This one gets the water works going for me. My son was born the same year John was shot and killed. Got this album when it was released, went into his bedroom, got him out of the crib and a rocked him... while this album played.

Heard this song while rocking him and cried my fucking eyes out.

Subsequently used this song in a video I did for all the kids, using this song for him and explained the significance of it. Water works just like his old man.

Thanks for posting! I don't usually listen to old stuff unless someone posts a classic like this. It's good to get in the Wayback Machine ever once in a while.

This was ours. It played on a cassette tape loop for most of 2 days in our room at the rural Alaska hospital when our daughter was born 30-years ago. Nurses shuffling in and out in their surgery booties for 41+ hours of labor, catching the vibe as they entered and sauntered over to whatever task they'd entered to complete.

It's a good thing Boys Don't Cry, 'cause I would now. ;)

It is a wonderful world, especially in the delivery room! 41 hours of labor... yowza, what a woman! (y)

Owsley Stanley Foundation Tribute To Britt Turner

I can't quite figure out how to make a direct link to a thread on Facebook, so scroll down a ways to see the article about Britt.

God, I hate Facebook! But it's the only way to communicate with certain entities that I have _great_ respect for, the Owsley Stanley Foundation is one of those.
