Kingbrite W55 Bar Light Test

Mars Hydro Led

I guess the number of bars would be solely dependent on the number of diodes and their spacing on the board, no? I can't really understand how you could relate wattage to number of bars as something linear. That would be like me saying all 600W QB's should be 11" wide. That's not really the case, is it? Just sayin'.

More bars means more chips would be used. More chips means each chip carry less electricity, their lifespan could be longer than less chip design. In market, Most of suppliers would like to use more chips(more bars). Correct me if there is something wrong. Peace. ;)

That's an excellent point. More chips would spread out the load. No arguement.

So I just ordered my Fohse Aries. Grow Generation finally has them in stock. It's all the wood, but after seeing what it can do I couldn't resist. I'll start a separate thread when I get it for unboxing, setup, etc. Saying that I'm excited is an understatement.

does king brite have a 5 year warranty?
I don’t think so

Hey TPFTFW, I am currently in the market for LEDs and I am looking for the best option for a 4x4x6 tent. I saw your message regarding a 5 year warranty and wanted to ask to which LED brand was that comment made to? thank you boss!

I bought the cobs for my led build from kingbrite, cool to see they're making their own lights now!

Hello woolybear, I had a quick question. In your opinion, would you recommend purchasing thee kingbrite led bar lights over any other LEDs in the market that are ranging in the price margin of $400-$600? thank you boss for your time and help!

For the money at this point you should take a look at the Floraflex light. It's a really good light for the price.

it would be nice if they advised what diodes they are using... i checked the website, disn't see a mention...

my thoughts at this point, if it means anything.

if they dont mention what chips or drivers they use, its gonna be whatever hardware and materials creates the highest profit margin for them. But, that may be slightly influenced just enough to satisfy the warranty needs on their end. Even if they do mention a higher end led chip, it is possible that the chips could be seconds. Maybe....maybe not.

and if they do mention the chips/drivers , VERIFY....

I just wanted to drop a couple of tidbits here on KBs, and the first is to thank the OP for making his test and sharing it. Much obliged. When KB has these tests done, by an outside independent testing firm, they test in those circular "eggs" all enclosed, and extrapolate from these results, to my knowledge.

Over the holidays I purchased an 1100 watt, 10-bar, 2900ppfd 3200kelvin fixture from KB. S301b, osrams, crees and the pointless UV disco lights. it operates on three channels, so spectrum control is pretty decent. it's about 1.15 meters square. Would fit snug as a bug in a 4x4, I run 5x5s and quite like the fit. It runs 3 drivers, all meanwell with the most heatsink material I've ever seen. At 1150 watts the bars on top measure at 30 deg centigrade, the driver compartment 24c, and run much cooler at 600 watts, a setting at which it will probably run without degrading 'forever'. Not bad, tucked atop my tent 4 inches from the ceiling and pulling 1150 watts. Yeah it actually pulls more than advertised when you have the UV running, (which I do not, yet) They run at a cost of almost 100 watts, but have their own driver and switch and don't cost real estate otherwise used for white leds b/c they are tiny and sit beside the IR lights. There was no option to buy without UV and I liked the light, and the price. In US now you can buy it stateside, no excessive China shipping or border fees (about 300 bucks total otherwise) for 799$. That's a great buy. Quality is very good. Does not include the excesses many NA builders feel obliged to include to visually separate themselves from these models and that is how I like it.

When my light arrived the package had taken a beating. We were experiencing (very) unseasonal cold and snow at the time and it had obviously made an impact. Inside the package I found moisture on the bars. Unpacked all was well and light operated as advertised, or better. Nonetheless I communicated this issue to Kingbrite and they promptly shipped out a second new light to me without haggling or back and forth. I showed them a photo of the box, the moisture condensed on the bar and that was that 10 days later a second identical 1100Watt light arrived. They do apparently stand behind their product. And what a product it is... I mean, they are!

I have a 480w 3500k osrams h-chips + red cree bar fixture meant for a 3x3, but I ordered some extra rails with it, for no extra cost to be able to fit it into a 2x4 and couldn´t be happier. I have plans to get a 3x3 later on, so this will go there then. With a diffuser film, I can run it in a 2x4 just fine. Dimmer helps too.
