I've taught all my kids how to grow (except for 3 of them in the Philippines who I support but dont live with ) - they've been watching and helping me do it for years anyway - it's an interesting botanic science lesson for them - and could afford them a good living doing it - in the future - if whatever they do decide to do in life doesn't work out - or just to augment whatever they do do -

My eldest is 36 - and my youngest is 10 years old - and I have 7 kids in total around the world - (that I know of) -
One of my son’s best buds has a degree in forsestry from UMaine here. He has his head on straight. No jobs in forestry so, being a smart, motivated young man, he expanded his area of expertise towards cannabis since the industry has exploded. He was hired by some investors to set up a grow operation. He worked his ass off to get them set up, designed the facility from seed to harvest to distribution, even hooked them up with a source for clones of obscure but kick ass clones(I have some of his gear running now). Put in 80 hour weeks for a couple years. Got the whole op up and running but the corporate machine screwed him. He was flush with legal product and the owners shut him down because they wouldn’t lower the price. In the states, there are tax incentives on businesses where you can write off losses in the first 5 years of operations at a higher rate than afterwards. He was set up to fail. They sold the business out from under him while he was on vacation. He was promised the world and got shafted with no benefit at all for his work. When cannabis gets legalized, the rich get richer and the little guy gets it up the bum. I hope your kids can use the knowledge you have transferred to them but this anecdotal story is sad for me. He went from cannabis entrepreneur to working at a organic vegetable production manager(where he got screwed by a foreign owner again since he was a trusting young man) to looking at starting a boutique landscaping company in about 6 years. Some posts earlier on this thread said the posters hate people. There are a lot of hate-worthy people in this world.☹️

I would hate to rely on marijuana to pay my bills. The cost of growing has damn near doubled and the price of high-quality marijuana can be had for $65 an ounce if you know the right people. The days of profit out here are long gone, hopefully somebody somewhere can make money and not be a big corporation. We blaze the trail 20 some odd years ago and now we can’t grow it ourselves, but big business can.

Fortunately for me the government has taken over for our safety therefore virtually guaranteeing me a steady cash flow for as long as they do.
😆
As a longtime professional in the industry I am not threatened by corporate amateur hour.

I thought of you tonight, Joe. I got my chicken and put it between two pieces of parchment paper and flatten it out and then I made some awesome chicken Parmesan. I forgot how good that stuff is. I’ve got enough left over for two more meals or one, if Ivan gets close to it.

Even though I was born and raised in Kentucky, I moved to Florida to go to school and I had lived with my grandparents there off and on growing up. I had a pretty heavy Southern accent... at the hotels on Miami Beach the Italian mafia guys from Bensonhurst would call me Tex :ROFLMAO:. I'm still real security conscious because I'm in a strongly Prohibition state , so let's just I moved to the mountains here in the SouthEast U.S.

Got lucky as hell and found a perfect place with a couple of acres on the Blue Ridge escarpment.. my wife Harley Farley just gave me the stank eye for being so specific.

Everybody up here in the mountains thought I was from Florida, a typical tourist who probably migrated from New York, say that so they wanted to test the FNG. Since I had a different dialect but could talk the same lingo of their language, the first couple of encounters I had with hunters was kind of interesting. They've got 30 ought sixes and I've got a pistol gripped Mini 14 with 2 30 round clips taped together.

We came to an understanding.

As long as they don't hunt around the house, or come close enough to it for my dogs to start barking, have all the fun you want. If my dog start barking, I'm going to empty some clips and we'll let God sort it out.

That was 43 years ago.

People up here on the mountain know me now and don't fuck with me, because I mind my own business, and they mind theirs. The few I communicate with know if they need some help fixing something or helping them do something, I'll be there. Same thing reversed.

I love where I live and my life, and I realize how very fucking rare that is!
Happy for you. Sounds like you have found your very own paradise!

Ain't that the truth.

Fk, stoned and I can't keep up...you don't dare take a break.
Don't worry the FNG is going to STFD and STFU.

Thank all of y'all so much for being patient, and letting the old dinosaur blow hard, blow his wad, so to speak.

Back in the day I never got into IRC or chat rooms, but I'm pretty sure this is what it was like, I can't keep up either.

Gotta step back from the medical shit, except for the heart stuff, because Harley Farley spent 35 years of her life in CV and I can ask her damn near any heart lab, EKG, or surgery question and she'll know the answer.

Back reading the medical shit gets to me and seeing the pic of the kid in the unit brought back shit that I don't want to think about much anymore.
