50 pound carbon filter plus a couple heavy reflectors (the ones with the flanging for active cooling), so I need to make sure all that shit doesn't bring the house down. IT'd be a terrible waste of time otherwise.

Peace,

my homebox is good for up to 85lbs. no tent is going to be very strong but i does handle all of my equipment. i have never heard of the secret jardin but dont put too much faith in the thermal scan proof lining unless you plan to modify you exhaust and bulid a subfloor. if they are scanning your spot than you are already busted they are just gathering evidence for a warrant. just a tip from somebody in the know.

My Darkroom DR80 literature says that the top support poles can handle 65 lbs. That is fine with me because all I need it to hold is a reflector.

Having had both styles, I will say that they each will ultimately support a similar amount of weight.

The problem with the Homebox/Hydrohut/Habitat/Sun Hut/ETC is that the ceiling support bars are useless (for heavy items like you'll be using,) so you will have to hang your light and carbon filter off the main structure. I had my light pully things on the side bars and my carbon filter hanging from the rear bar, and yeah, that left it stuck up against the cover.

Definitely Jardin when hanging things from the ceiling is a concern.

please do, theres loads of happy ppl here with those tents, and i personally know 4 ppl now who are using em.. Ive seen em and theyre great....
that is the dark room version im talking about...they also do a street edition version..which is listed as a budget version, not as lightp[roof and less features.... cheaper street edition version basically isnt as good as the darkroom version
EDIT LOL i just saw that you said its THE SHIT not SHIT lol..... dopey me eh.. thought you were cussing out the jardin

if you put my dr80 in a dark room with a light inside the dr80 it looks like fireworks... light shooting out just about every stich glows

didn't sunlight supply replace the homebox with the sun hut model supposedly to fix the deficiency problems? i was told that the homebox is discontinued.

just got a new jardon 240w set up
looks like it's gonna hold up well
but the beauty is in the simplicity
2 different vertical poles and the other 14 are the same
so easy compared to the HH i had
more compact too when disassembled and a nice duffel bag to go with it
that doesnt say "grow room" ask over it

I've got a Secret Jardin DR40 tent on the way, I'll report in with some pics and my personal thoughts on the quality once it arrives :smoke:

i hear the new versions they are shipping out of now have better zippers and stitching, i hope, i like the design but hate the quality of the last one i bought, hoping the problems are solved with the new model

Guys I want to retract my statement on the DR 80, After a bit and I mean a bit of use I can now see light leaks all over by my zippers. great for veg but I wonder about flower.

same tent and same problem i have, i talked to some people and they just updated the design with bigger tougher zippers i guess. the new ones with the new zippers are supposed to have a new orange logo tag. mine doesnt.

edit forgot to add, mine showed these problems within 3 days of being set up and mine just isnt around the zipper its around all the seams along the top and edges

Yeah, IME all tents leak light. I have 2 HTG tents and a Secret Jardin DR120(just got it!!), and they all leak light, though honestly the HTG tents leak a little less than the DR120. I have to cover the flowering tents with packing blankets to keep the damn light out.

all the tents out there will have some little light leaks.... but they shouldnt be anything that will disturb ur plants cycle... remember the growlight that you can see through the cracks is a whole lot brighter than the lightbulb in the room the tent is sitting in.
