....is it really civilized if they can't make a decent tortilla?

The South is civilized,
........ in the South we solved that problem by importing a lot of tortilla makers. :shucks:

................... in fact, I can't complain as I have a world-class Mexican food truck a very easy walk from my house :good:

No, Ivermectin Did Not Help Japan Bring Down Covid-19 Coronavirus Delta Surge

First of all, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) doesn’t have a butt that can be kicked. Instead, the virus is shaped like a round ball with many spikes. So perhaps you could say that you want to kick Covid’s balls.

So how did Japan manage to get the Covid-19 coronavirus under much better control over the past couple of months? Did Kory mention the non-pharmaceutical interventions in place such as face mask wearing and social distancing requirements? Did he acknowledge Japan’s relatively high Covid-19 vaccination rate? After all, by late October over 70% of the population had already been fully vaccinated, as the Japan Times reported. Now around 77% of the population is fully vaccinated, which is substantially higher than many countries, including the U.S. where only 59.1% have been fully vaccinated. Did he mention anything besides IVM?

Whenever you have questions, what better place to go than anonymous social media accounts? The following tweet from such an anonymous account had a big arrow indicating “ivermectin allowed as a treatment in Japan 13th August” and claimed that “12 days after ivermectin was given the green light as a treatment for Covid in Japan, cases have all but plummeted:”

https%3A%2F%2Fspecials-images.forbesimg.com%2Fimageserve%2F61a19adf9882bb07df70c192%2FIvermectin-Covid19-Japan-2%2F960x0.jpg%3Ffit%3Dscale.jpg - Click image for larger version Name:	https%3A%2F%2Fspecials-images.forbesimg.com%2Fimageserve%2F61a19adf9882bb07df70c192%2FIvermectin-Covid19-Japan-2%2F960x0.jpg%3Ffit%3Dscale.jpg Views:	0 Size:	73.7 KB ID:	18003454

Green light? Is this tweet talking about the song “Green Light” sung by Lorde? That song mentioned “big teeth” but not ivermectin. Who exactly “allowed” or greenlit ivermectin in Japan then?

It didn’t seem to be the Japanese government. If you look at Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency’s list of Approved Medical Products for Covid-19, you’ll find stuff like remdesivir and baricitinib but no ivermectin. And none of these ivermectin-touting tweets seemed to be from real scientists and other experts from Japan. Why not tweet about Japan when you don’t actually live in Japan because who cares what people in Japan actually think, right?

gaiusmarius ? Thoughts on Japan?

These ivermectin claims about Japan are just the latest in what’s become a septic tank of unsupported ivermectin claims on social media. If ivermectin were a celebrity, it would have a bunch of publicists to thank. Maybe it would even have its own reality show. Regardless, the reality is that these social media accounts still can’t seem to provide enough real scientific evidence supporting the use of ivermectin against Covid-19.

gaius needs to watch that Jimmy Dore is a fucking liar video i posted the other day

flat out bodied jimmy and jimmy responded by blaming his video editor or something hahahahah

https://youtu.be/5wRDLf54Scs

i watched it and i watched the response Jimmy made. he did admit to the error and apparently fired the editor who was responsible for the mistake. never seen fauci admit that he was ever wrong about anything, but a pot head comedian in his garage making youtubes has no issue admitting when he is wrong. which one is more important that he admits his mistakes i wonder? Jimmy isnt some kind of oracle, all he does is quote stuff from studies and articles, or he interviews people he finds worth talking to.

Guess who’s exempt from all requirements and mandates to get the COVID-19 “vaccine”? The following people are totally exempt: all US Senators and House Representatives plus all Congressional staff; 6,000 White House employees; all employees of Pfizer (2,500), Moderna (1,500), and Johnson & Johnson (120,000); 15,000 CDC workers; and 14,000 FDA employees.

anyone got authoritative sources to debunk this.

anyone got authoritative sources to debunk this.

