id argue that bruce could land a harder hitting punch than the majority of the heavyweight fighters...he had real STRENGTH it wasnt about how big his muscles were..how many ufc fighters can do 50 2 finger push ups?
I guess we'll never know.
It's crazy how delusional people get when you mention kung fu or bruce lee. Ok, bruce vs muhammed ali. Sorry but one punch and he would faceplant.
didn't lee himself stop doing alot of traditional martial arts and took up boxing and wrestling towards the end? im sure I read that somewhere.
Respect to bruce though he was a pioneer of mma.
Exactly, that's why when people say "the UFC is the best representation of fighters all around the world", they don't realize that the true masters won't even attach their name to that corny ass shit.True martial artists, wouldn't be a part of the dog and pony show, UFC has become.
In the book that Bruce Lee wrote 'The Tao of Jeet Kune Do' he states "most Americans schooled in Boxing and Wrestling could beat any Traditional Martial Artist practicing at the time." Which is what he came to think through experience.
Here's another quote: "A man with one year training in boxing and wrestling can beat any martial artist with 15 years of experience" -Bruce Lee
So do you think Lee is wrong?
Im not saying he would'nt be great if he was around, he has all the atributes and talent to make it big, but don't be so quick to dismiss western fighting techniques. Also keep in mind he was never a competitive professional fighter and had little to no grappling ability.
I guess the original question is impossible anyway since bruce was only 135 and would of had to put on alot of weight to make even lightweight.
