As an armchair observer may I ask those with experience in growing and smoking them - what are the differences observed amongst the commercially available “pure” hazes out there today? OTH, OHz, and THH?

Curious minds :)

Peace

I would like to spend my next years answering this question myself:)

That sounds cool...what kind of smell does it give off? I bought some durban years ago that had that black licorice super spicy smell to it. Very sativa in effect, but rock hard purple-ish/gold buds. Haven't seen any durban like that around here for at least 20 years. I read somewhere that they might have used a durban pairing to make the cookies strain, but I don't know for sure myself.

It does have that licorice spicy type taste with the scent more spicy with hints of aniseed...but it has this weird buzz ive not really experienced before kind of a speady type high no body...but its just weird...not something I would personally be able to smoke all the time due to the high..it has a almost edgy kinda rushy feel to it... we thought it may go well with the mm/nh an im thinking it might also go good with the nam black neville's haze...one of these hybrids should create sum very exotic sativa type plants...il try an get the guy to send me a picture

The NH I grew out years ago had a high like that...super paranoia inducing and not comfortable. Sweaty palms, increased heart rate, and peeking out the blinds is what you got with it. I tried to give some to some friends that rarely smoked and they did not like the high whatsoever, lol...

The Durban I tried back in the day was uplifting and not too noidy. I really enjoyed the taste and the high was all in the head without making you scared that you were gonna die.

I’m currently growing a few crosses with Durban on the male side (C5 x Durban, Laos x Durban, and Oaxacan/Nepalese x Durban), so I should get some idea of what he passes on to the progeny. If you can get some pics up or pm them to me, I’d like to see what you guys are cooking with for sure.

Do you grow your OHazes untopped?

I am not a fan of purple stuff or terps in general.
But this one is peppery and spicy. Not floral or fruity at all.
May be because it's more magenta pheno not a ture purple?
And a great psychedelic, happy, laugh inducing, eye warming/ reddening high.
The high is much clearer than I was expecting from a THH cross.
Found two pheno's that are like a ticket to the Netherlands in the early 90s.

Kept her root bount in less than 1l soil.
Grown under HPS until the last few weeks.

That's an extremely beautiful haze plant.

I agree that HB's bonsai O-haze is looking like a sexy, high-maintenance bitch. Really interested to see what happens during flower with that one. The other ones look quite similar to the Colombians I grow.

It wasn't off it was set to mods/contacts. Veg plants always look fine. Once into flower the over use of N is the biggest issues I've seen with haze/sat genetics. Once in flower leaf clawing and tip burn will set in if the feed is not fixed.

What nutrients are you running?

From my experience these haze type plants couldn't care less about high ppm or any of the snake oil bloom boosters. Regardless they fill in really nice without them.

I use V&B. That"s not what im seeing. None of the hazes like the same feed as others. Way to much N. If you go back a few pages its all posted.

I agree...took 3 cuts of her the other day. They will hopefully root soon along with 2 of the Chem 1 cuttings I took. I’m using the “hempy” cloning method that SGS posted in another thread. It’s like hempy buckets, but on a smaller scale.

I liked the look of that plant early on my instincts tells me shes the one to watch she could be a throw back to one of the ancestor plants used to create haze.

Be interesting to get Sam's take on the plant is she something his seen before.

I prefer to judge mature plants as early seedlings or even clones do not tell me much about quality, effects or yield, until they flower, then it is easy for me to pick the best ones even before I smoke them in most cases.
