Hope you are feeling better my friend, being Ill sucks.
Trying my first coffee since, doesn’t taste normal yet but it’ll wake me up :tiphat:
coffee has never tasted right to me. by the time i can stand it, it looks/tastes a lot like hot chocolate. if it tasted like the fresh roasted beans smelled, i'd eat them with a spoon straight out of the grinder...

Can’t stomach a lot yet.. salt and vinegar crisps and lucozade original are helping.
I’m currently stripping/washing all the bedding and wiping everything down between the waves of nausea , but at least the vomiting has gone
Going to try a bath in a moment 🤞
Lightly toasted bread with a poached egg on it was what my mother often served up when we were younger and recovering from nausea. That, and clear soda of some sort, whether seltzer water, or what we call 7-Up or Sprite.

Good luck.

when i was a varmint (55 years ago) my mom kept Canada Dry ginger ale & saltine crackers on hand if we got sick. rule of thumb was that if you couldn't keep that down, it was time for a ride to the ER...

I used to love Canada Dry ginger ale … not had that for years!
Feeling more human today, house has been bleached, all the bedding washed so hopefully we’ve cleared it
Little miss B gets so scared when she’s being sick, and her autism makes it hard for her to understand it’s going to be ok ☹️

Been having lemonade since last night, that fizz seems needed to hit the thirst
In the blur of the past few days I completely forgot to water the new plants and the soil looked worryingly dry, but luckily I got away with it 😅

Weather is blowing a gale out there again, think autumn arrived late this year, but it’s keeping the temperature quite mild …. Saves the heating I guess.

i am feeling better, hawk, thanks. my wife had it first, gave it to me. now i'm (finally!) getting over it, but both of our sons are starting to get the itchy throat/coughing deal. i still can't sleep lying down in a bed. i'm okay for about as long as it takes to drop off, and start coughing again. good thing my recliner likes me...:comfort: you aren't thinking about Fresca, are you? aint seen it in years...:dunno:

latest Covid variant symptoms listed on 'net match up exactly with what i've been dealing with....but, those symptoms show up in nearly every cold-weather virus/illness in the world - coughing, sneezing, sinus drainage, body aches/pain, occasional mild intermittent fever, blahblahblah. not going out anywhere, wife already been sick/recovered. i know i had the original, this aint shit compared to it, if this even is covid. my doctor told me a couple of weeks ago that they were swamped with covid, flu, respiratory viruses...who knows ? getting better now... yesterday/last night/this morning by far the worst of it.
Sorry to see you Guys are sick. I hope you get well soon.

I found these things called ginger chews, from a vendor called prince of peace ( hope that's legal to say). I don't chew them, just suck on and let them dissolve in my mouth. Soothes my gut most of the time. Some of them can be a little spicy but you can take them out as needed. Sad thing is they're getting hard to find and don't know about the UK

How sweet are they? Sugar added? Or other alternative sweetener? Carbs per each, etc.?

I used to love Reed's ginger beer (and similar), dried ginger (odften had troo much sugar on/in it), etc., but had to give it up due to other concerns.

the package says serving size 4 grams...and carbs are the same with 3 being added. That's for 1 piece. but that's all I usually need.
A local store I avoid due to their past ethics violations re. selling stuff that had no trace of the claimed contents on the label in some cases (GNC) carries them, but they were out at the one store I contacted. They're phoning back re. another of their outlets closer to me.

*(My wife was so imperssed with the young woman's customer szervice etiquette upon phoning me back, that she may contact the woman and offer her a job helping with a client of theirs).

Jeff Bezos/Amazon, though reprehensible in many ways in his own right, to the point of my wife advising boycotting them, has a kilogram pouch of them, sealed in mylar, for all of $21.

May be time to once again 'dance with the devil' for convenience and access sake.

Thanks.

I get nauseous fairly regularly for a variety of reasons, and it's been years since I could enjoy ginger like that. The carbs consisting of cane sugar is a negative, but the numbers are sufficiently low to the point that I can turn a blind eye.

Thanks again!!
