Grams Per Watt?

I see a lot of talk about GPW. What is an ideal GPW number? What does everyone (you) aim for? Thanks in advance :joint:

they say you should atleast get .5 gram per watt on avaerage...you gotta get your stuff dialed in and it should increase per crop..

Take that GPW and forget about it. Its a pointless measurement that does not factor in veg time among many other variables. Last harvest I pulled .6 GPW with no veg time. Others may pull 1.5 GPW with 6 weeks veg.

But who harvests more in a 12 month period? That is ultimately what matters, what is more efficient isnt it?

I suggest you work on fine tuning the room and forgetting what everyone elses GPW is cause it just isnt an accurate measurement.

Exactley, one with money and space should have a veg/dry room to get 6 harvests a year.Does not make sense not to have one as it costs next to nothing uses barely any space and requires very little work.

To some it may not be a matter of space or money. I could veg all my plants if I wanted. I just grow SOG which requires little to no veg time. My dry room alone is bigger than the majority of grow areas on this board

Some people grow SCROG which requires more veg time.

Some people grow TREES that veg for months

I'll try to explain this in a way you can understand.First it does not matter whether you do SOG or SCROG as it has nothing to do with hitting 6 a year for example if you veg for a week in your flower room that's 5-6 weeks you knocked off your year,if vegged for 2 weeks that's 10-12 weeks wasted and for some that's just not efficient as alot of commercial growers work with 6 week strains and everybody that's growing for the money which is most wants to make more this year.

Yes this is the most efficient way to grow and for people who run flips it is a must but you got to understand most people who grow are lazy and stupid.

I agree that you should hit .75 with hydro, enough light and proper enviorment . If you have things dialed in, 1.0 is certainly possible without co2. This is gram per watt for the entire grow - not gram per watt per month, which commercial growers utilize more.

ok I'll chim in on this one 1.2 gpw thats every 60 days thats 1200 wtts on 4x8 table 2 600s on a mover and look for that # to go way up with these power plants I just started and thats SOG

cant go by GPW...too many factors.

i run variety in my room. to say 1g per watt is expected is INSANE. many strains will simply NEVER produce to standard. i could veg a bubba for 9mos and still not pull 1gpw. but if ripens in under 50 days...using a 1k i only getting about 20-30g per plant, far belowa 1gpw "standard.

i use to use 400w and grow ak47. i was pulling about 3-4 oz per plant but would normaly take 72 days to ripen, almost twice time of bubba... 6x3 = 18 ounces (low ball estimate) 18x28=504g/400 = 1.26 gpw

but ak requires longer flower. requires longer vegs, etc. so take into consideration wen comparing against a low yield quick ripining strain... depending on strain you can complete two grows wit quick ripining strain in time it would take to complete one grow using long ripining strain.
