@Mountainkush How does Outback Haze x Kalichina smell?
It’s really hard for me to describe if you’re not familiar with the Kalichina. It’s such a complex aroma.
I’ve grown a few different hybrids and a pure Kalichina so it’s easy for me to pick up on it. I’m also getting a little lemon in the background along with a bit of funk/musk as well. Very interesting scent.

I have three seedlings going right now, one Golden Tiger regular and two Thai Chi. Hoping to continue the line with seeds, so I plan on pollinating the TC with the GT if it is a male, otherwise selfing a clone from one of the Thai Chis.
I am hoping for the 'red thai" pheno from the description. How big is my chance of finding it if it's not in one of the two seedlings? I would like NLD with color, but I dont know how much mixing in more Thai and Malawi from GT will decrease the probability, as I reckon the colors only come from the Kali China?

I was wondering if the structure is indicative of the type of high? Does the stretchy thai have more thai high than the shorter and stockier plants in this cross?

Interesting question. My sample size of two Thai Chi and one Kali China is too small to be indicative and may just be the result of chance. Of the two TC, the plant with the more Thai structure was closer to KC in terps and effects. The other plant that had broader leaves and a more KC influenced Bud structure had the more Thai effects. She wasn't short and stocky, though. Both TC were green. The KC was green also, although I don't think it's cold enough here for an in-season KC to turn purple.

My Thai chi spent 4 weeks 18/6 and then was topped down to only 4 little branches to keep
It small and then spent the last 9 weeks under 11/13 lighting. Coming down soon.

This one smells very close to the Kalichina I grew but is a bit more on the fruity side.

Niiice to see the OutbackHaze x KC, I just flipped mine and now I'm waiting for the preflowers in the coming week.
Can't wait to hear more from Mountainkush about this plant, she certainly looks delicious.

Cheers
The smell on this one has changed and I’m no longer getting much from the Kalichina side at all. I’ll try to get a better idea when I check on them tonight but it’s getting hard to describe.
Same treatment and timeline as my Thai chi above. And this one was even less happy with my soil. Lots of foxtails on the top colas.

I’ve been enjoying the Thai Chi smoke this summer and the Thai phenos have had a good cure. The lemon aroma is very strong, bright, and clean. Reminds me of Limoncello liqueur. Concentrated and zest like, sweet and fresh. The smoke has a nice fresh cooling sensation like spearmint/herb. Sweeter and more organic than menthol. Really unique in smell and taste compared to a lot of other stuff I’ve grown and tried.

Dubi’s description of the effects are spot on as usual. Very up and enhancing. Clear minded, great daytime/morning weed but grabs your attention and holds on tight so leans towards trippy in that way. Great for conversation with close friends. I smoked it at a concert and it was a bit trippy at first but fantastic once the show got going shifting things to soaring euphoria.

If I had to compare the effect to other ace strains it’s close to super malawi haze but with green Honduras haze clarity. So strong mental up clear sativa.

I gave some to a friend who is new to sativa and was at a water park. He was blown away, having never tried a weed so clear and soaring. Sounded like he had a great day.

I did a smoke report of the Kali china pheno earlier. It’s quite different in effect. It has similar lemon notes but with more Kali china deep spice. The effect is more balance and takes some of the edges/energy off making it really fun chill weed. Up, creative, mellow without heaviness.

Really digging on my Thai Chi #2, harvested a couple months ago. TC #1 was nice, but nothing to write home about. Flavour was Kali China watered down with woodiness. TC #2 has flavours of green tea, chives and more exotic aromatic wood and cocoa. The effects are clean and complex. It's almost as if the more embodied effects of the Kali China and the headlines of the Thai dance and play off each other. Maybe there is some suggestion in the name, but the effect really brings to mind the ying yang symbol.
Great stuff!

Greetings folks.

Our guerilla grow of the Thai Chi is taking shape!

Thai mother #1 has barely even switched to flowering.. Uh oh! Looks like the dreaded Mid November harvest for this girl.

Thai mother #2 seems to be quicker flowering, I think she's on track for end October! Much less chance of snow hitting by then.

Very excited either way! They are by far the tallest girls in the spot.. Over 2 meters.

Thanks for your support and for including 1 Golden Tiger and 2 Thai Chis in your outdoor line up @teide

The very Thai looking and long flowering phenos (less frequent) usually remain green like the green Thai Chiang Mai mother, even when flowered under cold temps. The Thai Chi colorful expressions are easy to find within the most frequent, tamed expressions of moderate flowering times, these still need cold at end of flowering to fully enhance purple-red pigmentation.
Golden Tiger is not a colorful strain, so you won't get colors and unless you cross it with a very colorful strain and dominant for that trait. Did the GT plant already show its gender ?

A cross between Golden Tiger and Thai Chi could be interesting if you match both strains with the right parent plants and in the right way. The cross would contain 3 different Thais (Chiang Mai, Koh Chang and Meao) for electric, cerebral effects, Kali China for terpenes, resins and taming sizes and flowering times, and Malawi for raw potency and yield.

Thanks a lot for the updates @Mountainkush :D Such early flowering and moderate sized Thai Chis with the Thai foxtailed flower structure and the complex Kali China terps usually produce my favorite Thai Chi expressions.

Both Thai Chi and Outback Haze x Kali China look quite similar for several traits (they share same Kali China pollen donor, but different Thai mothers). The Outback cross looks like has better flower/leaf ratio. How is the aroma of the latest in late flowering ? Guess they are not far from harvest!

Thanks a lot for your positive feedback @Greencedar much appreciated. ;) Hope you have been enjoying your Thai Chi harvest this summer time! The strong lemony scented female of soaring trippy effects sounds like a strong citric Thai dom hybrid ala Thai x Panama, while the one of more balanced effects and spicy terps (closer on the nose to straight KC) is a most frequent, typical expression of the strain.
