portable A.C's and co2 enrichment

Are anathema to each other, cool word huh lol?Seriously whether its a single or dual hose portable,it will rob your room of co2.Believe me I had a dual hose with the intake through the wall to another room and the damn thing still robbed me of co2!It just wont work so I suggest never trying it.I grew for too long with my portable wondering why my growth and yields seemed so average, when co2 is dialed in correctly there is a visable difference in growth speed I can tell you that!I just dont want anyone to make the same mistake I did,I'm 100% sure about this having done many many tests with and without my portable.500 bucks down the drain lol, glad my new window unit can carry the load!

I prefer building my rooms around windows, that way I can just slap a window shaker in there and bingo! Thanks for the heads up Skel!

Window shakers are the way to go contrary to popular belief,I'd have a minimum of 3000 BTU per 1K light though.I have a 12K BTU with 3 1K vertizontals and it looks like its going to be OK during the summer months, not sure yet though.I used to have a 9K portable too but that was a big mistake.I may have to upgrade to 15 or even 18K during the summer,I just hope I can find one that big that will fit physically and runs on 120V.I'll give this 12K BTU one a try though, its basically brand new.God when I think of how many times I told people to use a dual hose portable with co2 enrichment it seems to make me feel a little ill, that was the scoop on OG though, never believe what you hear until you verify it for yourself

heh, skeletor... i remember those threads at OG when the debate was going around. There was also a few threads on CW about the dual hose as well. I remember there being no one giving a definative answer back then, so i chose to go the ventilation route..

I'm glad that i did! That being said, I would think that if you opened up the inside of the dual hose unit, you might find that there are air gaps that could potentially be sealed up to make the dual hose unit a viable option.

Well I can tell you one thing, you'd expect the intake hose to feel like a vacuum cleaner in reverse but although you could feel a draw,it wasnt as strong as it should have been.I checked to see if there were any switches/levers that may open/close the intake but couldnt find any.Obviously the majority of the intake was coming from inside the unit itself, the co2 was goping right through the unit and out the exhaust hose to the attic.Man it took way too long for me to clear this up,now that it is though I'm really seeing how co2 works and I can tell you its a visable difference in growth speed.

If you wanna see how much air the unit is sucking just stand next to it and exhale a fatty bong hit :) Thats how i test my air filters and fans :sasmokin:

i use a window unit during summer but that thing uses more juice than it is worth really. hipefully since i have co2 now this summer i can let it get hotter in there.

ZEROCOOL,

I'm sorry, but I've read quite afew post by skeletor on this subject of ac and co2 and despite of a lack of pics,an intelligent individual can sense that he has experimented with different ac and co2 and I'll take that info based soley on logical alone before I'll take your advice of "Your setup MUST be wrong!" with no logic to back it up any day.Do you have any info in regards to your statement claiming that porable AC do work with co2,EFFEICENTLY!!!!

Reg,

Zerocool you are aware we're talking about portable AC units right?A window unit doesnt interfere with co2 but if you have a portable, single or dual hose and you are running co2 enrichment, you just think you have co2 enrichment lol

I may get over my fear one day and post some pics,if it werent for the fact a person could lose everything, his house vehicles everything! As soon as forfeiture laws were used in the drug war,any chances of legalization or decriminalization went right out the fuckin door. When I was 19 the great commonwealth of Virginia took 17 months of my young life over 2 oz. of erb,the thought of doing time bothers me.The thought of losing everything and having nothing to come back to totally freaks me out.Fuckin world I want a legit job with the pharmaceutical industry growing and testing different cannabis strains,is that too much to ask lol?

SKELETOR.... Do you use CO2 during veg or just flower?

SKELETOR.... Do you use CO2 during veg or just flower?

Was wondering what growth rates you have in both. I know depends on strain but was just looking for ball park figures... for comparison?

Peace

skeletor, what was the brand and model of your portable unit ? I'm wondering if perhaps other models might be better sealed.....

I just use co2 in the flower room,I'm always trying to slow down my vegging plants it seems, its just not necessary for me in veg.My portable is a fujitronic 9000BTU not sure what model.

I'm probably worried about nothing today, but what about tomorrow? What happened with OG didnt help me with these paranoid pic feelings lol.Its one thing to have a true problem where a pic would be necessary and helpful to the outcome of your grow, but I'll be dammed if I'm going to go down for showing off,no way no how. There's a whole lotta that goin on around here lol.

It sure is nice to see all the OG peeps.........

It sure is nice to see all the OG peeps.........

I never even posted let alone pics on OG..... just stuck to Lurking. Sure found out how much of the books and mags are bullshit and how much are worth it from OG. Still miss that site. So many have come up since though. I think as long as your not selling, smelling, or telling it should be alright but can definately see why some don't. Keep thinking the laws will catch up with the times but doesn't seem like it.

Does anyone have experience or opinion on the CAP 3 CO2 monitor? Mine is getting old and need to update equip. I have had my present monitor (not a CAP 3) for 3 years and bought it used then. Does anyone have any favorites?

Peace

Hello, I have experience with many of CAP's products. They produce similar products for many different hobbies :yummy: There products come in at a realy tempting price, and they do work fine (in terms of acceptable levels of accuracy) , but they will ALWAYS end up crapping out before other brands.

Just my experience. If you can, spend the money and go with a better monitor.
