What's new

seeds from Fiji

A friend of mine took a vacation to the Fiji Islands a couple of years ago. While he was there he scored a nice bud. In that bud were some seeds. He stuck a few of those seeds in a sea shell and brought them back for me. I've had them sitting in a film canister ever since. I finally decided to give em a go.

I had three seeds. all of them germinated and are growing good in soil. They all have long skinny first leaves. One plant looks like it has three finger first leaves. I've never had one of those before. Anyhow I'll try to update weekly.

That's a pretty cool story there. They sure look SATIVA to me, which is a true gem. Any
pics of the shells? What was the bud like according to your friend? Please keep this thread alivve with pics of the progress. Do you plant bud? Indoors? Do you have a setup for vegging flower etc?

EDIT - I WROTE INDICA, WTF, I WAS RIPPED< SUPER SKINNY LEAVES, SOrry!!

Jack I added a pic of the seeds before I put them in dirt so you could see how they looked. I grow indoor and I've got a momma/early veg room with a 1Kwt MH. I've also got about 10 23w 2' floro tube lights for taking cuttings.

I thought they looked sativa.

India huh. Wonder if the commercial herb in Fiji is from India?

I'm getting more exicited about growing these now that I have them going. When I first got the seeds I was having terrible spider mite problems so I put off starting the seeds until I had everything clean and under control.I quit growing for six months and cleaned things thoroughly. Now after four successful bug free harvest I'm giving them a go. My only concern with them now is their flower time. They could take a while to finish. I'm gonna veg for 5-6 weeks. If I get a male I plan on making some f2's or what ever they would be.

thanks for the interest.

Peace

Pull's up a chair :joint: ,i've never seen a fijian and looking at those seedlings i'd say its a sativa for sure.

Great idea on the f2s. Those plants could turn out killer for you man, and if so it's always nice to have some beans for future use. Goodluck with the grow.

I agree with Esbe & marijuanamat, that looks very sativadominant at that early stage!

I wasnt to exited when I read your friend scored some bud which was seeded.. I thought it was cashcrop indica, but after seeing those pics I think this is getting interesting!

Maybe some old sativa genetics :chin: Old, or "new" it doesnt matter as long it produces some uplifting island sativa erb´ :2cents:

Wow got a few people interested in these. Cool.

Dogsnob- I'm sort of stuck going indoor with em. But that's fine I don't think they would ever finish outdoor up here in the PNW either. they would probably get huge but the weather up here would have them molding long before they would finish. I've got 3200 watts to flower with. I'd be o.k. with designating 600 watts to the fiji plants till they finish. I might put them into flower a little sooner than the rest cuz I have no idea how much they are going to stretch.

I've read people say it is better to flower mature clones of the mother if you want to control the hieght more, Raco did a beautiful Haze that stayed shortish.

Those are only 7 days old? Goddamn those are some fast growers. And especially for such a small amount of soil

Makes me want to go to Fiji, haha
