Latitude 65 Calle Minogue Here the Sun shines Day and Night. The genetics that work well up here would not perform as well in Germany, unless ya do indoors on 24/0 Light regime.

If you'd check out my album then you'll understand how the breeding is being done here.

If all goes well this Summer then I can sent you some beans during winter or next spring if yer still around here BrownFingers

For sure, seems like a great candidate for some cold resistance. I'll definitely try to remember that! How's the potency though?

Depends on who you ask. > To my standards I'd say the potency is very much good enough, but to someone else who's got used to 30% THC levels or narcotic stoney Indicas it may be a bummer. > The lethargica effect has been bred out on purpose.
I'm also the wrong person to ask, because I bred them the way I like, not like how someone else likes their things.
Would wanna move the question forward to Parameter after he samples the smokes.

offthehook Aye, it always does! Potency in conjunction with a good profile of characteristics that I like is what matters the most, by far. If it gets me rekt, I don't mind if it tastes like hay. However this is also partly a habit from potency being so much more cost-efficient. When you grow your own the potency-characteristics balance shifts more in favor of characteristics since you can just use twice the amount if you'd like, without spending twice the money.

I am mostly interested in trying to isolate and breed in the cold-resistence genes in any case, as with anything I suspect there are trade-offs to be made. I'm just not quite sure how different THC levels affect the crosses. Say I cross a 10% and a 20% strain. Does the offspring go either high or low? Anywhere inbetween? Does it change the upper and lower limits?

It would be super interesting to just grow and try the strain once though, regardless of if I want to push it into the genetic line!

Sure thing. You got yourself a deal. > Will be keeping you in mind and put you on my 'to do list' :)

Not sure how many beans I am going to get this year, but from last year I got still plenty of beans in stock.

Drought like this can be very bad for making seeds. > I have seen plants become infertile when the rains won't come. > During droughts like this, I had plots turn into 'full on' sensi even with plenty of males around.

But I always get something. > 50% of the plots are at high groundwater level spots, and they will always produce well during drought.
But the other 50% are on places where ground water is too low for the roots to reach. Which is great during wet years, but as soon as the ditches dry up for me to collect water, they're going to be in trouble, which is any time soon.

offthehook Sweet! Maybe some day I can pay you back with some refined beans of my own! :tiphat:

Yeah, water is a real bitch. I had a stream running close to two of my plots but it dried up real fast this year so now I'm turning into the hulk by carrying water... which to be fair isn't a bad thing, it just sucks major ass in the moment. I'm assuming that's not even really a feasible option for you as you're probably running considerably larger grow ops.

I just went out to collect some test sacs to dry, getting around that time to pollinate my own ladies. Super stoked on seeing how the F1's grow next season and compare to their parents.

Thank you BrownFingers 😊
Latitude is 60 degrees north ish. And the genetics is a homemade mix from 4-5 different autoflowers. The first cross was a JointDoctor lowryder F1 and a northern lights autoflower from SensiSeeds. Later i have also crossed it with auto ak47 from unknown breeder and some unknown autoflowers grown in Sweden 15 years ago.

Now it’s your own strain and you’ll have to name it :p

The smell is awesome and they are suuuuuper fast. For me they seem to finish in 2 months. From seed to harvest. Speed is underrated when it comes to guerrilla strains. The longer they are in the woods the higher the risk that someone finds them and call the police. They don’t look like heavy yielders but that’s no problem. You just plant more. I rather have autos that yield less and finish fast then yield a lot and finish in 3-4 months. When I smoke some Upzz I’ll write it in the thread.

Parameter Like how they are performing at your place now, then Up'zz can make pretty big buds though. For me they're done finished at about 90 days, give or take a few days.

BrownFingers At times it can feel like 'Extreme Sport' for sure :D But ya do what ya can, and just so long ya can. And then it's: What happens next, happens next, not up to me. Always good to remain comfort zone and thing :)

Plots that are having it heavy will make for better acclimated gear. There's always that silver lining :)

offthehook For sure, I am of the same mindset. You will never beat mother nature, if she wants to take your crop, she will.

Though a lot of ruined crops/plants seem to stem from inexperience, improper planning and laziness (and stupidity, but I'll be nice and count that as mental laziness). There is always something to learn, do or improve! My manic side tends to make hobbies into full-time jobs. I'm glad these ladies don't mind overly caring and clingy men :D

Parameter Looking forward to the review! 8 weeks seems super fast outdoors. Fastest I've seen finish at my latitude is like 10-11 weeks I think.

What's the estimated average yield? If you had to guess

offthehook Is the Up'zz indica, sativa or a hybrid? Any idea or guesses on the terpene and flavonoid profiles? Maybe you've said already but I'm too lazy to go through the thread right now, sorry :D

Goddamn I wish I was filthy rich and could send everything away for lab analysis!

BrownFingers Up'zz = Sativa leaning hybrid. No lethargia or ' Indica come down' attached. Uplifting yet calming effects. Complete well balanced profile. Smaller joints work well for morning, day and evening, and a fatty right before sleep should do the trick as well to have ya doze off.

Would rather wait for Parameter to give his opinion on terps and flavs. > If I already mention it now, then he'd be biased to what I have said.

Parameter Because they have no 'come down' it's best to harvest them on the late end. Personally I wait until all the fan leaves have dropped off before I harvest. I have no purpose for looking at color of trichomes, cos it does not matter if they are amber or brown or what have ya. Just so long they are not all clear.
Because I only make seeds, I want to have as many ripe seeds as possible, so I always let them go as long as they can. They're anyways not sensitive to mold.

Haha fair enough, could shoot me a pm! But doesn't matter that much, just a curious bee. His stuff should be done relatively soon anyways :D