Biden authorized an executive order to require all federal employees to be vaccinated

Corporations with 100 or more employees are required to be vaccinated. as of 2020, Pfizer has 80,000 employees globally.

legislature branch and executive branch aren't classified as federal employees so yes congress and courts/judges are exempt even though they shouldn't be. this ultimately means nothing though. i don't need an authority figure to tell me to get vaccinated during a pandemic. most of them are probably vaccinated - including dumbshit fascists like marjorie taylor greene.

so no, it's not "more true than false" lol

So you're saying that your source couldn't provide evidence, and you need others to do it for you?

Pfizer employees exempt from being required to get their own vaccine? lol. okay.

Fact Check-White House, CDC, FDA, NIAID, Pfizer and Moderna employees are subject to vaccine mandates

Go ahead and read those executive orders linked in the article. I don't think it gets any more authoritative than that. I googled it for you.

Our armed forces aren't exempt either.

NAVY is currently at 99.4% ahead of their deadline.
SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND 98%
AIR FORCE 97%
MARINES 95%
ARMY 92%

Do you think we're trying to kill our war machine?

Did you read the article? It's in there.

Need me to read it to you, too?

CONGRESS AND LEGISLATIVE BRANCH, CONGRESSIONAL STAFF

Congress is a part of the legislative branch and therefore not subject to the vaccine mandate.

-Sidenote-

The Democratic Legislative branch has a 100% vaccination rate.

No clue on republicans...

This is exactly what I was referring to when I said many long time members are not posting the same as we all use to. It seems everyone is pissed off at the world. This 100% caused by the SC.

interesting article published recently in the Lancet:

The epidemiological relevance of the COVID-19-vaccinated population is increasing

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/...-7762(21)00258-1/fulltext?s=08#cesectitle0004

High COVID-19 vaccination rates were expected to reduce transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in populations by reducing the number of possible sources for transmission and thereby to reduce the burden of COVID-19 disease. Recent data, however, indicate that the epidemiological relevance of COVID-19 vaccinated individuals is increasing. In the UK it was described that secondary attack rates among household contacts exposed to fully vaccinated index cases was similar to household contacts exposed to unvaccinated index cases (25% for vaccinated vs 23% for unvaccinated). 12 of 31 infections in fully vaccinated household contacts (39%) arose from fully vaccinated epidemiologically linked index cases. Peak viral load did not differ by vaccination status or variant type [[1]
]. In Germany, the rate of symptomatic COVID-19 cases among the fully vaccinated (“breakthrough infections”) is reported weekly since 21. July 2021 and was 16.9% at that time among patients of 60 years and older [[2]
]. This proportion is increasing week by week and was 58.9% on 27. October 2021 (Figure 1) providing clear evidence of the increasing relevance of the fully vaccinated as a possible source of transmission. A similar situation was described for the UK. Between week 39 and 42, a total of 100.160 COVID-19 cases were reported among citizens of 60 years or older. 89.821 occurred among the fully vaccinated (89.7%), 3.395 among the unvaccinated (3.4%) [[3]
]. One week before, the COVID-19 case rate per 100.000 was higher among the subgroup of the vaccinated compared to the subgroup of the unvaccinated in all age groups of 30 years or more. In Israel a nosocomial outbreak was reported involving 16 healthcare workers, 23 exposed patients and two family members. The source was a fully vaccinated COVID-19 patient. The vaccination rate was 96.2% among all exposed individuals (151 healthcare workers and 97 patients). Fourteen fully vaccinated patients became severely ill or died, the two unvaccinated patients developed mild disease [[4]
]. The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies four of the top five counties with the highest percentage of fully vaccinated population (99.9–84.3%) as “high” transmission counties [[5]
]. Many decisionmakers assume that the vaccinated can be excluded as a source of transmission. It appears to be grossly negligent to ignore the vaccinated population as a possible and relevant source of transmission when deciding about public health control measures.
