Big Himalaya bitches getting put to the test by the hurricane. This happened earlier today when the main bamboo support pole snapped on the 17 foot Rasoli -
No damage at all to the plant, so drove in a solid wood pole and hauled her back upright -
Added more solid poles out in the rain just now, just in case. Flowers look good and smell good too -

Af90 sisters. First one, narrower leaf, has a very food like smell. I suck at describing smells. It's like some unidentifiable herbs and some cooked veggies, with just a touch of citrus. The second, wider leaf, has the classic juicy, gas, afghan smell.
Also out of all 10 nanda devi 2s I only got one female. She's hanging in the side of a pot and it's interesting how she has grown and leaned way to the side, getting its own light instead of being shaded by the bigger plant in the shared pot. Very skinny leaves, cedar and citrus smell on the stem.

When do you think they'll be ready?
Great to have landrace plants that can handle nasty weather.
First time growing near my present location, from mid-summer, my plants met typhoons just before harvest. Only one NL plant survived, after I hid her in some bushes.
Now I either grow earlier and aim to harvest around July when the typhoon season starts, or this year plant out after autumn equinox to miss the season and harvest over winter.
The other 3 Rasoli might be done by around mid-October but the biggest one is a couple weeks behind those. 1 Mazari might be done mid-October as well and the other by Halloween. Thinking the 2 Panjshiri are Halloween finishers as well. The 3 Dakshinkali are definitely looking like they will go into November - I finally saw girl bits on the last one a few days ago, never had a plant go this late without knowing what it was. Angus at TRSC said they finish from end of October to mid-November and it’s looking like the latter date for these.
Storms, soggy foggy Falls right when the buds chunk up, botrytis…all part of the challenge of trying to grow here! We had like three inches of rain yesterday and last night, so maybe l’ll hit them with the leaf blower to dry them out quickly so I can re-apply peroxide to try to keep ahead of bud rot…hoping the Himalayas are like the big Tirah I grew 2 years ago and relatively immune to that plague.

I know I said no more pics of Lao #4 until there was buds but honestly it feels like we'll never get there!! Haha. 2 are female, 1 still unconfirmed. They are about 10feet tall now but their structure allows all 3 to share a 400gallon pot without crowding (yet). Tall christmas tree style growth.
Also the lone nanda devi #2 female is finally coming along. Check out those fan leaves, even skinnier than the Lao! Smell is citrus and cedar, maybe unburnt incense.

They look amazing . I do believe the tashkurghan are from my collections that I passed to Angus at the real seed co.. what terps was you getting. Did you find the greasy lime pheno.
Wider leaf Af90 came down today. It's got a classic weed smell, slightly skunky, slightly fruity, slightly gassy, but not strong in any one smell. Big buds but not super dense. I feel this plant would be much better indoors. Overall the plant was very bushy and leafy. Maybe I should have trained and pruned it better.
The narrower leaf Af90 I will let go another week or two. It's def the keeper of the two, has dense, resin caked buds that smell of spices and non-citrus fruit. A little doughey as well.

I finally popped some of these and have one female (finally) starting to flower indoors. I just love the description of the smells/flavors on Real Seed Company website. I love a good story……
I am no help at describing smells but she’s definitely got something going on. I’m excited to see someone else giving her a go.
I finally got a female Kumaoni (Real Seed Company) that’s 12’ tall and maybe 2 weeks into flower. I’ve got a feeling she’s not gonna finish outside.

Nanda Devi 2 chugging along, getting some nice budsites developed and some early resin as well. I'm super excited to have even just the one lady. Think I tossed 8 or 9 males.
Smells exactly like skunkmans Haze x Skunk 1 that were everywhere 15yrs ago (funny how the nose remembers, haven't smelled anything like it since) Very woody, cedar dominates, some pine, and like a minty citrus hint when you give her a rub. Thanksgiving harvest??
It's a shame it's in the shadiest spot in the garden
you can see how she grew with a major lean but thats not from weight, she's reaching for the sunnier area just a few feet away.

Mango Thai is an absolute peach. Got another clone plant in the flower room now and she's huge. Started the original seed plant in October 2020 and she's still living on. I have so many cloves of her...
